25mm female fantasy figures, various manufacturers
sardaukar replied to Andy H's topic in Figure Ready for Inspection
very nice I like them. GWs miniatures are almost becoming too good and too detailed and losing some of their charm, it is nice to see what other minis are out there. -

Nice job and I like the camo too. -
Nice work, makes me want to build one of my bigger 1/72 kits, like the Hobby Boss Bereg, I have a Zvezda Pantsir too.

The correct direction of tracks is something that often has me scratching my head. This pic sent me down a rabbit hole when I realised 131 was using the same links on both sides. Maybe Bovington only had tracks for the one side. However I learned something new today, the manufacturers intended to have both right and left track links, but they quickly dropped the right links and only used left track links after the realised the crews only wanted to have to carry one type of link. According to https://tiger1.info/EN/Tracks.html.

I was thinking about painting them like medieval knights, a bit more like interesting than panzer grey and German crosses. -

Something a bit different, a ww2 what-if that still hasn't happened . Thanks to @Yg Models. A unit of 4 German BLF-100 Ein Mann Kampffahrzeug Ausf. Zweifüßler which I believe means 'one man bipedal combat vehicle'. Equipped with 2cm Flakvierling or 7.5cm Pak. They come with some stand-off armour plates that I may or may not use. UAZ for scale. -
nice job, I haven't been brave enough to try that camo scheme yet.

I never knew games workshop set the standard for lizardmen 😛. On that comparison they are probably closest to skinks although these have a lot more weapon options. This was what I was going for pretty much, maybe something that lurks in the depths of Necromunda, or a small band of alien ruffians. I didn't want the fantasy setting.

3 Lizardmen from Wargames Atlantic, these were from a single sprue of 3 figures. They have options like spears or muskets and a load of head types, however I went more scifi than fantasy with the gasmask heads and AK style guns. Painted with a variety of miniature acrylics brands cheers Calum

I have felt the pain, if the description ever says 'print in any scale' its likely it will come with no scale information at all. I've also had a fairly slick looking listing for a 1/72 vehicle come with half the parts in 1/72 and the other half in about 1/4 scale, and of course never supported . Anyway that's half the fun and why the 3d printer has been churning out 28mm scifi soldiers instead.

Weird War - German Trench Raiders 3D prints 28mm
sardaukar replied to sardaukar's topic in Figure Ready for Inspection
you are talking about space marines, they are like 8 feet tall in the lore as they are enhanced humans. I prefer the older space marine sculpts too but the scale was always an issue as they weren't much taller than baseline humans like the imperial guard. also I don't like the tacticool feel of the new ones either. -
Weird War - German Trench Raiders 3D prints 28mm
sardaukar replied to sardaukar's topic in Figure Ready for Inspection
they are heroic scale 28mm which is where you get the chunkier bodies, GW stuff used to be heroic scale however they are moving closer to realistic proportions, seen it in stuff like their new cadian line. but they are nice minis. -
I've gone down a bit of a rabbit hole printing wargaming miniatures and wanted to get some painted. Historical war settings mixed with a dose of the supernatural seem to be a fashionable niche for wargames at the moment. As if war wasn't terrible enough, think the WW1 horror film Deathwatch. I found these mini's from creator called knucklebones and really liked the aesthetic. They come with a large number of head styles, brodie, Adrian helmets etc. The horned and dalek like protrusions on the stahlhelms were interesting but if I did it again I probably wouldve just used the standard stahlhelm. Weapons not so realistic either. The two NCO's/officers are single pose with interchangeable heads with the rest of the raiders being modular. I mirrored a lot of parts before printing to increase variety. Painted with citadel contrast paints and various metallics, bases are vallejo thick mud. Other than the grey with red trim no attempt was made to match real world colours. 28mm ish although probably closer to 30mm. cheers Calum

some mini AFVs are escaped from its box ...
sardaukar replied to Yg Models's topic in Work in Progress - Armour
I know it's sci-fi, but how does it use the drill without breaking the barrel? or is it a drill launcher?
