  1. That's very nice work on the hull, you've captured that overpainted MS 12 camo look very well 👍
  2. Fantastic model Ray 👏👏👏 love the variant and the attractive colour scheme 👍
  3. Thanks a lot @binbrook87 hope you get round to one of these eventually. I think it would be a proper masterpiece if you did John, will be looking forward to that build 😊
  4. Cheers John. It's smaller than I expected, seems to be quite a compact design. In 1/32 it's smaller than a P-38 Lightning.
  5. Very good idea to cover ejector pin marks instead of trying to fill and sand them when they're in an awkward place like that 👍
  6. What a good subject, looks like you'll be busy. For what it's worth, I like the 201 Sqn red tail flash, but you'll have loads of choices from the excellent Double Ugly Vol 2 😉
  7. While I'm not convinced by the blue colour debate, can't argue against that looking really good in blue!
  8. Such a great scheme, that looks so attractive. Thank you to the 56FG for shooting at everything that flew, you gave us this lovely variation of the PR Mossie
  9. Okay, let battle commence! First job is to turn the rubbishy end-opening box into a top-loader: Seal the ends then cut three sides of the lid Into the cockpit: Cut, clean and tidy up the cockpit parts from the Halberd set. The fit to the kit parts is perfect. Then for some reason I went on to the stabilisers and rudder. The rudder needs a bit cut off the top to accommodate the fin extension. Finally for today I added the kit sidewalls to the Halberd fuselage and the tail halves, which again fit perfectly Hopefully this will be the pattern for the rest of the build. The only slight disappointment is the type represented and the decals are for the original Piper 1971 proposal, rather than the more interesting 1983-4 evaluation versions which failed to secure a USAF production contract at the time. I'm not sure how many differences there were - I can see some different blade antennae either side of the fin, plus a large pitot/instrumentation probe out of the left tip tank. If I can be bothered I might investigate that further. Seems to be a promising start, let's see how it turns out! Alan
  10. Started at last! I've moved the parts intro to the opening post for continuity if you want to go back and have a look 😉
  11. Thank you Craig and James again 👍 Still making slow progress on this one... All smoothed down and more or less ready for primer - I've painted the cockpit frames RLM 66 using AK Air acrylic. First time I've used it straight from the bottle and it goes on quite well, reminds me of Xtracrylix. The one-piece intakes are from the Verlinden set. It's a decent upgrade for the kit but particularly the resin in the cockpit and gun bay needs to be carefully thought out and prepared, along with the placement of the ballast weight in the nacelles. The wings look like they're still bowed in the top pic but they are actually straight, as @Andreas.R mentioned above. i think it's an optical illusion caused by the heavier ballast in the right wing than the left wing pulling it down to the right when it's supposed to be sitting flat. Cheers, Alan
  12. Thanks so much, and no, I haven't because I value my health Thanks Robin, and I would bet good money on that
  13. That's very very kind and greatly appreciated Andy ☺️ thank you! Thank you George, I really hope you get stuck into one of these kits, it's a real treat. Thanks very much Ingo 👍 Thanks very much Seb, top tip much appreciated 👍 Thanks very much, I wasn't sure this was that good with the finish, but you've been very kind ☺️👍
  14. Wow, that's really lovely. Great colour scheme and very well built, excellent job.
  15. That's very cool! Great visualisation for the different kit parts you used.
  16. Very nice work despite the dark shades, they look very good together. You can see how they evolved from a common ancestor 😉

😂😂😂 Very Lovecraftian, let's hope it's not more than we bargained for...
  18. Or maybe Michaelangelo: 'I saw the Mustang in the plastic blobs, and glued until I set him free.' 😉
  19. Thanks Mike, the same in my case...I was planning to do one of the 610 Sqn machines but the box art convinced me otherwise.
  20. I love the typical pig trough quote from the lawyer, "It's all very well paying out for actual losses sustained, but where's the massive wedge for all the people who NEARLY died but didn't, by the way my rates are 40% of all compensation received (plus expenses and media preparation fees)" 🤮
  21. Beautiful job, it looks like a miniaturised real Spitfire 👏👏👏
