  1. We seem to have an abundance of incoming Draken vids at the moment. A freshly released walkaround vid:
  2. And normal service is resumed whilst someone has some more time on their hands for shall we say further research?
  3. Bizarre? Harrumph, pretty bloody good design in my humble opinion:
  4. Thanks Gents, I really, really hate etched brass belts! Especially with Aires's really, really vague instructions. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Quinta or Kelik to produce a cockpit set. The Hasegawa kit would not need much more than that.
  5. To be honest, having had a look at contemporary images online, there are visibly different widths/diameters and tread patterns in the images I found. There was certainly enough lack of uniformity to make either of your options correct!
  6. Been a while since I last posted, but I've not been idle. Aires cockpit finished. Will be buttoning it up later
  7. And the privacy policy - https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/privacy/
  8. Suicide by mod eh? Are you just as indignant and silly in the real world or is it just behind a keyboard that you lose all inhibitions and let all of the stupid out? Noting that you are in the Netherlands, if internet forums existed in 1939/1940, what would be the likelihood of members showing Polish, Czechoslovakian, Belgian, Dutch or Free French flags as their avatars? Would you be surprised and aggrieved like you are here? Your post: If you can’t reconcile the no political posts requirements of this site, with your very unacceptable post where you insulted a whole population about their choice or lack thereof of selecting a Dictator, then there ain’t much hope for you. There are some pretty good people in Russia, despite as you so inaccurately put it their “careless voting”, we have some of those decent people on here as members. How would you think they feel about their life, country and lifestyle collapsing around them? What about themselves or their families who are in danger of forced conscription? And that’s before we even get to the Ukrainian experience. You also broke the forum rule about swearing. Small bananas compared to the Ukraine conflict, but a handy filter to show those with little self restraint in regards to ability to abide by the rules. What I am going to do now is put your membership in suspended animation for trolling, because that’s just what your post was. The three of us will then get to exercise our dictatorship, sorry democracy in voting as to whether it’s a carry on, further suspension or ban for you. don’t hold your breath…
  9. Still working through and getting my head around the post processing malarky. A few more shots and a revisit to the DC-3 with a slightly different image in order to bring out the sky. All these were from the last trade day. Very impressed with the Kawasaki C-2 for its size and agility. Besides which, the JASDF really know how to paint their aircraft to make the schemes both practical and pleasing to the eye.
  10. Just discovered that the Aires flaperons are significantly undersized. Good job I kept the Hasegawa plastic after cutting them from the structure... 😳
  11. Looking good. 50% through the removal of the elevons myself. Got the fuselage prepped for the Aires cockpit and the casting plugs off the resin parts. Even managed to get the etched seat belts on despite Aires best efforts to confuse you with their instructions... I like what you have done with the wheel bays, it doesnt look like its worth the effort to squeeze the Aires ones in, yours look better.
  12. Looks like an AH-64DI Saraf in the works But what boxing is going to be SP-2604? WAH-64D maybe?
  13. Lovel shots. The JASDF have some very pleasing schemes.
  14. The first time to Avalon for me. I managed to snaffle a trade ticket for the Thursday and paid through the nose for a Gold Pass on Fri, Sat and Sun. Thoughts of the show are: Expensive for a Gold Pass. Runway orientation vs the sun position makes photography past 1300 difficult. Everything is starting to go backlit. Late start of the show on the Friday for a partial night show did not help at all for the photos. Heat haze was horrendous. European airshows: A lot easier for the weather Greater diversity of aircraft (advantage of distance between countries). Trade day was better for me, a lot quieter with few crowds and flying spaced throughout the day with aircraft flying that were not seen flying on the display days. I also struck lucky with the weather in that it was overcast but cool. Next time I'll go for trade days. Lack of Army participation - lots in the static but nothing moving. Surprised that the US Apache did not display considering it was flown over and the recent purchase by Australia. Photos -
  15. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234924151-airliner-work-in-progress-and-ready-for-inspection-threads/
  16. Not much to show. I’ve dug out the kit and all the aftermarket. Kit parts and resin has been washed etc. The plan is to add: aires resin cockpit and seat aires exhaust reskit wheels and nose leg maestro or master pitot’s I’ve been reading @Bjorn’s draken build threads for hints and tips. Some really good stuff in there I’ve put an Aires pit in a Draken before and it’s a painless procedure compared to the normal Aires struggle. Looks like it’s green wheel legs for the Austrian Draken’s and a grey cockpit interior. Plastic cutting starts tomorrow
  17. Great shots! You were right about the orientation causing issues. I was there from Thursday to today. Got lots of images to trawl through, but most of the afternoon ones will be write offs. Getting out was a nightmare as well. The traffic control, well it didn’t! one highlight today was one of the black eagles going down the crowd line low and fast. I think he may get a telling off…
  18. The 1:48 Hasegawa kit for me. Going to be the bright Ostaricchi markings. Built the kit before so I sort of remember its very few foibles - I have a few days away at the Avalon show so will start on my return
  19. So why post it here in works in progress knowing that its in the wrong place and the Mods have to move it? A quick look in the forum contents would have found modelling tips... Or you could have PM'ed a mod...
  20. We shall thank the party wholly responsible for the increased site power:
  21. Looks like you used the Bank of England inflation calculator for the increase. However a pint of beer in 1981 was 51p been out of the uk for a purple of years but average is nearing £6 these days by the looks of things. Extrapolating that out, both IAT to RIAT has followed the same trajectory of increase of being worth about 9 - 10 pints
