  1. This is coming on very nicely! I agree about the wheels/tyres - they all seemed to defy the size of the wheel arch. I loved the 90s tin tops, watching on Grandstand and playing the TOCA games (the first two at least, it all went wrong by the third instalment). I recently got the Volvo S40 and it looks great in the box. Here's hoping Tamiya get around to re-popping the 850 estate one day. And while I'm wishlisting, Mr Nunu, could you add the 94 Alfa 155 and the 98 Laguna to your 'to do' list, ta. Oh and Cleland's Cavalier, purely to recreate the I'm Going For First moment
  2. I use the Any DVD software which can be downloaded for free on the Microsoft Store. Every few months it stops playing ball and I have to reinstall it, but aside from that, it works fine.
  3. I reckon a new tool would be right up Kinetic's alley, though they seem to have gone a bit quiet lately.
  4. Sign-ups are probably moot now that His Magnificence has blown his whistle and waved a green flag, but I'm getting myself a ticket for this GB. ☀️ ________🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃 _______
  5. Cripes, time to get a chuffing move on then... _______🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃_________ This will be my contribution:
  6. This sounds like a fun little campaign, so I've liberated this Christmas gift dating back to my childhood from my parents' house: Sign me up!
  7. I'll have, er, a peace of the action. Sign me up! 🕊️
  8. Sign me up, there's a Viggen project I've been meaning to get around to.
  9. That's very nicely done, I love the crisp matt finish on the anti-glare panel. This reminds me that I need to get around to building the Special Hobby boxing of this kit that's buried somewhere in my stash.
  10. Northern England is something of a model shop desert compared with the south west, so I must give a shoutout to my nearest modelling oasis: Jacksons Models and Railways in Wigton, Cumbria (just west of Carlisle). It's a small shop tucked away down a residential terrace street in the town centre and it's pretty much split 50:50 between kits and model railways in two rooms with boxes stacked to ceiling. They have a good selection of Tamiya and Airfix, with a smattering of Revell, Italeri and Heller. They also specialise in AMT car kits. The staff are really helpful and friendly too. There is a huge range of tools, materials, the obligatory Humbrol rack and Tamiya paints (X, LP and TS) If you're ever on holiday in the northern half of the Lake District (Keswick, Cockermouth, Caldbeck etc) then it's definitely worth a trip. Just remember to look up the address on the t'interweb as, even though Wigton's only a small town, the shop's not in an obvious location. You also have a walk around the shop in google street view (from 2015).
  11. I've been using it for several years for brush cleaning and flushing out my airbrush after using acrylics (AK 3rd Gen, Vallejo, Tamiya). Not used it for thinning, I'd rather stick to tried and tested thinners like X20a, AK 3rd Gen.
  12. Me too, I'm delighted that's back. Now how about repopping the 155, Mr T?
  13. Never built a biplane ... but that box art is making feel a little, ahem, bi-curious
  14. Twas the night before Airfixmas... We'll soon find out who's been naughty or nice. Fingers crossed for the Jag
  15. This bit puzzles me the most, as it would hint at more than just a kit of a thing. Unless 'range' is Airfixspeak for 'a kit' 😵
  16. Gotta admire Border for ploughing their own furrow and trolling the "wrong scale" brigade. The early releases didn't do anything for me, but the carrier deck and now this are very tempting. Eastern Front crash scene = anything goes.
  17. Lovely stuff. I remember making one of these back in the 90s. Didn't realise the tooling has been lost, such a shame.
  18. It's genuinely heart warming to see this build completed because I feared it may have been scuttled. You've got every right to be proud, it's a beauty. Cracking job
  19. If it's not caked in what was once a forest floor in Northumberland, it's not a real rally car!
