  1. Read through the whole topic and even more impressed by your build than I already was. Very inspirational and helpful for my own builds!
  2. My mistake, I thought you used a Microscale clear :-). Did exactly the same as you but with Tamiya's Mark Fit. Didn't work out so will have to clean everything up and start from the beginning. Did also have issues with the ZP basecoat by the way, somehow seemed to react with the plastic (guessing here). Had used it before in exactly the same way and no problems then. As for Alclad, I think it has it's cons, but it's also a matter of getting experience familiar with them. Also have good experiences in some situations with Ushi's polishing powders, especially when you are modulating surfaces (Am I using the correct terminolgy here?).
  3. It is actually quite surprising that Tamiya clear is fine, while it is known for its aggressiveness. Never had any problems with Tamiya, so will give that a shot I think. Don't know the Sol, but could also try Alclad Gloss (the waterbased version). It will be a stressful operation anyhow 🙂 Thanks for your info! Remco
  4. Deeply impressed by your build! Saw you are using the ZP lacquer. Did you encounter issues with decals cracklin up under the clearcoat? Happened to me last week with the Cartograph decals included with the Lotus 79. Luckily BBK was able to supply me with a new set.
  5. The white version seems a bit hard to get at the moment, lucky you 🙂 They are a major improvement on the standard Tamiya decals I guess.
  6. @Peter Milgate Just noticed that you have the Decalcas "Good Year" decals, which are, if I am correct, yellow. I may be wrong, but to my knowledge only white Good Year logos were used in '92.
  7. No, that is not me. Completely new here. After a modelling sabbatical, trying to start things up again. Have a 40% finished Fujimi Williams FW16 on the bench that is waiting to be completed 🙂 And thanks for accepting me on this forum!
  8. Following your build with great interest. Have the same kit (with the the Topstudio detail sets), just trying to find the courage to start with it :-). In the meantime hoping TopStudio will also release the detail kit for the engine, which seems logical since they already did the rest of the car. Did you already find an alternative for the windscreen? I did manage to get my hands on the Acustion screen, but was informed by somebody that the fitting is very poor. Could go for vacuum forming it myself, but don't have the equipement for this yet. Anyway, very impressed by your progress sofar, looks amazing!
