  1. I am relatively new to airbrushing and I have to own up to finding it frustrating. My airbrush is an Omni 4000 and I find control difficult. I look at the results some people get with envy! Part of the problem is that I'm now seventy years old and my hands aren't what they once were. I find the use of the top mounted trigger on the airbrush awkward, so creating fine lines is a real issue for me. Getting them straight was a challenge that I have mostly overcome but I find that I still tend to 'blob' the paint at each end. I have just ordered a Badger High Roller Trigger in the hope that it will give me some more control over the pullback of the trigger. Does anybody have any experience with using one? The other thing I'm considering is the purchase of a trigger action airbrush such as the Harder & Steenbeck Colani. It's not cheap, so before I buy, can anybody talk to me if they have any experience with one please?
  2. I’ve never tried because Quickshine brushes on easily and dries to a lovely shine with no brushmarks. But I believe it can be done. Not sure about the thinning and be careful to clean your airbrush thoroughly because it dries fast and it difficult to budgr
  3. Fascinating watching. Some grim stuff in there, mind.
  4. Air Vice Marshall Don Bennett? Pathfinder Force Commander; I can find one called Pathfinder. Any others you recommend?

    Welcome cutter. Enjoy the forum!
  7. Welcome Henrik. Nice Hornet!
  8. Welcome Adolfo. Scratch building has to be the hardest form of modelling but perhaps the most fun. Welcome!
  9. Welcome Frankson, hope you enjoy the forum!
  10. I’ve just watched a fascinating film on Prime Video called Night Bombers. It gives a detailed account of the preparation for, and execution of, a ‘maximum effort’ night attack by Lancasters and pathfinders against Berlin in 1943. In colour, it is narrated in the dry style only the British seem to manage. Absolutely fascinating if you’re into WW2 in any way.
  11. I have the same problem only with dog hair! No matter how careful, she always leaves her mark. Lovely build, really enjoying this. What did you do with the gunsight? There’s a slot in the forward bulkhead I think. Agree it’s not at all clear.
  12. What an excellent pair of birds! And your photography is just as good. Truly impressive.
  13. Excellent first start with dioramas, Oldfarte! And with my favorite plane too, what’s not to like! Just a suggestion but I’d paint the white edges to blend in with the rest of the scheme. Nice job!
  14. I think that the choice of scale is down to your personal preference. You’ve made a good start with your Tiger ( they are mean looking machines). If it were me, I’d practise some more on 1/72 before moving up to a bigger scale. But that’s just my opinion and you’re obviously free to do exactly what you want. The advice the guys have already given is very sound. I remember when I was your age that I never used to prime my models but it certainly helps the process. Good luck and keep modelling!
  15. I've not had a chance to progress with this - hopefully that will change this week. I have a question re the office floor. This is an excerpt from the instructions: As you can see, part E46 is supposed to painted grey green and silver. The grey green is no problem, but silver? This is presumably where the pilot would rest his feet, so aluminum perhaps. Anybody got any comments re this?
  16. Welcome! there's tons of stuff here.
  17. Welcome! Can't help with your seach but hope you stay for more than just that!
