RAF spend small fortune on Typhoon re-paint for D-Day celibrations
CCC replied to CCC's topic in Real Aviation
I was being facetious. If the yanks or say Dutch had done it, it would have been a full art paint job. Look at the new Tucano, ooooo must have spent minutes on that job -

Suggest that the primer might be reacting with what I assume is plastic? If so, suggest you use Halford's white plastic primer. If you are applying to whitemetal, there should be no problem, however Halford's white primer works Have been using Halford's paints and primers for years and hand no problems other than those self inflicted Same with Zero paints, but then again, I always use Halford's primers sometimes used straight from the rattle can, or decanted for use in airbrush. Hope that helps?

Did this in around 2006. 1/48 Hasagawa 109G with I think Cutting Edge decals All the airbrush work was done by hand, and the was the first time I ever tried something shall we say 'complicated' After a GREAT deal of research, the colours were finailised on RLM77 upperbase overlaid with various shades of RLM78. Lower RLM76 The build etc was supposed to be in SAM with the help Falkeens, but never happend Won a gong (best in show?) for it at a modelshow somewhere Anyway.......... enjoy? Much later on, I did these. Not quite on track I know but............

Does anyone have a 1/32 Revell JU-88/A4 ? If so, is there any chance of a copy (photo?) of the instructions that covers the rear canopy assembly? I need this so that I may order replacement parts to use with my A1. Got a big job on for a conversion. I promise photos when I am done......... honest
-
I think that pretty much answers the question But a Gripen in splinter............ oooooooo ya bogger I just go to have a go at that. Never seen these photos before Anymore?
-
Just bought KH offering of the JAS 39 Gripen, and it seems ok, but....... I recall yonks back, seeing the mainplane being laidup at BAe Salmesbury and cannot recall seeing and rivets at all. Bearing in mind it is carbon composite, should there be any rivets? The kit is covered in them. Have trolled around internet and cannot find any photos show rivets on mainplane, fuselage yes. Anyone got and first hand knowledge?

Lots of nice photos............................. many jets though http://www.flickr.com/photos/cenciotti/page1/ http://theaviationist.com/

I use cellulose thinner and it works just fine. Added bonus is that this will help to etch the surface of the plastic, thus making the paint more durable
-
very good. have used it on many occasions of late when I needed a quick dry gloss finish. leave it to harden off and then polish all the crows out with micromesh.
-
But what is now going to happen to Wittering if F-35 goes to Marham?
-
just flush out with cellulose thinner. Don't let residue build up behind needle, it can be a bugger to get a/b apart if you leave it too long. sometimes I do blow a drop of ISO through, very useful if you are changing from any cellulose tolerant paint to pure acrylic. I have same airbrush and very pleased with the results with acrylics, also have an Ultra which is better for blowing on higher volume of paint. However, still prefer Iwata HP-BH for fine work, such as Luftwaffe camo schemes

Was considering getting the re-issue of the Italeri Kfir in 1/48. But does anyone know if it is any good or what? Is the Eduard Mirage series based on this kit? What are the panel lines like? I have the Isracast C7 resin update, so was wondering if to go with the Italeri kit of use an Eduard Mirage instead. What do the 'experts' think?
