  1. That's shaping up nicely, lots of detail going on there for a 1/72 kit
  2. I agree, although if you don't fog the windows, they're often big enough to allow you to turn the model into the light and see in to some details, impossible to photograph though.
  3. Hi @Whofan. Thanks and that is a coincidence. Hope you enjoy the time building with your grandson. My dad isn't around to get help from my boy, but very much enjoyed doing little bits with my oldest nephew a few years back (he wasn't allowed near the sharp stuff either πŸ˜‰). I'll keep an eye out for your Katana and we can compare notes.
  4. This looks awesome so far, great looking cockpit 😁
  5. Wowsers, 1 or 2 of those would buy you a real one to restore, different skill set mind πŸ˜‰. I think I'll stick with my regular stash, lots more kits for the same money.
  6. Thanks everyone for your comments, much appreciated. Is that not a done thing, I don't do much research on most my builds I'm afraid. Thanks Joachim. Regarding the seam, it's not a case of forgot, I just wasn't very good at doing things like that back then, so was very reliant on the kit fit. I'm better now, but still not perfect.
  7. Nice work going on here for your first foray into the maritime. Looks like your building quite the stash while you are at it. 1/700 is too tiny for me, my skill won't satisfy my desire for detail. Space will become a problem for me at some point doing 1/350 though. PS I quit on stretched sprue after 2 ships, it just broke too easily to not annoy me. I use ez line or infini line for mine, which has the benefit of being a little resilient to being caught once it's attached, very useful for my sausage fingers.
  8. Hi James, thank you and yes I can't help myself, I really want to build more big beasts 😁
  9. Hi All I'm straight back into the breach to go again, I said I'd attempt to build one of each when these were separate Axis/Allied group builds and I fully intended to maintain that once they got merged. I'm hopeful of getting a third in as well, but lets see how this goes first. I only really build one big thing at a time, I only build little things alongside an aircraft (because I'm a 1/32 nutter) or a ship - the alternative is that things never get finished, my USS Alabama is on pause while I'm on the group build. So onto this one, I know there's a fair few B-25's in the GB already, so I'm adding another and I'm going big as usual, I don't have much in smaller scales (a few bombers that would be ridiculous in 1/32 - I'd buy them though if a kit exists). Here she is: There's a lot of plastic inside as you'd expect I've already made a start on some of the internal bits and bobs, turret parts and the cockpit floor And some PE seatbelts and the flight yoke added. The rest of the cockpit gets built later in the instructions for some reason And I've made a start on the bombs and the bomb bay - lots of lovely looking detail that no doubt will mostly be invisible after it's put together. That's all for now, welcome aboard anyone who wants to watch
  10. Hi All While putting away a Heinkel built for the Axis Twins GB, I noted that my Hobbyboss 1/32 Black Widow hasn't ever been photographed, which is an oversight as its one I'm pretty proud of. I completed this build a few years ago and it's a nice kit, although the cockpit detail was a little lacking initially, I added an Eduard etch set to improve on that, otherwise its all out of box. Hope you enjoy. Quite difficult to photograph the cockpit, this is the best I could do with the canopy on.
  11. One from me in the inspiration gallery, I realized when putting my entrant away that I hadn't photographed this one before, so I'll need to make a RFI post for it as well
  12. ProModeler (Revell) 1/32 Heinkel He-111 The build thread for this one is here
  13. Hi All It's finished - here's a teaser picture, I'll add pictures to the gallery and I've created a RFI post as well (here). Thanks for joining me on this one and for all the encouragement.
  14. Hi All I've built this one for the Axis Twins group build, the build log can be found here. Hope you enjoy the finished aircraft

    Hello!

Welcome @Nightwing, looking forward to seeing more cold war aircraft and whatever else takes your fancy. I do a bit of everything so appreciate most work, variety is the spice of life for me - as long as it's built from a plastic kit πŸ˜‰
  16. Hi Richard, welcome aboard. Hope you enjoy spending time here, it's a pretty encouraging bunch πŸ˜‰
  17. I'd be game for this next year as well, an excuse to build one of my wwi kits, I'm normally too distracted by other things.
  18. I'd be up for this one as well, got some ships that should quality along with some armour and aircraft, lots to choose from in other words πŸ˜‰
  19. That's superb, great work and lovely detailing. It's a nice car, although I initially thought it looked like it was missing something without the familiar front wing.
  20. That is phenomenal, the interior is really nicely done.
  21. Nearly there, I will finish this one over the weekend I think. Got all the decals on the bombs... Which was mostly a waste of time as you can't see much of them once they go in the bay. I nearly messed this up by pushing one of the bays off the bottom of the fuselage, bit of superglue and a mild panic later its all attached again. I'm going to leave one out so I can see what my efforts were. Maybe I'll pick up a bomb trolley for it at some future date. I've also got all the remaining bay doors and antenna etc attached now, as well as the remaining glass for the machine gun positions And two nicely painted propellors Lastly for today, I couldn't handle only barely being able to make out my panel line wash on the top, so I acquired a light grey wash and used that instead. A bit less realistic I think, but I like the effect and the lines standing out a bit more. Just got to finish that off, do some fuel stains from the exhausts and then take some better photos and it'll be done. Thanks for looking.
  22. I've only just caught up with this double Mossie thread, they're looking good, sorry for missing all the earlier posts.
  23. I'll keep quiet about the list not being complete yet, there's a few more undocumented specimens in the man cave πŸ˜‰
  24. That's a lot of entries, must have been quite the group build. I bet it was carnage to keep up with.
  25. Nice, that's going to look superb. Your postal delivery looks about as good as mine, it's good that Toby had them packaged well.
