  8. Just a slight difference in size between them! Both look fantastic James
  9. Thanks Alan This one's had a minor mishap. I was moving it off the bench to work on another model when it slipped out of my hands and took an unplanned first flight. Thankfully the damage appears to be limited to just the BFG having come adrift, seemingly just popping out of its internal mounting points. However, I’m not sure how I fix it. I can’t see what’s going on inside the model to align it from the outside, and certainly can’t glue it back in place from outside. But the panel over the weapons bay was glued on with TET, so I think the chances of popping it off are nil. I’ve got a feeling I’m going to have to cut it off with a razor saw, very, very carefully. And the panel line isn't straight, it has a hump in it halfway along, just to make it even more interesting. James
  10. I'm agreeing with Craig, that's beautifully weathered, John. I'm using VMS varnishes now, cut 50/50 with their own thinners. That brings them down to around the same consistency as the MRP lacquers, but they're water based and quick drying. James
  11. That could have been a lot worse. At least it's fixable, and the excess glue can always be cleaned up when it's fully set James
  12. That's looking great, Pete @Wings unlevel, I reckon the way to go (as I plan to do on my Valiant) is black basing. Get all the variation in the marble layer, then blend with a thinned coat of white over the top James
  13. That's looking good, Gerard. What's so infamous about the wingtips? James
  14. I'm happy to hear this one was saved from it's unintended test flight. It's really coming to life with all the little additions now James
  15. Welcome Given the beautiful models you've built for the WW2 Twins, I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with some later aircraft if this one makes the cut. You're quite right on the service requirements, Rob. Having said that, I'm running the Project Cancelled GB that starts in a couple of months, and a TSR-2 would be VERY welcome there James
  16. You're off to a good start with the painting, Adam. Is that another Do 17 I see in the background as well? James
  17. Very nice work with the insides of the airbrake, Bill, I'd be more than happy with that myself. Looks like you're also making a nice job of the rhinoplasty James
  18. This is going to be a really colourful model when it's finished, Stuart James
  19. That looks like a prop that's been to hell and back, I love it! James
  20. The primer looks nice and smooth, Pete James
  21. She's looking VERY nice with the decals on As for airbrushing thin paint, a smaller needle and lower pressure is the way to go. I've not used that gloss myself, but I've used a lot of the MRP range which are really thin. I find a 0.2mm needle and about 10psi works well with them James
  22. Nice to see this one still floating it's way to completion James
