  1. Been a loooonnngggg time since I built anything, needed a kit from my huge stash to get me back into the swing of it: - The base kit was an old T-72b from Zevzda which was awful to say the least! I bought a Eduard photoetch kit to spruce up what little detail there was and added a SBS turret to complete the look. A few other details were homemade not perfect but I'm happy with the result after long break from the hobby, The initial build: - Painting starts: - Decals and weathering: - Finished article:-
  2. Simply gorgeous! Can't wait to get started on mine 😀
  3. It is indeed a Legend set, didn't want to go too over the top with the stowage. Kept the rest for a future Sherman project.
  4. Finally finished! It spent the best part of a year sat on a shelf unloved. I'm pleased with how this one turned out: -
  5. The kit itself wasn't too much hassle to put together, only thing that I had real issues with was the fit between the gun mantlet cover and the mantlet itself. I ended up chopping 5mm out the plastic around the bottom to widen it.
  6. It's been sitting on a shelf in my workshop for a while now so I best get it finished: - Base layers done and ready for some more weathering
  7. Lovely work I've got a Panzer I in my stash from Tristar with interior to do
  8. My first Russian 4B0 build, straight out of the box apart from a set of AFV Club tracks and homemade tow cables. Tried some new techniques on this one using Mig and AK enamels to create the weathering effects, only thing I would change is to add a few highlights to some of the panels. Overall I'm very pleased with the result: -
  9. Bit of progress, finished off the jeep this week. Most of the dusting done with a mix of Tamiya's XF-52 + XF-57 and a light dusting of my favorite earth pigment from Mig productions, P028 Europe Dust. Also started building a little base using an old Italeri building I had lying around: - A coat of Vallejo Matt Polyurethane Varnish 'sealed' the deal and a final test fit of the figure before painting: - Used some of Ak's Diorama acrylic terrain to form a basis and gave it a quick once over with some primer once I was happy: -
  10. Found them on eBay, came from China so probably a knock off of a well known brand 😅
  11. Thank you for the kind comments The Halifax is quite possibly the worst kit I've ever attempted to put together! Just plain awful. Made a bit of progress: - Done a bit of pre dusting before gluing the tub to the chassis Assembled some of the figures with a bit of a test fit: - And got the decals in place ready for further weathering: -
  12. I often think that with a lot of my projects 😅 Take the Halifax in the background for example, it'll get finished... one day Primed up a lot of pieces: - First coat of olive drab: - Tub and chassis based up: - And time of a spot of detail painting: - Highlight colour sprayed and seats went in: - Starting to look like a jeep now!: -
  13. Looking good Rob! I've got a T-54 in my stash waiting to be built, it'll be interesting to see how yours turns out
  14. So I decided I needed something a bit fun and a bit quick to build Behold! Tamiya's 1/35 Jeep Looks nice a simple And I decided to add a few extras, some US Airborne figures I picked up a while back Because of the way this kit goes together I decided to build and paint all the sub assembly's separate starting with the chassis, which in typical Tamiya fashion goes together beautifully With a spot of primer. All ready for painting Seating all assembled ready for a primer coat Couldn't get the dash to fit properly with the use of some clamps
  15. Had this one sat on my shelf for a while looking a bit sorry so I thought it be about time I finished her: - Used a combination of flory washes, enamels and to create the weathering on this one. Overall I'm pleased with the result being the first of my ventures into modern AFV's (Excuse the wonky smoke discharger 😂)
  16. Decals went on okay with the aid of some setting solution, however they were that old they had gone yellow and did not move easily. Probably the only thing I wasn't happy with on this one.
  17. For such an old kit I'm fairly impressed with how well this went together, everything went together as it should with a really solid fit. I wanted a dirty and well worn P-47 and I am really happy with how this one turned out. Went with an out of the box build on this one but with the addition of Aber's brass turned .50 cal's to replace the snapped plastic items that where present on the kit.
  18. So this one is part of the the way through the build, base coat has already been applied and ready for weathering:- The base kit is Academy's M-51, I've added Eduard's etched detailing set and also added some bits from Legend's resin stowage set. I'm surprised how wide the running gear is on this!!

    Hi all

Returning to the hobby after a long, long break, started a good 20 years ago and it sort of fizzled out as I got older. I've a got a shed load (I literally do mean a shed load! 😂) of kits consisting of armor and aircraft. Recently just finished an old 1/48 MI-24P and I'm quite pleased with results: - Currently got a 1/35 IDF M51 Sherman under construction and a 1/48 P-47D Thunderbolt. I'm looking forward to sharing the results 😃
