  1. beefy66 I have 6 photos of Royal Sovereign leaving the Philadelphia Navy Yard in September 1943. If your interested I can email them to you the photo sizes range from 0.98 MB to 3.05 MB. Roger Torgeson rtorgeson@ olypen.com
  2. Please excuse the double typing of and attaches and spelling tat instead of that. It’s been a very long day and I do know better then to press Send before I do a spell check.
  3. The hole does in fact can be used for the reasons so far in the various posting and also for a chain the runs from a small casptan on the deck through the hole and attaches and is attached to the bulbous bow. I do have three 3 photos tat show this arrangement. Being somewhat a "Computer Neanderthal" as my granddaughter calls my I haven't the knowledge yet to post photographs but is you care to send me your email address I can send you a few more then just the just the 3 images My email address is rtorgeson at Olypen .com
  4. John, I spent some time this morning looking for Iowa Class aircraft crane photos with only finding two images that may or may not be of any help, I will try and get them sent today. Next up will be photos of the catapults again not he main subject of the photos but you may find plenty of small details that will help you fall asleep at 0300-0400. 🙂 Roger
  5. Your build is looking better and better all the time as you add more parts and details. I'll be interested in seeing how your attempt to paint hull plates comes out. 2 more photos showing the main deck bow area that might be of some help to you will be sent s soon as I post this. Roger
  6. Ernie , Since my last post on your U-2513 I have sent off a request to the US National Archives and received a reply with photograph numbers for 4 photos plus a lead to additional images which I hope to follow up on when I make my fall visit to the Archives later this month. When I'm asked how do I pick a ship model to build my usual reply is " it's something I am reading or a interesting photo I have seen". In the case of the U-2513 it's because of your build. Roger
  7. Thanks for posting your build. After reading and looking at the photos I remembered that I have the old (1995) release of the DML kit on my Shelf of Doom that is about 75% finished. Come September while at the US National Archives I'll be looking for photographs of U-2513 to scan and use as reference material for .finishing my build
  8. Phil, Do my old eyes deceive me or am I seeing PE ammunition on the four Pom-Poms, if it is PE can you tell me what the source you used to get them is? Roger
  9. Phil, Outstanding start on the camouflage, painting complicated patterns as this is quit a challenge. I’m sure when you have the model complete you will have a 1st rate piece of “Eye Candy”…… sweet looking
  10. Phil, Your Rodney looks just like the photos of the real ship you sent. Your build looks better and better each time I see it.
  11. Hi Phil, I recognize that plastic tubing, it sure didn’t take you long to find a good use for it. Rodney is really starting to come together very well. Before long you’ll be adding the White Ensign and calling this build finished.
  12. The lower deckhouse is looking good, I hope the drawing I sent Monday makes it to you before you’re finished with the build. If your luck is anything like mine it will arrive the day after you needed it the most. Roger
  13. Phil, How do you do it, you have four hands or can survive with only 30 minuets sleep a day? From Nov.10th to the 15th you have gone from cutting up a hull to having it painted. Just think of what you’ll be able to do when you are fully retired. I’m impressed. What reference material are you using? Roge
  14. Phil, It looks like you have made a good start on what should be a very interesting model. Personally I hope you choose to finish Rodney in its camouflage pattern. I know they do require a lot of extra time to paint but when finished it will looks great.
