  1. Not my usual area of interest so please forgive my ignorance, What is the best 1/48 Spitfire Vb/Vc Tropical kit available and what are the differences between the two marks, I’m led to believe it’s something to do with the gun set up within the wings. Thanks in advance

    Disregard

    Sorry posted in wrong section🤫
  3. Should be XV575, which appeared at all the shows you mentioned.
  4. Either of the Blk52+\Advanced kits will do, they both come with all the parts. The Kinetic kits come with shed loads of weapons where the Hasegawa one doesn’t. I personally prefer the Hasegawa kits.
  5. BS381C specifies colours used in identification, coding and other special purposes, especially in the military..... BS4800 specifies colours of paint for building and construction works. This is a key reference for specifying a particular paint colour to use in the refurbishment of buildings – especially at Local Authority level or for major works, such as office blocks, airports, schools and hospitals. So are BS381c-389 ‘Camouflage Beige’ BS4800-10B21 ‘Lizard Grey’, the same colour just with different names to differentiate them between the two standards?
  6. Seat on the left is mag forward.
  7. BS381c isn’t a colour it’s a standard that applies to a collective of colours. 389 is the actual colour identifier. If you were to quote the full and proper name it would be BS381c-389- camouflage beige BS4800 is another collection of colours but there is some crossover between the two. If your interested do a google search to find out what the difference is between the two standards.
  8. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has dipped canopies in Klear, after painting the frames etc... and if there is anything I should be aware of? 🙏
  9. Inside side towards the centre console. Barrels down and pistol grip/magazine facing the front of a/c.
  10. I’m fairly sure that the T-Birds were only ever operated by VMAT-203 except a single(I think), example by NASA and another by VX-23 at Pax River.
  11. Yes you are quite correct, I got rather ahead of myself with my answer.😆. By the time they went wrapround they were flying the AV-8B. I’ve amended my original answer accordingly👍🏻 Sorry for any confusion.
  12. Would depend on the timeframe. From delivery up until the late 70's early 80's, it would've been 34079 Green and 36118 Grey uppers with 36440 lower. It then changed to 34064 Green/36099 Grey uppers and 36440 lowers, which is the same scheme that the AV-8B’s first wore as per your other other thread. Eventually the 36440 was dropped and they went wrapround, but only on T/AV-8B’s. As for decals, Caracal did a sheet but I think it covered only AV-8A's?
  13. I’ve been contemplating with the idea of using this Black Dog set myself, so watching this build with interest👍🏻
  14. AV-8B's were Dark Green FS34064 and Dark Gray FS36099 wraparound , some of the earlier ones had FS36440 on the undersides, but I'm sure the AV-8B(NA) would all be wraparound.
  15. Nice, some great schemes were adorned on the Greek T Birds👍🏻🇬🇷
  16. Just to correct some errors within this thread. All GR-1Bs were initially delivered in the standard Green/Grey scheme. They continued in this scheme for some time before they started to appear in the DSG uppers and DCG lower and vertical surfaces probably late 90’s. The rest of the fleet went Grey when they went through GR-4 upgrade,
  17. It would appear that both noses are in the kit. The R nose is on the second sprue and the PAN nose is a separate piece altogether.
  18. No need for an apology. The whole point in these forums is for individuals to pass on their knowledge and opinions and different references etc.... that way all available information can be used and hopefully at the end we all get the correct answer👍🏻
  19. That’s looking sweet, spot on in every way. Out of curiosity, what kit is the F-104C?
  20. That’s an ‘A’ You’d probably just be as well getting the Hasegawa F-15E kit, then use the spare cash to get an AM cockpit and exhausts. The Hasegawa kit is a decent kit, just not as an ‘E’.
  21. Does/did the Baz ever operate without the Fast Packs?
  22. I researched the 'Baz', a few years back for a future build, and although I managed to accrue all the bits, it ultimately didn't happen and I sold everything off as a single lot. Is this picture you saw https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DUybAZUXcAEOfJ0?format=jpg&name=large The ECM pod is the Elta 8212/8222 and would probably be on the Fast Pack(CFT's), port rear station in the above pic, although I've seen them more often on the front port station. Then there's this one https://cdn.jetphotos.com/full/2/98672_1241468936.jpg AGM-142 Have Nap on the Starboard(nothing else could be carried on the shoulder pylons when this was mounted) Data Link pod on Centreline Port Fast Pack rear station looks like an ELTA 8212 ECM pod Port wing inboard shoulder pylon Python 4(maybe a 5) Port wing outboard shoulder pylon Python 3( note the extended adapter rail to allow clearance of the rear fins on the missile) Port wing pylon, standard drop tank Paragon Designs used to do all of the above, but since they've gone out of business I'm not sure who does what nowadays? Note that the Fast Pack CFT's are different from those found on the F-15E/I, but they can be found in Hasegawa's early F-15E Strike Eagle kit. Since around about 2010, the Baz's started to appear with the R2D2 radome behind the canopy, some sort of Sat link, not sure if anyone does this in aftermarket. For the decals I purchased the Isradecal IAF-079 sheet which covers everything. Regards alternative loadouts.... if it goes bang and is Israeli you'll be fine, other than that JDAM's and GBU's along with AMRAAM's could be used, although I think the Israeli weapons are by far more interesting. 23. Probably not in all honesty, but who’s going to tell you different and back it up with solid evidence.
