  1. The new seals arrived and despite looking exactly the same as the existing one under a magnifying glass its solved the problem! Amazing. Good shout to try replacing the seal first at a fraction of the cost of a new aircap and nozzle. Thanks for the advice all!
  2. Thanks for the advice. I have ordered a replacement set of seals at £4.99 so will give that a go first and let you know how it goes!
  3. Hi Everyone. I have the same problem with a H and S Evolution I purchased a mere 2 months ago ie bubbles in the paint cup and the obvious consequences of that. I've tried all the known cleaning methods I can find and inspected the noozle and air cap and seal and all seems well so I am now at a loss. I'm reluctant to buy a new nozzle and air cap but it seems this is the only solution as the air must be getting back in somehow either through a damaged nozzle or screw on the air cap or even the washer. Before the issue I have been trying unsuccessfully on a number of occasions to spray Mr Hobby GX100 super clear gloss thinned with Mr Hobby Levelling Thinner. It blocked the airbrush a couple of times before I found that I needed more and more thinner to get it to pass through the 0.2mm nozzle. In between failures I put the nozzle and air cap into a small bath of laquer thinner overnight as advised so am probably now wondering if I might have ruined the rubber seal. I was also experimenting with metal laquers on a Lightning F2 before this (ALCLAD Aluminium) and remember that there was a period when I wasn't able to clean the airbrush straightaway after use and it got jammed up for a bit before I could then clean it again with the laquer thinners. I'm thinking either of these events might have damaged one of the nozzle/air cap threads/seals... It's annoying as was said before and frustrating given the airbrush was a speacial treat a couple of months ago! So....any thoughts before I spend another £30 or so on a new nozzle and air cap?!!! Many thanks!!
  4. Really smart build and good panel detailing. Brings back some memories as I served at RAF Wattisham in the early 90s when 56 and 74 Sqns were there. Also saw one up close being refuelled in the air which was awesome. I have had a 56 Sqn Firebirds kit in the loft Revell 1:48 which is now wetting my appetite after your pictures!
  5. Thanks - reckon I've got it now! Put a few normal photos into my ready for inspection build to prove it that aren't thumbnails anymore!
  6. Finally getting to grips with posting photos from Flickr so here a few bigger than the thumbnails above! Phew
  7. Thanks Chris it appears to have worked as you can see above. I take it then each picture has to be posted separately?

  9. Hi, I'm new to this forum and just finding my way around. I'm having trouble posting pictures in the review aircraft section. I'm using Flickr and have been following the instructions ie share the photo to get the URL then copy and paste into BM in the box which pops up once you click insert images with URL etc. Each time the box just goes pink...I have read through the threads but can't seem to find an answer. I did manage to upload some links by copying the URL link and pasting it into the narrative box but they've just come out as thumbnails. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
  10. Thanks Joachim, I’m struggling trying to post pictures from Flickr without much success so will have another go!
  11. Hi everyone, my first build for perhaps nearly 30 years having just got back into it! Could not start without going back to my roots and building a Spitfire having served in the RAF for many years. The build is a Revell at 1:72 so nothing special or tricky to do although this is the first attempt at any sort of weathering and finer detail stuff. I'm still building my accessories up and paints so pretty basic attempt I imagine. I have now bought an airbrush although not had the time (ie when my wife is away) to give it a go! Anyway, it was great fun to build over many weeks little bit here and there getting stuff out and putting it back again. I served through the Cold War and have an interest in Vietnam as well as WWII so there's plenty of scope and kits that interest me. Great to be back!
  12. Thanks Chaps for your good advice and Herrick I think I will post it then even if I get a few chuckles! I did my best with the materials I had as they say
  13. Thanks you Guys for your words of encouragement and welcome, all points are duly noted and its great to think that we are a global community in reference to Dennis from Chicago. I can see that there is a lot to gain from this forum so I will enjoy finding out more about everything in days to come. Just completed a Spitfire Mk IIa from Tiger Sqn North Weald, 1941, which I am happy with given my current stage of modelling.
  14. I am new to this website so enjoying all it has to offer including your Beaufort build. My interests are WWII aircraft and having served recently at RAF St Mawgan and lived at St Eval SFQs where the Beaufort flew from its particularly nice to see such a good effort. Opinions always vary of course on the weathering front but I'd be quite happy with your results.
