  1. Thanks for all the useful comments. I guess I will have to improve my weathering skills (I am more used to building WW1 and between war models) 🙂 Best regards, Octávio
  2. Hello, I completed this kit in 2020. The MAC kit is very good. Just needs some minor changes like thining of the wings and stuts. Based on the Wingnut kit, I enhanced the kit a little. The fuselage decals were painted and I used Aviattic decals for the wings. Here are some photos of the model. 3. Thanks for all the kind words. As to the black wash, I guess it is a habbit. I simply applied it regardless of the depth of the lines.... 😞 Best regards, Octávio
  4. Hello all, I have added the final details to the model: - Machine guns; - Wheels down indicator; - Spinner; - Aerial radio cable. You can see photos of the finished model here: Best regards, Octávio
  5. Hello all, I have finally finished my Airfix Supermarine Spitfire MkI. The Airfix kit is quite ok (of course if you leave out the trench marks...). You can follow the build process on this link: Here are some photos of the fihished model. 6. Hello all, For all insterested, Josef Jacobs Fokker DR.1 has new decals. The "red devil" decal is changed since the last edition. In my opinion they look better but Eduard offers two diferent devils (between port and stardoard side). Best regards, Octávio
  7. Hi all, First of all thanks Johnson and Adrian for your kind remarks. The bird is almost finished. Since the last post, I have added the landing gear, canopy, exausts (SBS) and propeller (not glued yet) Best regards, Octávio _MG_9481 by ZlinXII, no Flickr _MG_9482 by ZlinXII, no Flickr _MG_9485 by ZlinXII, no Flickr
  8. Hello. Small progress has been made since the last post. I added a morse code light (top of the fuselage), part of the canopy and a satin varnish was applied to the model. Best regards, Octávio _MG_9403 by ZlinXII, no Flickr _MG_9401 by ZlinXII, no Flickr _MG_9400 by ZlinXII, no Flickr
  9. Thanks Paul! Is the Archer decal you used this one? - Staggered double row rivets - 1/72 - AR88194 (https://www.archertransfers.com/AR88194.html) Best regards, Octávio
  10. Great build! How did you replicate the fuselage stiching? Best regards, Octávio
  11. Congratulations Dimitry. Lovely PZL! Do you have any photos in the building process? Best regards, Octávio
  12. Thanks Carlos! The fuselage has been sealed and the wood panels were scribded. After straightening the wing I detached the ailerons. Best regards, Octávio _MG_8920 by ZlinXII, no Flickr
  13. Olá Carlos, Lovely plane!!!! Sure wish I could get my hands on this kit. Abraço, Octávio
  14. Hello, I have finished applying the decals (sealed of with a coat of future). I also applied a light wash to the model. I applied one or two passages of yellow to replicate the coverved yellow ring around the fuselage cocardes. A darker color was applied oh the place of the registration numbers. 15. Hello all, Here is my first build of a resin printed model. The Avia BH-1 kit is quite good and well detailed. I have now finished the cockpit and made some improvements: - Scratch seatbelts and dials added; - Control sticks replaced; - A lether pouch was added to the cockpit wall. 16. Hi, Thanks for your coments 🙂 As to the oval panel on the canopy, please check if you have an azmodel/kp spitfire. It normaly comes with this decal for the canopy. As for the pitot tube, I will be sticking with the one provided by airfix. In this photo (please see following link: http://falkeeinsmodel.blogspot.com/2012/04/more-spits-moving-across-bench-airfix.html) you can see WZ-T using this pitot tube. Thanks for the other tips and best regards, Octávio
  17. Hi, Nice build! I am also building this kit but I did not have the courage to fill in the panel lines 😞 I am currently putting on the decals. Best regards, Octávio
  18. Thanks Steve! I will mask the registration locations and paint dark brown and dark green. Best regards, Octávio
  19. Hello All, I am trying to replicate the hiding of the registration number (clearly visible on the left side of the aircraft). I copied the airfix paint sheet and tried to simulate the position of the registration numbers on the fuselage. It looks that if the registration number on the right side is in the same spot than the one on the left, it looks like it would be covered by the WZ letters. From the examples of other Spitfires, it looks like the registration numbers were on the same spot. Any clues for this particular aircraft? Airfix_wz_t_3 by ZlinXII, no Flickr Best regards, Octávio
  20. Hi Giampeiro, Very impressive build! You mention that you shortned the wing struts. Do you remeber how much were they shortned? By the way do you have more photos of the build? Best regards, Octávio
  21. Hello everyone and hope you all have a great 2023. I finaly made the update to the fuselage (front panel of the cockpit). I added two aluminum strips on the side of the fuselage and scribed a new panel line in front of the cockpit window. Here are some photos of the change and after the painting. 22. Hi, I made various mixes of blue and i ended up in using the following mix: Tamiya X14* 5 + Tamiya X4 * 2 + Tamiya white * 2 In terms of painting, I first applied the above formula, then I applied another coat withe the same mix except for the white and finaly I applied a final coat with the initial mix. Best regards, Octávio
  23. Thanks very much for your comment! The pitot tube being aluminium makes sense! Best regards, Octávio
  24. Hi, I was looking at the 1/48 instructions from Eduard and the specify that the section right next to the wind sheild had diferent reinforcements (?). In the following photo, there seems to be 3 diferent options: - A- with no reinforcements; - B - with a lateral reinforcement (2) and the upper panel seems to be sectioned (1); - C - with a lateral reinforcement only (2). Spit_MK_diferent_motor_cover by ZlinXII, no Flickr Analyzing the photo of WZ-T: - it looks to me that this particular aircraft was the same as option B or C. Any suggestions? Which option do you tinhk is more correct? - Also the pitot tube under the wing that is painted black seems to be painted white? Or was this photo taken before they painted the ubderside fuselage white and black? wzt3 - Cópia by ZlinXII, no Flickr Best regards, Octávio
