  1. Most spray out pots include a hanger. Never needed a seperate hanger
  2. +1 Well worth looking into. I shipped two of mine direct from Japan and they arrived in less than a week and offered significant savings from buying locally. I would love to support my local store but in this case it was not worth it. Great airbrushes for the price.
  3. I just use chapstick, a little on the needle after cleaning. I believe you can use straight glycerine as well, but I have never tried it. Chapshick is cheap and convenient for me.
  4. Wow. Amazing skies on display. One of the best 190's I have seen. Care to share how you did the exhaust stains? Airbrush?
  5. I use a Procon Boy PS-290, which is a 0.5. Good for laying up paint on big surfaces very quickly. Only thing I would suggest is make sure your compressor is up to it.
  6. Never tried it yourself going by what you said? I may tried it just for giggles, however I have never used Future/Klear so I wouldn't be able to compare really
  7. Thank you for the link. It is very helpful for beginners like myself
  8. You may be a little disappointed in the kit, but for me the end result is great. I especially like the exhaust stains and propellers. Overall it looks amazing. I looked for a WIP thread for this build but did not find one. I wonder if you would consider a thread for your next model. I would be keen to follow along and learn how you approached the finishing stages.

    The Weather,

Christmas Day 42.8 C Boxing Day 43.5 C Monday. 41.0 C Tuesday. 40.7 C Cooled down to a manageable 28 C today, can probably get some painting done tonight. I wasn't game to try over Christmas.
  10. Well my air compressor has arrived so I will give the airbrush a bash over the weekend
  11. Hi mate, I am following your P51 build tread with interest. Hopefully I can pick a few things up Hi Ron, well yes not far off 50 years ago for me. It's funny what sticks out in our memory from all those years ago. Stringy glue that wouldn't stay where it was supposed to stay. Hi Chris, thanks for the welcome. I am hoping the paints that I ordered are a little easier to get results with.
  12. Thanks, Yep a 1/72 spitfire followed by a 1/72 Lysander. TBH I am not sure my eyes or sausage fingers can deal with 1/72 anymore. Hi Steve, thanks for the welcome and the advice. I have used an airbrush a long time ago at school so I do understand the basic functionality of it all. I am expecting a bit of an uphill battle at the start so I have tempered my expectations. I have reviewed a lot of airbrush/paint threads here and if need be I can start my own. Looked at quite a few YouTube videos and basically plan on trialling my airbrush till I can get somewhat of a handle on it before I worry about painting models with it. Painting plastic spoons seems to be popular. 😂 So probably just buy a 50 pack of spoons to start with. Learn to do lines/ circles etc. Thanks Bertie. I must admit I hadn't washed the plastic first so probably release agent plus my mucky fingers. I have been following your Vulcan thread and picking some good tips as well as enjoying the stories. All the best.
  13. Thanks for the reply Jeff. I bought my airbrush and paint from Hobbytech. I believe they are the dealer for H&S. I had good service from them even though I just bought online. I will definitely checkout The Dungeon next time I venture into town. Thanks for the heads up on WASMex. I had to google it. Looks like a good day out. Thanks Jon. I am a forum member on a few other unrelated forums and this one seems to be certainly the friendliest. Some other forums can get a little out of hand. Thanks Tojo. I appreciate the welcome Hi Dennis, thanks for the welcome. Hi Steve, I will have to give the clubrooms a look. I will certainly pencil in WASMex to the diary. Cheers
