  1. Great. Thank you. I have plenty of experience so this shouldn’t be an issue. 🙂
  2. Thanks Romeo Alpha Yankee. Glad to hear you have positive things to say about them too. How are the decals?
  3. Thanks for the response. I have absolutely no problem with having to put in extra work to make it look good. Just glad to hear it’s not one of those kits that’s beyond help. I guess I’ll also have to pick up their T-1 Jayhawk once it’s released too. 🙂
  4. Hello everyone. I will admit I really don’t know a whole lot about the SOVA-M brand. For those in the know what is the quality of these kits like and would it be recommended to pick one up because I’m very interested in the USAF C-21A. Thanks in advance. Mark
  5. I’m definitely in for one of these kits just in case the RCAF decides to one day replace their CP-140 Aurora fleet. It’s been talked about recently here in Canada that a replacement for the Aurora will be announced in the next few years.
  6. Just a small heads up on these decals from Abovebelow. This statement that I will post below is from his own FAQ page on his website regarding the printing process. Because the CF-18 markings you’re looking for are low-visibility marking they may come out somewhat grainy. It’s nice that he puts this on his website to make his buyers aware of this. From his FAQ page: “Unless it is true black-or-white, all colours produced are a combination of the primary CMYK. In any digital printing technology the approximation of colours occasionally results in a phenomenon known as ‘dithering’. This means that reproduction of some colours may have a grainy colour appearance. While modern professional grade high-definition printers have made this phenomenon less prevalent, it still can be seen to some extent on some ‘low-visibility’ markings.
  7. This is fantastic! In 2000 I flew from Canada to attend RIAT and saw the AMX for the first time and instantly loved the looks of it. I’ll definitely be getting this kit as soon as it’s available.
  8. Hey everyone. Just a quick question about the SU-57 kit (7319) on page 13/88 in the online catalogue. I bought this kit earlier this year and I was wondering if anyone knows what writing says in the red bar across the top right of the photo. Just wondering if it’s a change in the kit from the previous version. Thanks in advance. Mark
  9. Hello everyone, I was wondering if any of you have ordered directly from Modelsvit through their website and if so how was your experience? The reason I’m asking is that I have a few models of theirs that I’m wanting to purchase that total around $600-700 Canadian if I were to order directly from them. I also checked Hannants but they don’t have some of them in stock. Also compared pricing through eBay but it came out to around $900. I am really hoping to be able to save that couple hundred dollars if possible because for me this is a lot of money that I’ve been saving up for and I was really hoping that I can get them directly from Modelsvit for that reason. Also Modelsvit offers free shipping to Canada with the amount I’m spending. Thank you in advance. Mark
  10. Bill is going to re-open up his CanMilAir decal printing business this fall, hopefully by November. You are correct that he closed up shop a few years ago as his Alps printer bit the dust but he has recently purchased a new type of printer. Cheers, Mark
  11. Interesting. I haven’t had a parcel delivered to me from within Canada in years so I guess things have changed. Oh well. I’m still going to buy the set from you and look forward to when it’s released.
  12. Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it
  13. Thank you. That’s fantastic news. Belcher bits is Canadian like myself so that will benefit me greatly with shipping costs.
  14. Does anyone know or has anyone heard if there will be a reissue of the Argus conversion set in the future? When they were originally released money on my end was short but things have improved greatly with Covid restrictions finally being eased. Unfortunately now I can’t find a set anywhere. thanks in advance. Mark
  15. Just an update regarding my post from a couple months ago and the availability of the Modelcollect B-52G replacement nose and tail parts. They are now once again available as I ordered a set today.
  16. If you can wait for a bit (not sure how long though) as Canmilair announced on his website a while ago that his decal printing is coming back soon. He had several different sheets for Canadian Voodoos representing several different eras. Before he closed down shop a couple years ago he used an Alps printer and were fairly pricey but I’m not sure what he’s going to use when he starts up again.
  17. Hey everyone. A few months ago I got the Modelcollect B-52G for a very decent price (too good to pass up) even while knowing of the shape inaccuracies of the nose and tail. I thought I could just get the Modelcollect update set to correct these two issues but upon going to their website a while back to order the updated parts they had them listed as per-order only. Last week I visited the site again and still none available. I emailed them a couple times and have heard nothing back yet. Do any of you know more info about their replacement parts? Such as maybe they’ve stopped supplying the replacements? Just hoping maybe one of you has heard something. Also do any other aftermarket companies provide these correction sets because I couldn’t find any through my own searching. thanks
  18. Just a word of caution with the old Arrow Graphics sheets. They do not age well once applied to the model. After a few years the adhesive turns into a dark golden brown colour which unfortunately I didn’t know about when I first used them. Of all the other manufacturers decals I’ve ever used I’ve never had this issue before. I did a test model a couple years ago where I soaked some of Arrow Graphics spare decals in water and after I removed it from the backing I used a brush to wipe off all the adhesive. Then I applied the decals with future to the model and so far so good.
  19. Trust me. I never got my pants in a bunch over it. I was just simply asking questions hoping maybe someone had reasoning into why they are different. For me it’s an easy fix as I’ll just use correct insignias from the spares box to represent what the real aircraft look liked during filming. I just thought it was strange that the decals would be altered. We’ll just have to wait and see when the movie is officially released. Cheers.
  20. I’m not confusing real life with the movie at all. I’ve watched all the trailers for the movie and the national insignias from the movie clips haven’t been altered whatsoever from real life aircraft. I couldn’t find a single visual reference from the trailers that showed anything like the insignia designs on the decal sheet.
  21. Because I want to build a Super Bug from the movie I wanted to first check out some reviews of the kit itself. I couldn't help but notice something very wrong with the insignia decals. What is going on with the national insignias for both Super Hornet and F-14?? Why did they design them like this because the are completely incorrect? I also noticed a lack of bureau numbers for both jets as well. There may also be other issues with the decals upon further investigation but that's for another time. Mark
