  1. Very nice, this scheme is on my might-build-someday list. I like the overall weathered appearance; also thanks for describing the journey. Now I should really get my Pax River Intruder done...
  2. Awesome piece of work, I love the scheme and the subtle weathering. Great work on the details.
  3. Very cool chipping effect – did you use hairspray? The camo pattern looks interesting, too.
  4. It is listed at Hobbysearch now for 12.750 Yen.
  5. Great finish & work on the cockpit details! It's a good kit; I built the Ecuador scheme & need to shoot pics still.
  6. Here we go. Length 318 mm with 720 mm wingspan, 4 figures in the cockpit, two sets of landing gear (parked/flight) & display stand.
  7. Nice finish – I love the subtle white-grey contrast and the "dusty" appearance.
  8. What a beast! I love the colors & the attention to details.
  9. The Shinden just looks gorgeous in any color. Great idea, and flawless execution.
  10. After painting the various details on the fuselage, I completed the cockpit today. The detail level on the kit's parts is great and more than enough for a closed canopy build. I added some wire bits and the red labels on the seats from leftover decals. Seat belts and the straps on the parachutes were made from masking tape. The kit has the pilot's seat (left) properly shifted forward, but you need to add a 1 mm plastic sheet underneath to also get the height difference. The Hasegawa pilots fit perfectly, only a little surgery on the feet was necessary. I had to remove quite a bit of material around the coaming to make it fit into the fuselage and under the front canopy; I have no idea how this would work when the coaming is installed according to the instructions.
  11. Excellent finish and great care of details on your build. Academy could have done better with those very heavy panel lines, maybe it's best not to use any wash on them. I see no issues with the ordnance. I really like the design of the KF-21 and I'm looking forward to see you building the other versions.
  12. Great work on the colors & details, and i love the presentation. It's really a beast of a plane.
  13. A bit of detail painting & the decals are on. I used the Caracal Models "Test Intruders" set, and the quality (made by Cartograf) is awesome. They are made for the Kientic kit, but they mostly fit.
  14. Very impressive! These kits take a lot of work & patience. I hope the weight doesn't bend the joints over time.
  15. @Yg Models Nice haul there, looking forward to see your Junone! I was surprised to see the actual quality of the Thunderjaw kit when I helt it in my hands. The engineering is on the same level as Bandai's Star Wars kits IMO; lots of fine surface details, and great fit. It is much better than my first Moderoid, the Deer Stalker RxR.
  16. Love the presentation and the very distinct approach to the weathering! The colors look great, too.
  17. You really nailed the iconic Hellenic Air Force look. Do you have any in-progress pics of the cockpit?
  18. That's a killer paintjob on that sexy machine. Nice shading on the engines, too.
  19. I always thought the Zvezda kit was the best in 1/72, but this one looks excellent. Great work on the details and weathering!
  20. Choosing the paint scheme for your Intruder is maybe the hardest part of the build; what sparked my interest in the first place were the colors of the Pax River Test Intruders. So it's time to add a little spice to the sea of grey. After collecting what must must be all of the online reference, I tried to match the international orange. It's easier when you have a physical color swatch you can hold next to the screen – PANTONE 172 looked best like what I wanted to achieve. The Tamiya mix I ended up with is 3 parts X-6 Orange, 2 parts XF-7 Red and 1 part XF-1 White. The relevant sections were masked and primed with white. After mask removal, things look pretty convincing. Full view:
  21. I'm squeezing a little bit of painting time out of the rare sunshine. Underside in progress, panel by panel. Tamiya Sky Grey and Gloss White in a 1:1 mix over Dark Sea Grey.
