  1. Hi, thanks. I'll take another look. They seem to be on the BM posting ok. I may try again.. Cheers
  2. Hi Manuel, pics are certainly there somewhere... Anyone help..?
  3. Hi all, following the positive feedback I received from my first 1/76 Matador, I thought I would present No2.. This one is inspired by a pic I saw of one in Libya, (I'm sure everyone's probably seen it, though my decals are wrong compared to the unit that served there). I had to do some butchering to the kit, hacked off the cab, shaved down the wheel arches, (In reality if the kit was scaled back up, they would have been about 3" thick..), but glad I had a set of after market full sized wheels. Made all the difference. I had to make up the cable reels at the back and scratched out the planking inside the load bed, as there is nothing there originally. Redog load gear in the back, but I think I need to try and find some ammo boxes or gun/ artillery shells to make it more complete. The gun I covered in tissue soaked in Laquer and used it to hide the lack of detail on the piece..(I like it anyway.). All in all, my little piece of lorry history. I have one more to make up, as I bought three part kits as a job lot, so thinking the next one may be an RAF version. But will be just a flat bed, as I'm running out of bits..Hope you enjoy. (PS..spot the mistake with the spare wheel..!)
  4. An excellent job done there. Yet another standard I've got to try and aspire to.
  5. This kit is one of the first ones I tried coming back to the glooo lately. But looking at the standard youve created here, think I might have to get a grip and try again. Excellent.!!
  6. Thanks, another one to do now so see if I have learnt anything.
  7. Thanks, the tarp was my answer to hiding the limited detail on the piece, also every picture I found had a tarp on for traveling. Seems obvious..👍🤔 Thanks again, looking forward to the next one.
  8. Thanks, but a good one to play around with as they are cheap as a pot of paint and lots of info out there to pull from. Cheers for the feedback.
  9. Thanks here.. I know it's only a tiny kit compared to all the others, but it's been enjoyable seeing how far you can go with it. Two more to do, so gonna try a couple of versions for fun. Still lots to learn though.
  10. I'm in the same boat here, just got back into it and look learning all the new paint tricks around. Think I'll have a go at this one and hope it looks half as good..!!
  11. Hi All, Please see attached my 'kinda' finished 1:76 Matador. Never presented a model for critique before so looking forward to hearing back. I haven't touched kits for over 20 years and like a lot of folks here, got back to it after being locked in. This is the first Matador I've done, I managed to pick up two more at a bargain price, so looking to having another couple of goes at it. (Probably have a convoy soon.😆). My weathering I know, needs some work, (the days when everything was painted green and stuck on the shelf I see have gone.) So bear with me on that, lots to learn yet. But one I really enjoyed. Answers on a postcard..👍
  12. Just caught this thread, I know it's a bit late but just picked up a kit for £3, so going to give this one a go as a change. Looks like a good one for just spending time with.
  13. Cheers Gents, loads to go with there. I think now after reading this, I will go with the SCC2 and Blue/ black but.. tone down the tilt with a grey or light sand. (I only have a limited paint range at the moment) Looking forward to doing these as part of my easing back in. ( I have to say though, whoever did the dia'in the pic above with the figures on the runway, hats off.!! I had to look twice and even then had to zoom in to see if it was real.) I see lots to live up to. Thanks again.
  14. Hi, I am just getting back into MM and am starting on the Airfix 1:76 QLT/QLD. Question.. is there a colour mix for the tarpaulins over the rear load area that is commonly used. I don't want to go camo black and green on the canvas, so looking for a suitable canvas "mix". Cheers
  15. Greetings from Cornwall. Yes another one who is reliving his childhood. As with a thousand others, I was sat at my "home" desk and during a very boring email trail and remembered a kit my missus bought me a year ago, as a laugh.(Airfix starter kit, Churchill tank, complete with 4 whole paint colours..!!). So I dragged it out... and here we are again back in the saddle, forgot how much I loved it. My haydays I was a Tamiya big fan, (Mack, Rubber duck tractor unit. With chrome bits. German half track and field gun). So now I am starting from scratch, got a half doz Tamiya acrylics, found an old model knife and looking forward to getting stuck back in. Just started the SAS Pink Panther, but looks like I've got a lot to learn re weathering/ chipping etc. (God bless Yutoob..) The days when everything was painted green and mud splattered..! A lot to catch up on...
