  1. Lovely model. Very neatly built. Panel lines and weathering is great. If it wasn't labelled as 1/72, I would have thought it it was 1/48. Well done. MC
  2. Now for the white star. This time I tried a different approach. I cut out my star template in paper and stuck it temporarily onto the foredeck of the model. Then I used strips of masking tape around the template and then removed the template. This was much easier to get positioned correctly. Masking liquid used to seal joins in the masking tape to stop spray sneaking through the joins.
  3. Great work Calum. Lovely subtle weathering. Great panel lines. Very neat and clean construction with no sign of seams. Excellent wing/fuselage joins. I'm impressed with the very neat paint masking. Bonza. MC
  4. Very nice. Panel lines and other weathering look exactly right. MC
  5. Painted and ready for weathering and bits to be added
  6. Very nice. Pre-shading has worked well. Great masking on the canopy with beautiful neat framing. MC
  7. As I posted in my HSL 128 WIP, I can't believe its been seven months since I last posted on this WIP! Here is 127, deck sanded with wet and dry 3000 grit and resprayed. Actually, I think I did a better job on the spray this time. I think my air pressure was a bit too high, and my airbrush wasn’t close enough to the model. I was getting a roughish surface. This one is much smoother.
  8. I found that the rails, which are butt jointed with superglue, were very fragile- if I looked at them they fell off. So I've added small rectangles of very fine brass plate behind each joint for support.
  9. I can’t believe my last post on this was back in May! Life has been very busy. I did do some modelling, but got sidetracked by something shiny…a Norwegian Air Force F86 Sabre, which I will post as completed shortly. I was happy with the depression rails, until I test fitted the turrets. The rails didn’t look at all good. They were too low- particularly around the aft turret cupola, and wouldn’t have functioned as a depression rail at all. So… back to the brass bending. These ones are a better size.
  10. Very nice model. I like the slight variation in the main colour on different panels, and the panel lines. The exhaust stain is excellent. MC
  11. Fantastic model. Excellent weathering. Your work around panel lines, and the patchy faded blue finish is superb. Photography is very impressive. MC
  12. Very nice. Great weathering. Excellent finish. MC
  13. I looked at some photos of Hellenic Phantoms on the web. You've replicated the weathering perfectly. Well done. MC
  14. Hi everyone. As this topic seems to be answered, I would like to put a supplementary, but related, question. What were German naval grey colours before 1973? Specifically, for light attack craft and the Brave class derivative Strahl. And as a further question, were these colours changed when Strahl was transferred to the Hellenic Navy in 1967 and renamed Astrapi? Regards, MC
  15. Very nice. You inspire me to finish my half done Aus Sea King. Your conversion and relocated windows looks really good. Well done. MC
