  1. Love this little tank and really want to build one but scared of this kit! Good luck, the pe already looks good. Paul
  2. Wwwwhat! That is Incredible….for a man without a stash now one addition takes up all the room…. Curious to know what one you’ll be picking to build first?
  3. Thanks Mike… not sure on the gloves meself as would have been a bit impractical and seriously grubby but was just following the box art. Cheers Paul
  4. Hi all, Here is my scale 75 nepolenic old guard. All painted with Vallejo model colours acrylic paints. I made the base from an ikea wooden coaster and the gabion out of electric wire, I added a bit of static grass, bush tuft and milliput cannon balls. My first in this scale and really enjoyed it. All feedback and comments welcome. Thanks for looking in. Paul
  5. Brilliant job Stef! The mongrel tiger looks amazing, the zimmerit and paint job, plus the scene and figure all make it brilliant.
  6. Thanks all but will be stirring clear of what ifs, defo aiming for one based on actuality. With the takom late production boxing they seem to give 6 schemes with three being actually based on real life options (these were the three that caught my eye) and three being what if. Hence the 2 in one boxing, that’s the option, produced or not. The what if has all the ir and other editions listed above. I actually found that it was a mig ammo reboxing (they did it as a limited run) and so the schemes printed on super hobby for this boxing was much much clearer. So still debating (in my head) which one to do the octopus (as Bob says who knows what went on in those last days) or the 111 from the 502 abt. Which is a good spotty ambush scheme which may suit the tracks I have and decal option from star decal. Plus never done the ambush scheme before so at least new to me. It’s 50/50 at the mo with plenty time left to decide luckily.
  7. Hey nice one with the primer find, love using up stuff you forgot you had. It’s done the trick their. Also might give those ak tufts a go, they come in handy. All in all Stef you should be well chuffed with the whole scene.
  8. Thanks Bob! I had heard a few of them were what ifs but hoped the one from padderborn might have been a real option the red brown diagonal hard edged one is definitely a ‘what if’. Funnily enough it’s the octopus that was planning to do but I bought the wrong metal tracks for this 🤬🤬 I thought with it being late production or even last production those type of tracks would be right but turns out they left Kassel with the less wide transport tracks. I saw the paderborn scheme and thought it looked similar but might have been a late track option….. so back to the drawing bored. I have two options: one cracking on with wrong tracks and ignoring the problem or picking another scheme, I’m thinking 101 or 311 from the 506 abt in ambush camo…. I had this nailed over a year ago so it’s a bit frustrating now and really wanted to do the octopus camo. But thanks for your comments as all info helps at this stage. Paul
  9. Would any one have this kit? I’ve been looking at potential camo schemes and really like the look of a few from this kit but the online pics are really unclear and hard to make out….if someone had this would the do me a big favour and post up pics of the camo schemes listed at the back of the instruction sheet? thanks very muchly, Paul
  10. Looks cracking! Like the base, helps set the scene and the figure in the centre saying “I can park anywhere I like in Asda car park!”
  11. Excellent work! The figures but have been very difficult to paint at this scale with oils but has paid off really well and look brilliant. Love the roller and it’s weathering. Paul
  12. I haven’t actually used a plaster pre made base before but I don't think so… might be worth priming with a rattle can first, as might save airbrush time and a few quid. Just to seal it in, as even hardened plaster can be a tad absorbent. It you wanted to keep it all grass then maybe some track indents and ruts made from das or some epoxy (I usually sling some cling film over the top of whatever putty or clay and then impress the tracks etc).
  13. Wow for someone who hasn’t painted a figure in decades he turned out excellent! Looking forwards to see the base with it too.
  14. Absolutely! Defo works. Id quite like to do that heavily worn look myself. More interesting to look at.
  15. Really really like this one. Beautiful bit of execution here. Paul
  16. Well done Lee, looks great. Glad to see you back at it. The netting/camo on the turrets is very well done 👍
  17. Bit late on this one but really glad to see you back at it…. You need to do some armour next though! Come back to the dark side. Paul
  18. Chipping effects!! Anyone??? …. Sorry I had to… taxi for Murphy!
  19. Love the weathering on the spuds. What modulation set did you use?
  20. Finally finished! I still wanted to record the process as a bit of guide for myself and future builds as well. So… I started with pre shading: Then two coats of main colour painting: Had a mare with over thinned w and n gloss varnish which pooled up: I had to carefully strip some back with alcohol and a cotton but but still managed to knock some of the paint off in spots. I repainted areas as best I could then used gloss spray rattle can varnish which came out better and then added decals: Then oil filters: blues and greys at the bottom and a bit of Sandy/dust colours. Sandy and dust colours on top side: Added gun smoke and engine exhaust streaks with black oil: Then chipped in with silver from mig ammo and a pin wash with raw umber oils: Then sealed it all in with Matt varnish… finally done with addition of the glass bits: A link below to the finished product: Thanks all for a great gb and for looking in. All feedback and comments welcomed. Paul
  21. Hello all, I was working on this one since last year as part of the I feel deserted gb, I didn’t finish the p40 off in time for the gallery so I’ve posted it here. I actually finished a few weeks ago but hadn’t done the photos til now. Not really a plane guy but gave it a go and enjoyed it. My first 1/48 aircraft. The scene is based on a rescue mission of sorts. The dingo has enlisted the armoured help of the crusader tank (with its tow cable) and gone looking for the p40. The p40 has landed with mechanical faults somewhere in the desert. The pilot has gone missing, trying to make it back to base, wondering into the blue. He’s left a very British and cryptic note for any potential followers to find and aid his rescue, it’s the note pinned to the side of the base and inside the cockpit. The note on the side below: The crusader is tamiya made up as a mk1. I added stowage from red dog: The dingo is also tamiya: I scratched up a radio for the inside: The two tank crew figures are white metal from David Parkins ( I thought they were well amazingly crafted and a total treat to paint, highly recommend). The p40 tomahawk iib is from academy with additional cockpit detailing and extra bits from AML. You might be able to just make out the note inside the cockpit. It’s all brush painted with a mixture of acrylics and the scenic base I made up myself. Link to the Wip below: All feedback and comments are welcome. Thanks for looking in. Paul
