  1. Well its a beaut cannot wait for the radial engine version hope to see this at Cosford.
  2. Buy it or stay married? buy it or stay married? hmmmmmmmmm. Seriously no its too big for my place i was looking at the 32nd Black Widow in Parabellum- gorgeous but again i think 1/48th is the optimum scale. I will build in 32nd but fighters only the Meteor is seriously tempting though seriously seriously tempting.
  3. I think you just answered it 'looked off' i suppose its innocent until proven guilty till you fondle the styrene (or a balanced reviewer you trust has).
  4. Now theres a thread worth reading about i wouldnt care about 0.5mm differences in diameter in that one!
  5. Ive read a few things on here that remind me of some of the more 'vocal' forums where basically nowts right but for the moment there is a still credible balance to this forum, you can be your own moderator using the 'ignore' function or simply avoiding topics that are frequented by the more hysterical preachers of wisdom. The balance is about right for now topics get locked at the right points just as the air is going a bit blue (according to federal standards) to alter it would spoil that. One thought if you advocate the total freedom to expresss opinions do you want to submit a request for the return of Gaston and his red pen?
  6. You should be also be aware that since this sites re vamp there is an ignore function where you can totally blank anyone regularly posts topics or replies you find preachy or just plain trolling for attention to their opinions, it works remarkably well its inception was one thing that kept me on here. 'Cue replies of who said that'
  7. Dont make personal attacks on this it becomes self defeating the subject matter is risible at best without it becoming personal.
  8. Somedays its not worth chewing through the straps on your coat to get free is it?
  9. Someone at Eduard must have been thought the Airfix advent calendar was a good idea.
  10. It will be mine oh yes it will be mine (as soon as its in Parabellum)
  11. In the alternate universe i live in i am more interested in the contents of the box than the picture on the box that ultimately is headed for the recycling bin, I am really starting to despair of internet forums.
  12. I cannot find fault with the new releases i am suprised at the choice of 1/72nd for the Typhoon as i was convinced they would do it in 1/48th. All in all it was worth the wait i dont do Cold war Jets but i am going to have a Javelin as for prices break it down into a weekly cost per annum and then think 'eff it its my hobby and i need to blank out the outside world' besides its been already said how many of you pay full price?
  13. You forgot Ursula Andress and Raquel Welch! Ive got to ask ive only entered the draw when i fancied the days prize who is entering every days draw regardless?
  14. I want this kit so more than i want Kate Winslet but ive got a really good Revell kit on the shelf i just hope the Meng release prompts some aftermarket decals as my kit is missing them, so i can make do till i can afford one (a Meng kit not a Kate Winslet she's priceless).
  15. I really hope the re-tool the Sunderland i like the Italeri kit but would prefer to spend my money on an Airfix kit, theres something about Airfix aircraft kits that just makes me want to build them.
  16. Talking of St Trinians in the second film (1950's film not the new aberrations) there is the 'Dreadnought motor traction company' featured- I'm just saying thats all.
  17. Did i miss it or was there no Me 410 on the Meng stand.
  18. I think the 380 is a beaut when its in colourful livery if its one colour its like a beached whale, It will be interesting to see what the Virgin Atlantic livery will do to it as its my favourite livery at the moment. As for the best looking airliners its got to be the Constellation its on the front of a Sinatra album you cannot get cooler than that.
  19. Totally agree with all that and trying to keep on thread i dont think for a second there will be a new 1/24th for a while (in my prediction at least 5 years)re-tool the older kits maybe add options to existing kits probably.and then what will the new release be? from a business point of view it would have to be a 'banker' as in the thunderbolt or typhoon popularity range(IMHO before anyone starts) i think if any scale will be the winner in the new kit sweepstakes it will be in 1/48th for 'enthusiasts' and 1/72nd as a 'money spinner' such as starter sets and dogfight doubles. Standing up for Airfix though do they need flagships such as the somewhat tired older 1/24th (The spitfire Vb that i am building at the moment for one)when they have world class new tool 1/72nd and 1/48th scale kits that have recently been released?
  20. The trouble i find with 1/24th is you really have to want a kit that big. My wife would always put large size first in most lists except for storage space alloted to husbands models. Generally the first comment with any 1/24th kit is 'ive got no where to put it' and in these cash strapped times its smaller scale kits that will get moulded first the bigger scales are always going to be a risk. Its only my opinion so dont blow a fuse i wouldnt have a 1/24th Mosquito if they were a tenner im not slagging off the kit (its a beaut)but it would never get built so why buy it?
