  1. Brilliant work here Maddox. The base is excellent, very neat and great finish. Looks dark and stylistic, very ww1 Paul
  2. Ive only got a couple of those but they are great. I’ll have to get some more. I think the ak 3rd gen flesh colour in particular looks more lively and vibrant than the Vallejo one I use. 🤔
  3. I was just going to ask if you were enjoying it too. Great job on them. What paints do you use for the figures? I liked the dusty effects on the flak gun the first time around and the base really set it off. Paul
  4. Yeah maybe… internalised debate with myself … schizophrenic modeller… who said that?
  5. I got around to checking and looks good. Going by the diagrammed instructions it seems to have the rain guard covers and capola ring (it’s only a half ring though is that right?) not 100% on the voyager front mud guards, think it looks right but I’ll have a double check once I get cracking (it’ll be easier to see what’s what then.) Cheers Paul
  6. I’ve been after building a Siegfried line diorama consisting of a bunker, dragons teeth, diy trees and foliage for two years now. I was supposed to stop after the vehicles (m3 scout car, WLA Harley Davidson and ambulance Willy’s jeep) and the nine figures were done but I’ve started on the base now! Summing the will to stop when I’m about 65% done! I’ll see where I am at the end of the week and go from their.
  7. I said to myself no big projects before the tiger stgb, just keep myself ticking by with small bits and pieces…. No big projects Paul…I want to focus. Keep the bench clear of big projects. Don’t commit to a big project just before march 30th… one build at a time. No dioramas multiple figures, multiple vehicles. Press pause on any big projects just in time…. Guess what I’ve just stated…. A big project!….might be a bit late on this one.
  8. I had the charity ad sad voice in my head when I read it.
  9. Hey this looks good, agree with the above comments, that’s a whole lotta kit for a small kitty!! Good luck. Paul
  10. Nice one Bob! I’ll have a sift through tonight and see. With a bit of luck they might be their. Atb Paul
  11. Hobbyboss also brought out a kt in the octopus scheme last year: https://www.scalemodelshop.co.uk/1-35-pz-kpfw-vi-sd-kfz-182-tiger-ii-ht-105mm-84559-hobbyboss/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw2PSvBhDjARIsAKc2cgO-7pz-GwKjbPctdl9NMu7fn4VNVU7ZzR_d6Yfqg7q0Nz59sgTlIBIaAkr1EALw_wcB I didn’t fancy the decal rings either, as Bob says, their far too neat. I’m no expert but the green I found for this one/closest I could find is the mig ammo olivegrun option 2 (it’s slightly darker than opt 1). It’s a ral 6003.
  12. Cheers Bob. It’s a good pic and seen a few great models of this very one (burnt turret and all). I’ll have to pay attention to those mud guards. Might have to mock up the rain shields for the gun sights as not sure if the pe kit covers it. But that should be ok. Same for the mg ring on the cupola. Paul
  13. Feel free to borrow away… it’s a pretty unique scheme alright.
  14. Another placeholder: My second build will be a zvezda 1/35 king tiger: I’ll be adding voyager side skirts, an Eduard Pe set and r-models metal tracks. I’d like to hand paint the octopus camo scheme like the one seen below; Zvezda might seem like a bit of an odd choice (considering academy do a kit for the octopus)but it’s actually an ex-dragon boxing. The detail is fairly sharp and the moulding crisp. Although I couldn’t dealing with the mesh they supply for the engine deck grills and may also ditch the string for tow cables. One of the rarer shots of the abandoned/wrecked octopus scheme kt at Fritzlar autobahn over pass: Bit of situ info about the 511 below: Mine will be one of the listed 6 which came out the Henschel factory in Kassel in 1945. But not the one in the picture above as this has transport tracks and the ones I got are the two part cross country, wider track… I’m taking it that the factory had run out of the others and fitted anything to get it going! I’d like to add a bit of damage plus fairly heavy weathering and hatches will be buttoned up. I’ve a figure set and a dio planned but that’ll be later in the year. Best bit is theirs no need for zim with either build, so saves a task. All the best, Paul
  15. Placeholder: Time to get my big boy pants on and pretend I’m a proper grown up…it’s my first dragon kit: Theirs so much…. Stuff in the box and the part count terrifies me. The detailing is awesome and why I chose it is because David Bryden advised dragon on its design. I’d say it looks to be a seriously accurate early from a fair bit of research. Despite the upgrade of magic tracks I’m not not going to wait for the “Paul Daniel’s moment” to occur and got some early production metal tracks from sanxin. I’ll be going with the scheme for gd in Kharkov (turret number 7). I like the panzer grey turret bin and gun. Looks a bit mismatched. I’ll be using, the guided, mr hobby aqueous for its colours and pose with hatches open. I’ll be trying hard to keep the weathering more light than my usual style of nearly at the knackers yard. I’m thinking that maybe this will be the first of two builds for this gb, my second, on the other hand, will be an almost destroyed kt. No dio or figures for this one… not yet anyway as want to try concentrate on the build itself. Paul
  16. Good choice! Theirs some nice pictures of tikki available… bit of debate on its colour though. Paul
  17. Very very nice choice… I was waiting to see what you’d pick…. I heard you saying it could be a jt or kt. That box art livery is pretty cool and like the look of the das werk kits.
  18. Like, like, like… I’ve done one borders models kit and it was a very nice build. enjoy!
  19. Great kit! This one will be good to follow along with. Paul
  20. For me personally hb is not my sort of kit and the reason why is they add around six more parts to every subassembly which isn’t really nescary. Where just one part in an equivalent tamiya kit would suffice. Their can be fit issues and unclear instructions… which I found on their leichter 221. But again this is my personal experience and everyone has differing opinions…. Problem is they cover ground that other manufacturers some times don’t. For instance I want to build an FAV but they are they only option for this. So until someone else makes one I’m stuck with it. Paul
  21. Great little dio or vignette (which ever you prefer)! I really share your pain on the hobbyboss front!! I’ve had a few I’d like to cut in half. Figure and turret look ace and the overall presentation is immaculately neat. Great job 👍 Paul
  22. Great work here Keith, love the engine and the chipping especially. Also a pretty damm decent od colour too! Nice one. Paul
