Easy just start with some chipping then follow with filters and a pin wash, you can also use oils to blend all the colours together.. finish with dust and mud.
There are lots of videos on YouTube, look for Martin Kovac Nightshift his technique is amazing.
What Matt varnish is best out of a can?
I going old school and using Tamiya TS sprays on a few kits I have purchased.I have a can of AK varnish but it leaves a bad finish.
Cheers.
Thanks for your replies.
If I was going down the 1/48 route I would probably only go for the Afv club offering or just seen a Suyata Panther with full interior but just can't justify paying £40 for that as I will be brush painting the whole model.
Anyone built any Rubicon kits?
I was building 1/35 kits last year but it was getting far too expensive and taking up too much room.
I have my eye on their King Tiger with interior kit and for that scale the detail looks very good, this would be for modelling only not interested in table top games as such.I also found some great Fallschirmjager tank riders figures that would look fab sitting on the KT.
It's not the lack of varnish but the lack of a primer, you need something for the base coat to adhere to that's why some of the paint has lifted.
Prime
Base coat
Gloss/semi gloss

Looks like a Ausf A but turret number no clue.
But looking at the turret it has 4 hooks that held the spare tracks so I guess the number might of been painted on the tracks.
It is often over looked by modelers who build Tigers with smoke grenade launchers that they don't attach any wiring to them,I have done it myself in the past.
I always thought the main wire went through the turret side wall just behind the brackets but it runs along the top bracket and enters on top of the turret.
