  1. She's looking good in primer, with hopefully only a few minor bits to sort out? That's interesting about the bat wing scheme being on multiple aircraft, like you I thought it was a one-off James
  2. It's coming along nicely, Adam, and thanks for the warning about the small top bit on the cowlings. I'd hoped to add them (and that piece) after paint, I might have to change my mind now. I'm also planning on tacking the main canopy & nose glazing in place to fit the guns later, so much less risk of breaking one that way! Did the ventral gun window fit ok on your example? Mine's needed a fair bit of filler, but that might just be down to an error on my part James
  3. That's a superb Uhu, Dermot! Well done for getting such a nice result out of an old kit, and thank you for joining us with two great builds James
  4. That's looking very nice in primer, like Craig I'm also looking forward to the paint James
  5. That's looking very nice with the decals on, and take 2 of the mottle looks to have been much more successful James
  6. I go away for a few days, and this one absolutely leaps ahead! Very nice work, Alan, she's a fine looking model James
  7. That's coming together well now, and I really like the added brake lines. A small thing that makes a big difference James
  8. That's come together very quickly, Pete James
  9. She's coming along very nicely, and not far off completion by the looks of things. The black square is actually the intake for the engine, I'm not sure why they did it that way on the port side but had the intake trunk on the starboard (which is the same for all Bf 110's, so it wasn't down to the exhuast routing that yours has) James
  10. I'm glad that was an easy fix after the unintended test-flight, she's looking very nice and I'd have hated to see your hard work destroyed James
  11. This one's looking very good now, John, I really like the painted markings. I wasn't that far from you this weekend, I was up in Bulwell. It's interesting to see the comment about warm tea temperature water in that link @2996 Victor, as I've started doing that on my last few builds and it makes decals from any source slide off the paper nicely. I use a big mug for decalling, so I boil the kettle and fill it up like I'm making a cup of tea, then add as much cold water from the tap as I would milk. James
  12. Which was a real shame, and also ludicrous when you consider how good the Rover (ex-Buick) V8 was/is. Fun fact, the Dolomite engine was further developed by Saab, and ultimately ended up forming the basis of the engine in the 9-3 Turbo models. Allegedly they still bolt up to the Triumph gearbox, so if you fancy a REALLY fast Dolomite Sprint… James
  13. You're making a great job of this one, Pete, and making me want to build mine I've also got the same problem with the curly strips on the wings, but my kit was purchased directly from Airfix in January, so it's clearly a "feature" of the kit James
  14. These things happen @vppelt68, but it's good to have you back I too have been a bit remiss over the weekend, but I was 170 miles away from home so I think I can be excused James
  15. That's looking very nice, Mark! Enjoy the trip James
  16. @Pajarito, MRP have MRP-110 Dark Green, MRP-112 Medium Sea Grey, and MRP-113 Dark Sea Grey in their range. However, those are to the WW2 era colours, I'm not sure how much difference there is between the shades used in WW2 and the time of the Black Buck raids. James
  17. Welcome aboard! Another Phantom is always a good thing James
  18. That's great progress, Alan, and (as Craig said) you're adding in an awful lot of additional detail. All of which looks very good James
  19. It might have been a longer build, but it was worth it, mate. She's a great looking model that you should be very proud of James
  20. That's some pretty comprehensive research, Richard James
  21. Thanks mate I'm sure it'll be an easy job to sort the tail, but one for next week as I'm away this weekend James
