  1. Kalimera Thanos!!! Fantastic build - I love it! (I have just ordered this kit as a Christmas present for my HAF (PA) collection). Thank you for sharing your build with us. Regards Derek
  2. Peter, I am so pleased that you have had a really restful Christmas (I hope that you will have a great new year as well). Fantastic progress with your Fury and I am so pleased that Tigger has been able to assist you with your project - he is a top guy! As for the wing tips, as you already have the ribs in place, perhaps filling the voids with dense blue foam type material and the then (after shaping) cover each individual rib position with strips of thin plastic sheet; hopefully, that will get you around the double curvature issue without adding additional weight to the wing tips? Alternatively, to keep it simple, you could fill the tip rib gaps with foam, shape it, then heat a thin sheet of plastic card and simply pull it over the wing tip - it can then be trimmed and glued to the tip (i use latex based contact adhesive for this purpose, as it does not affect the plastic - I use this to attach plastic sheet to balsa cores for wings or fuselage). For foam filler. I use 'Oasis' type flower arranging foam, which seems pretty impervious to any solvents. Good luck. Cheers Derek
  3. Very useful kit correction details there czechnavy, thank you (I have not studied the CL415 in any great detail - yet - so I would probably have picked up on these points at some point). Cheers Derek
  4. Nice work Chris - it looks great! From what I can see, the main visible difference between the CL215 and CL415 are the two water dump doors of the CL215 versus the four water dump doors of the CL415 (the Heller kit two door arrangement will require re-scribing for a CL415 four door set up). The slide doors on the CL215 seems to only have been installed on a relatively small number of aircraft - most CL215 aircraft have the same 'normal' doors, like the CL415 (I have two Hellenic aircraft to make (CL215 and CL415) at some point. Cheers Derek
  5. Hi Adam, I use a similar technique to Antti_K. I use a mix of talcum powder (any brand or type) mixed with CA glue. I make a small pile of talcum powder, make a divot or hole in the middle of it and then add one or two drops of CA into it. I then use a cocktail stick to collapse the edges of the talcum powder into the CA glue and mix the two until I have the viscosity or consistency of thickness I require (the mix looks like something akin to a porridge sludge when mixed) and then apply it to the panel line or wherever else I need for filling purposes. Once mixed, you maybe have a couple of minutes or so so apply it before it starts to harden (the more talcum powder you add, the quicker it will set). Once hardened (only a few minutes, but generally less than 10 or 15 minutes tops), you can sand it. It sands very easily and is smooth and non-shrinking, and what's more, it can be scribed. This is my 'go to' filler for nearly all jobs and I have used this technique for nearly 40 years! Good luck Derek
  6. Thanks for your advice Adam - I trust your opinion in these matters. With Covid, things are obviously more difficult to obtain these days, but I shall see if I can find copies of the drawings you have mentioned. Many thanks and good luck Derek
  7. Awesome work Pat, I love your attention to detail. I am looking for a 1/48 Kinetic M2000BGM to complete in Hellenic Air Force markings at the moment, so I shall follow your build with interest (and inspiration). In the meantime, I only have the ancient Monogram early prototype 1/48 M2000 kit which I will make as a HAF M200EG (perhaps a -5 maybe?) the 'hard way'! (I will need to obtain some 1/48 HAF markings for it). Regards Derek
  8. Nice Adam. I also have a second hand built (and satripped) Lindberg Vulcan kit which I shall also refurbish one day, so I shall follow your progress with interest (I could certainly do with some accurate 1/96 scale drawings for all Vulcan marks - do you know if such things exist?). Cheers Derek
  9. Those markings really bring the model to life Nikolay - well done. 👍 Derek
  10. That is beautiful Russ, and perfectly weathered - well done! Derek
  11. Time to buckle up for yet another exciting journey Pete...🍿 Derek
