Congratulation on finishing this monster of a kit! Re. the safety handle – shouldn't it be folded back into the headreast when the plane is parked? -
Great work on the kit with the subtle shading. We had this one and a Ju-52 flying in our region for some time, the sound was quite remarkable. And I guess it made an appearance recently in the latest season of Stranger Things...

Very nice surface texture. Maybe the roundels could use a hint of weathering to bring down the saturation? -

Stunning work in all aspects & great photos! How is the kit? I‘m playing with the idea of building a 2000 ever since watching „Les chevaliers du ciel“. -

I never got into the design, but your color scheme looks amazing! -
Great shopping choices, Mike, and I agree that the movie is nothing to write home about; but the designs still stand out today IMO. Note that you can use the sprue from the Fighter 1 canopy to make cockpit windows for the Minerva:

Thanks for watching, guys! The armored suit is unfortunately one of the more challenging kits of the old series, but maybe Hasegawa will get around making an update. Here's a shot of the basic setup: I put a stiff black cardboard up against a window faching north; the cardboard (or several sheets) are positioned so that they just fill the field of view of the camera. The light from the back will come around the sheet and give you a nice low key silhouette lighting. Placing white sheets in front of the model will add fill light. Put the whole setup at an angle against the window to produce interesting highlights on the model. Use gradient curves in Photoshop to push the background to pitch black.

I think I found the set; It would be great if the awesome pilot became available as a seperate item.

Outstanding work on all levels, this is perfection! You really did the kit justice. I just wish works like this would stop tempting me to get a Minibase kit for myself...

Beautiful colors on this amazing kit. The surface texture looks phantastic. -
Price will be 16.000 Yen for the EVA-01 without the base & spear. The design is a bit wonky IMO, compared to what's already on the market, and I always favored the fixed-pose garage kits over the moveable plastic or resin ones. The Kaiyodo kit from 1995 was the first garage kit I completed.

Perfect finish of this beautiful machine! -
The 1983 animated feature "Crusher Joe" is chock-full of great mechanical designs by Studio Nue; this is the 1000 m battleship Cordoba, designed by Shoji Kawamori ("Macross"), crushing space pirates acrosss the galaxy. The Hasegawa kit from their Creator Works line is as good as it gets, with ultra-fine details across the surface. Some seams required a hint of putty, but overall, it's a straightforward build. I imagine this ship also would look very cool in a Chris Foss inspired scheme. This is the main character's ride, the Fighter 1, also designed by Kawamori:

Just gorgeous! The uniform overall colors work best to bring out the beautiful design, great job on the balnced weathering.
