  1. Many thanks. I tried to restrain myself when wearing the paintwork so glad it is appreciated!
  2. Recently completed this fantastic kit from Eduard, I'm sure its qualities are well known by now. I'm not much of a 48th fan. Most projects end up in the "to be completed" drawer, and those that do reach the finish line are usually a disappointment. Thankfully I can't say the same about this build, I'm really happy with the result. Airbrushed with a mix of Tamiya and Mr Hobby acrylics. Thanks for viewing!
  3. Episode 8 was a dud for me. To think of the drama and stakes of D-Day, but we got a third of an episode showing how sleepy the group navigator was. I'm not saying they could've done much different, just that maybe the story of the 100th BG doesn't lend itself to the screen as well as I'd hoped. I know it is it's own show but comparisons to BoB and The Pacific were inevitable and I think it's a step below those two.
  4. It's definitely worth a watch at this stage. The only criticisms I have of it are the somewhat dodgy animation and its a bit self-aggrandising. But the action is visceral and so far it seems to care about accuracy for the most part. Episode 3 was certainly better than 1 & 2 so hopefully that trend continues.
  5. My only gripe so far has been the CGI. The aborted landing on Greenland looked cartoonish. CGI is perfect for wide shots of the squadron in flight, but up close it will never look as good as the real thing or in certain cases a really good model. Overall I'm liking it but I'm not a big fan of any of the characters (can't stand Barry Keoghan's face) but let's be real, I'm here for the aircraft. I liked how over Norway they were attacked by Ju88's as many productions would've swapped them for the more identifiable 109/190. I'm a bit miffed we'll be following the red tails as I feel they've been a bit done to death on screen and there are plenty of great characters and stories in the fighter groups of 8th Air force. I suppose one advantage of CGI is we won't have to see a Buchon! Edit: I've just watched episode 3 and thought it was a definite step up. Without spoiling too much it's the first Schweinfurt/Regensburg raid so that should give you an idea of the stakes.
  6. Hello there, this is my first post here after a couple of months browsing. A little background on me; I did some scale modelling when I was a kid with my Dad. After rebelling in my teenage years I am now back in my early 30’s with refreshed enthusiasm and slightly more patience. Said Dad sorted me out with the essentials and has a nice trove of kits for me to rummage through. The smell of Revell contacta took me right back to being at the desk with my Dad putting together Brewster Buffalo’s, Polikarpov’s, etc (he only gave me dinky planes to do?) This isn’t my first build since getting back into it, it’s probably not even the “best”, but I really liked the kit and am quite happy with the finish. Mainly I figure it's about time I share some of my builds to get some feedback on where I can improve, maybe some of you may even like them? A few notes: I’m brush painting, colours are largely Ammo Mig IJA paints, not navy. From what I’ve seen online Japanese ww2 colours are a rabbit hole I'd rather avoid, the aircraft look I was going for is based on a brief colourised clip seen in a Pearl Harbour documentary. Due to it being colourised I took the accuracy of the colours with a pinch of salt. I only have this terrible screengrab of the reference aircraft.
