  1. You are clearly implying that I have a very small mattres Gary . And the neighbours would just LOVE one of those down our street!
  2. Right oh, cheers chaps! I may have a quick experiment with the jolly old Domestos then, on a spare part of the sprue section that is not used. Just in case it goes t***s up!
  3. I really don't know what the answer is, it has got me thinking now and I would like to find out! Unless it is to stop the amount a bike tries to 'sit up' under braking; on some bikes I have owned in the past under hard braking and leaning into a corner, they sometimes try and sit themselves up straight instead of remaining leant over into the angle of lean. Dunno really!! . I can honestly say that I have never noticed those discs on the RGV before though. Yeah, I have seen some of those pushbike brake set ups, neat little things aren't they? And probably better than some moped brake systems too .
  4. Got a Tamiya Suzuki RGV for the upcoming GB, but the plated parts look a bit too 'chromey' for my liking, and want to respray them with Alclad or something, for a more realistic aluminium finish. What would be the most effective way to remove the chrome plating on the parts? I have heard that some oven cleaners can be used for this, is this correct, or should I use some other method? Ta.
  5. Was having a quick fondle yesterday (of the kits .... ) and noticed something which I have never paid any attention to before on the Suzuki RGV. Namely, the twin disc setup on the front wheel, which has one disc noticeably smaller than the other. The left hand disc is a fair bit smaller than the right hand one. Looked at a couple of pics and I do not doubt that this arrangement is correct, but does anybody know the reasoning to this setup? Just curious .... Sprue piccy below, showing the two odd size front discs, and the small rear disc beside them.
  6. Top job there Doc, spiffing stuff.
  7. If you can Mike that would be rather nice. I can send you some cash at the weekend, old boy.
  8. Will these be available at Telford, anybody? Not sure if I will be going yet, if they are on sale could somebody grab me one each of the 1/72 and 1/48 sheets. Pretty please? Before they dissapear?
  9. Made a delivery to Hannants this morning, and grabbed a bunch of kits to ponder over for the GB. Not sure what to build yet, but am tempted to do the 'bike and one of the cars. The Merc GTR caught my eye becuase it has a neat set of 'stickers' to it . Could always re-do the CLK DTM too, this time with a bit more detail. Decisions, decisions ....
  10. I do have some ladders left.
  11. Hmmm, wonder if I could get away with asking for a percentage of the takings?
  12. Good question, never paid much attention to that before. This is the closest pic I have, possibly they do curve a bit? Took this at Norwich Airport, if I have time I could always pop over there sometime and take various detail pics again
  13. Ah ...... ladder is already in the post, old fruit.
  14. Underwing pylons? Corrected for length/height, kit ones are too small. (Kit pylons are in the foreground). May be off to Hannants next week, seriously tempted to get another Jag kit and finally re-do those bloody legs, once and for all. It would benefit me too because I want to do another 1/48 Jag myself some point in the future (not for this GB though, dont have that much time at the mo).
  15. DOH!! How stupid can I get, of course it is! Classic case of 'looking' and not 'seeing' on my part I think .
  16. Quickie question for anybody who may know more than me, been looking at the 1/20 F1 car stuff and saw this detail set. However, it does not specify (from what I can see) a particular car/manufacturer for the set to be used on. Would this be a kind of 'generic' set, for use on more than one kit??? 17. I reckon that masking method should work a treat Doc, for the black bits. That orange looks pretty much spot (sorry for the pun!!) on too, this is going to be a rather nice Jag I feel . Regarding the 'peeled back' metal effect, my suggestion would be to steer well clear of silver. It may look totally wrong once on, my take on it is to do it in two greys, i.e: light grey and medium grey of some kind. From all the pics I have, it looks more like two-tone greys, with a little black edging to create the 'shadows'. Though I have no conclusive proof that this was exactly how it was done! Looking good.
  18. Intakes looking rather nice Mike .
  19. Steve (jagmate), and he has a rather nice 1/48 Bf 109 almost completed which is currently sitting in my workshop. Linky below: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....&hl=jagmate And the man himself.... Doc, really looking forward to seeing your Jag finished, should look fabulous when done . (Would love to try that one myself one day, who knows, if I ever get the time!!).
  20. XX725 was Johnny Fartpants during GW1, somebody here flew it during that time.
  21. Me too Jen!! . Nuts and bolts, fairing fasteners, photo-etch discs, chains and sprockets, front forks, cross-head screws, Dzus fasteners, brake calipers, replacement decals .......... You could spend a bucket load of cash couldn't you?
  22. Wow!! Just downloaded the instructions for that set. It's like having a Haynes Manual for it . Never realised they did stuff like that, fantastic!!
  23. Cheers Steve, just had a look, and I see what you mean!! Linky: http://www.hiroboy.com/ Lots of stuff isn't there?
  24. I could re-do the CLK, get another kit, and add some detail this time, I have never considered aftermarket stuff for cars etc, and thinking about it, I don't ever remember seeing anything like that at Hannants (not that I have seriously looked!!). Anybody know of links to aftermarket suppliers, preferably in the UK??
