not true! they have a BIG door at the back which can be opened in flight. Then they can get a dozen or so 'urks' to stick their heads out the back door and with the MkI eyeball, assissted with Zeiss Binos, jobs a gud 'un

After some difficulty getting 02 last year, I got in touch with White Ensign. (my personal preferance). WEM paint is from same source as Xtracolor, however there are differences with pigments used, hence the difference in hue. If WEM is unavailable (AC LW 12), then use Italian Grigio Azzurro Chiaro, which they told me was exactly the same colour. So I ordered some, and damn me if it was not true. Xtracolor is more towards the Grey than Green spectrum White Ensign is more towards Green, which I believe is should be. So I would respectfully suggest that, if the aircraft in question is fresh from paint shop, use Xtracolor, if its been around for a while, use WEM. Alternativley, use both to give the impression of weathering. It works very well, I have used this mothod on a number of occasions. Mr Hobby Aqueous Hobby Colour H070 can also be considered. At the moment, I am using a great deal of Mr Hobby with good effect and can be used much same as enamel ie using cellulose (lacquer) thinner. Honest is works a treat. Finally, if you can get on with them, Lifecolor acrylic Confused Bottom line is.......... who the hell knows what the actual colour is ? providing its not a bus ride out....... does it matter ? The choice of paint is down to the individual, personally, you can'y go far wrong using any of the named above.

Just got back from Cottesmore A real sad day to see them for the last time, but at least I made it. Nearly turned into a complete balls up as passenger left it to the last minute although we were only 15 mins away. Saw last 12 land and taxi past us. Farmer made a mint, charging £5 a car to park and then troll across 2 fields, right up to the fence near 22. Great viewing. (even if Farmer Giles is a robbing sweetheart) Better late than never. Only had mobile on me so pictures are not too good. Not a dry eye in the house tonight I bet.........

Well......... I know they were (Harriers) overhead about 14:30 but could not see them as cloud base too lower............. bugger! Will just have to nip over to Cottesmore tomorrow to say my farewells
-
Isn't it just typical........... Shafted yet again

Friend sent me this yesterday After the government’s recent decision 2 axe the amazing Harrier jump jet , there will be a once in a lifetime chance on Weds Dec 15 (date to be confirmed on 13 Dec) to see 16 Harriers flying in a diamond formation on their final outing. The flypast will be on route of Wyton, Wittering, Cranwell, Waddington, Scampton, Coningsby & Cottesmore. Should be an emotional day. It is the JFH FCs intent to finish all Harrier flying with a flypast of 16 ac in diamond formation. The plan is to fly the formation at 1000’ on the following route: Wyton, Wittering, Cranwell, Waddington, Scampton, Coningsby and Cottesmore. The date will be the 15th Dec 10 with back up days of 14th and 16th, a weather call being made on Mon 13th. Timings are being aimed at commencing the flypasts at 1330hrs however if weather dictates then the time may flex." http://forums.airshows.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=28814

I agree, it is expensive for many, markup making it more so. Then again, is it not the only show in town?

Bought one of these at SMW10 for £71 actually from PJ Productions However, the mark up from Yellow emporium is significant http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/PJ481005 On close scrutiny, there is a potential issue. The DERA serial is missing carrier film rendering the decal unuseable. Been intouch with PJ and many of the decals in stock were much the same. They are sending replacements, and responded VERY quickly, which is great So if anyone has also bought one, best check if the decal sheet is also NFG.

Interesting, wordy comparison of Harrier v Tornado in somewhere hot and sandy http://thephoenixthinktank.wordpress.com/2...ested-interest/ so what you you do?

Used David for quite sometime now. had a few hiccups, but never anything to worry about. only issue really is the good old PO. Most of the time no problem, then just very occasionally, the buggers look like they have sent the parcel to the next galaxy and back. Other than that, give him a go -
sweet F.A. as usual
