Sorry my original post breached the rules, it wasn't intentional. To give an update airfix didn't have a spare canopy, ammonia didn't shift the gloss coat. I ended cup sanding it with a harsh wet a dry paper then using an Aldi headlight polishing kit to polish it out. It's not perfect but it's alot better than it was Thanks to all who gave suggestions.
