    Modelers block

watching you tube is very inspiring. But after seeing a few videos and reviews of this trumpeter kits, I think I will give it a miss. I have a Scimitar by AFV club and I have not built one of their kits yet. I will try that.🤷‍♂️

    Modelers block

Hi all. I've done a few models. Posted pics on here, then managed to sell them on e@!%y. But I thought I would have a go at a more complex model. (Rye field model ) to be exact. But I Struggled with all the brass not staying in place and all the little bits falling off. It was so disheartening. Even when I tried painting it, the green I was told to use looked horrible. It put me off so much, I've not done anything since. So. Has anyone else had this and what's the best cure. I've just started to do a simple model, hoping this will spurr me on again.
  4. I spent ages on you tube. Its worth it. I like the guy who does the night shift stuff
  5. Thanks for kind words. But I don't know why the photos are so small. I gave up with villagephotos and used flicker. I will try and see if I can make the bigger.
  6. Looks like I'm still having trouble uploading.. Is anyone else having trouble with village photos?
  7. OK. So I've seen some amazing stuff on here, and I cant wait until I'm as good as you guys. Now I've decided to show where I'm up to now. Thirty five years since my last kit (well I started a couple of years ago and these are my first pics), and the first one was a little embarrassing. A couple sold on ebay and my fourth for my daughter,, a leopard one painted pink and the commander remodeled into the joker. so here are a few pics (hopefully and in sequence ) of what I've done, so far. I really do struggle with the pin washes. I always seem to rub off the excess down to the plastic. the last one of the M1A1 was a horrible kit. The tracks were awfull, I hope I have managed to upload pictures in sequence. But I'm still new to this. My favourites so far are the IS1 and the Challenger mk1, but the M1A1 turned out quite good even thought it was horrible, I was going to throw it away. Any help and tips would be so greatfuly received. I've been humming and ahr ring about putting pics up, but I've finally bit the bullet. Be gentile.

    The borrowers

Help needed. These cheap Chinese kits are a real nightmare. Especially when your trying to learn. But these little guys keep turning and try to get me drunk. Any ideas what I should do with them
  9. Done it. On my phone aswell. Thanks all
  10. Thanks for the info. I get to the part of copying the the link, but nothing happens. I will try on my laptop tonight.
  11. I will try with my laptop tonight 🤔 Nice dogs by the way.
  12. Hi all. Still trying to learn the trade and I thought I would upload some photos. But didn't know how to do it. So I've gone to village photos and had a go. Now in the meantime I've look at some works of art on here and thought " I'm not going to embarras myself by uploading my stuff". So here is a nice photo of my dog instead. Thanks. I hope the upload works.😅
  13. Never thought of that. I. Sure I can dig out an old CD. Thank you.
  14. Thanks. Looks like dirty windows then.
  15. Hi all. I tried to post this earlier but I can't find it, so I will try again. So I had a little misshap with my liquid poly. Seems like I spilt it all over my clear plastic windscreen ( windshield)😉. Melted both sides. So I've rubbed and buffed but I can't get it clear. Does anyone know how to sort it, or should I try and make it a feature? Maybe muddy windows or a bullet strike. Not sure what to do. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks Oh its a meng GAZ, armoured high-mobilty vehicle. I'm still learning the craft, nothing too taxing although I would give it a try
  16. Hi all. I have just had a little mishap with my liquid poly. I have knocked it over and it completely covered the windscreen of my meng truck I am building. Is it totaly a lost cause or is there anything I could do? I've got it smooth again with buffing but its still not clear. Any ideas? Thanks.
  17. I'm in the same boat. I've even gone and bought an airbrush type thingy. Best thing I did was to go on YouTube. There is so much stuff on there, from reviews to full videos on how to do, or give advice on things. You will soon be hooked, and gettting back into building. Also check out the Korean and Chinese kits. I think they a very good kits.
  18. Hi all. Just had a go at using masking putty for the very first time. Some strange stuff it is! Any how, I am quite happy with the results (for a beginner). But does anyone have any tips? I would have put pics up, but it looks so complicated.
  19. New to building kits, but I love listening to classical while I am working, love bach( who ever he is.)😉 So my question is, Whats your favourite tunes to build or paint to? Oh! By the way this is the only time I listen to this stuff, so any recondemations.😁
  20. Hi all. Thanks for accepting me and like a few here, I'm trying to have a go after a very long time off . I'm still trying to find my way around the forum, so if I do ask questions that have been asked, I apologise in advance. Just point me in the right direction. Thanks
