  1. Hannants now have it listed at £50! I think £35 would be about right, given that you can now pick up Revell's 1/350 Bismark for around that figure. Hugh
  2. Phil, You might find this thread useful - http://www.shipmodels.info/mws_forum/viewt...f=47&t=6855 Hugh
  3. No idea as to how these conversions actually compare with something like those offerings from WEM, but at least it's a starting point! http://smmlonline.com/articles/royal_navy_paints.html Hugh
  4. Well if it comes about, I think this would be the first 1/350 injection-moulded kit of a serving RN vessel ever! Oh, and the old 1/600 Warspite & Iron Duke were also on the Hornby/Airfix stand, so it looks like they'll be re-released in 2009 too. Hugh
  5. There you go - Slaters Mekpak is what you need. http://www.slatersplastikard.com/7mm%20Pro...rs%20mekpak.htm Hugh
  6. You could try here - A 12 part video series recompiled on to 5 DVDs. http://website.lineone.net/~rhaywood/warhist.html Not ship-specific, but I'll bet the ships you list get a mention somewhere. Hugh

  8. Prinz Eugen pics here - http://www.modelshipwrights.com/modules.ph...ead&order=0
  9. Piccs of Trumpeter's Repulse & Prinz Eugen can be found here - sorry about the long linky! http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl...%3D9ba%26sa%3DX Hugh
  10. Agreed! Repulse and Prinz Eugen'll be my only outlays this year. Not bothered about anything else. Hugh
  11. Glad you found it useful. Here's another tome - don't be put off by the title - it describes surface ship colours too, and is well worth a download. http://www.rokket.biz/models/modelsweb/rok...557/paint.shtml Hugh
  12. There's some discussion on RoG's Bismarck here - http://cs.finescale.com/forums/996171/ShowPost.aspx Hugh
  13. Keep em coming Phil - I'm enjoying your builds, and having looked at the dates of your posts, it's quick work! There have been some comments about the fit of RoG's Bismarck hull halves elsewhere on the web, and having checked mine, it seems that there must be one or two kits out there which aren't quite up to Revell's usual standard of manufacture. It's nothing insurmountable but is annoying when you want to just jump straight in and start assembling without having to do lots of filling, reshaping & sanding etc. BTW - Whose PE set have you used for this one? Trumpeter's new 1/350 Prinz Eugen will be unveiled at the forthcoming Tokyo Model & Hobby Show just before Xmas, and it'll be interesting to see how the final product turns out. Whichever way, she'll make a fine companion to Revell's Bismarck. I also have Hood in the stash ready to go, although mine will be in her final config, along with KGV & PoW. All we need now is a Victorious, Dorsetshire, Suffolk or Norfolk, and a nice 1/350 Tribal wouldn't go amiss either! Great time to be a ship modeller, although I am personally sick and tired of endless US & IJN subjects flooding the mkt at the moment! Hugh
  14. Here's a photo of the kit - WARNING! It's a slow loader! http://p13.freep.cn/p.aspx?u=v20_p13_p_080...742109054_0.jpg Hugh
  15. Hmm, if you heard what my grandfather used to call em after they imprisoned him in Selarang Barracks, near Changi jail during WW2 I think you politically -correct munters would moderate your over-sensitiveness somewhat. Yours disgusted, Hugh
  16. It has now been posted on the Pit-Road site. Here's the boxart:
  17. Is that the Renown book at the bottom of the page? I have had that one on pre-order with Amazon uk for ages - it's cheaper! I have just finished the HMS Rodney book on the same page you link to - an excellent read - Amazon again - and was much cheaper that £28!! Hugh
  18. Latest from a recently published modelling mag is that Pit Road are doing an injection HMS Renown 1942 in 1/700, so if true I guess it'll appear under the Trumpeter banner sooner or later. Hugh
  19. Posted here - http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20628 - by mistake! A 1/350 Prinz Eugen plastic kit at long last. Great news!! John from WEM wrote "This is now showing on the Stevens International website: Trumpeter TSM-5313, 1/350 Prinz Eugen German Heavy Cruiser, $0.00 TBA We've already got our references in hand for the PE set...." Hugh
  20. No probs Phil, But if you ever feel like giving the kit a second glance, I'm sure you won't be disappointed - I've seen your Hood build - so the old Lusi-kit shouldn't present you with any problems should you decide to revisit for old times sake! Hugh
  21. Further to my last - Phil, I reckon the kit is pretty damned good! There's even a build-tutorial written by Jerry Kent Layton available as a pdf from the TRMA site - http://www.titanic-model.com/articles/lusi...ial_Revised.pdf Hugh
  22. http://www.trumpeter-china.com/war513/prod...sage.asp?id=649 If only it were a 1/350 scale version..... Hugh
