  1. I did that with the seats from a Pacer. Not in the Rotodyne, but the Yak 24 which is partly in shot ahead of my BEA bird.
  2. OK, I have made my choice. Left field for me. A car I would love to own, but way out of my pocket money.
  3. # 2. Nice Streak, its actually a 92nd Sqn machine. 91st is blue.
  4. Anyone using the Airwaves speedbrake in the closed position, it is a scab fit overlapping all sides.
  5. It scrubs up OK for an oldie. I did mine in BEA red square.
  6. 7133 MAP to Belgian AF Aug 1954 as FU-6. YL-A. 3R-A. SOC Jan 1972. Stored Koksijde, later as Decoy at Beauvechain. Came to UK in early 1970s for the Historical Aircraft Museum at Southend. Then went to Rochester, where it was restored to static display standard by the Medway Branch of the Royal Aeronautical Society and painted back in USAF colours with false tail number 6771. Preserved at RAF Museum, Cosford, UK, stored, not displayed. Transferred to the Bentwaters Cold War Museum 25Sep19. To be restored in colours of 81st Fighter-Bomber Wing. We do have a potted history but I can't locate at present. As for work, the weather has been just a bit inclement of late, and the ground is always too soft for a crane in winter. We need it on it's wheels ASAP as we need to move it and other exhibits to do some groundwork and hardstandings. Even getting contractors to give estimates for hardstandings and the like is like drawing teeth. Businesses are just not interested, and it is frustrating as we cannot get things done. I have been waiting 2 years to get this beast off the ground, and although we have someone to lift it, the weather is against us. We are hoping to move 4 aircraft around on display but our Coleman tug is currently out of action. With 2 aircraft in paint at present, and the Streak and Harrier to be painted in situ, we hope to make some major changes this year.
  7. A mint MGC GT in old gold on a 68 F plate. Chrome and wires.
  8. And now more faults found. Hopefully information from an official source will come to light; https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13046873/Boeing-finds-new-problem-737-Max-planes-worker-spots-mis-drilled-holes-fuselage-lead-delays-delivery-50-new-planes.html
  9. The Platoon is all present and correct. Stand at ease men.
  10. Lines Bros always stated they scaled of original plans, so should be right.
  11. I have the original bagged Lotus Cortina, plus a bagged Mk III Zodiac, and an even rarer boxed US issued Zodiac in white plastic with chromed parts.
  12. GB's are not normally my thing, but I am a boomer, and I am spoiled for choice. Now I know we haven't started, which gives me ample scope. I have tons of stuff of the time period. Most of it in the Rocking Horse corral, and many kits that were actually produced back then and never seen again. I'm just painting a Piasecki H-16 kit dated 1955, which I will put in the inspiration thread. I will chose a rarity for the timeframe .
  13. I have a Caracal sheet CD 48080 in 1/48 spare.
  14. Last ambulance I saw was at Telford with Collectakit pre Covid. I have the E Type as well as the Victor Estate. The Mk 1 Cortina had different width C pillars for the 2 and 4 door. Boot lid was the same. Never realised the Mk 2 had different boot lids. I took my test in a 2 door Mk 2 and my brother had a 4 door, and dad had an estate. Good cars apart from the dreaded wire worm. I had the inner wing detach from the scuttle on my Mk 1, Cost me £30 to have it welded up. That colour chart must be for the export market, there are some non UK colours on it. It's also missing Ambassador Blue.
  15. It is easier to fool someone, than to convince them they have been fooled. Mark Twain
  16. https://www.scalemates.com/search.php?fkSECTION[]=All&q=revell+north+sea+trawler* I have 2 of these. they will be cut and shut as I want to build the Ross Revenge. I need some Albion Alloys tubing...........
  17. Are you leaving the motor in? I'm converting mine into a 2 door, ditching the motor and moving the rear seat into the proper location, chopping much of the rear parcel tray off. There was a lot of leg (over) room in the back of a Mk 1 Cortina (oo-er missus) and the motor takes it away. Not sure what that long cylinder on the left side of the engine is supposed to be, it certainly wasn't present on any examples I've seen. I'm tempted to drill through the wheel trims, someone moulded them back to front. All those little triangles should be visible.
  18. As promised. Twin Mustang And a few more. Sea Venom: Neptune Oxford and Comet Voodoo
  19. Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience.
