  1. Dennis, Thank you ! Some very helpful information, especially the color ! Scott J
  2. I'm on my work computer at the moment, and the company firewall will not let me view all the links you posted, so it will have to be after work on the home computer.... The one link I could open was the drawing of the fuel tank....very helpful, Thanks ! Scott J
  3. Yes, my question is in reference to a post war Lancaster, specifically an RCAF Mk X..... Thanks, Scott J
  4. Having no luck finding out the following: A. Did they exist... B. If so, what did the look like, color, shape, size... None of my references show these other then saying Lancaster's could use them.... Any help would be appreciated, Scott J
  5. Thank you gentlemen for all your input, it has been very helpful in pointing me in the right direction.... ! Scott J
  6. Not sure if this has been covered here before, and if it has, I apologize for bringing it up again, but I am looking for reference, color charts, etc... for Black and Gray camouflaged Lancasters... I asked on the 72nd Aircraft site, and Cliff from Canada found some decals, but no reference.... any help would be appreciated ! Scott J
  7. Just curious on the status of the Halifax update sets.... would very much like to get a set! Scott J
  8. A) The story I learned was that the patches over the gun ports kept debris out, and also was an indicator of wether or not the weapons had actually operated or not helping the armors to trouble shoot a/c coming back from combat. Browning machine guns operate on the " blow back " principle, weapon is cocked, round in the chamber, breach CLOSED. Trigger is pulled, the internal hammer strikes the firing pin located in the breach block, and fires the weapon. The pressure from the fired round opens the breach block, and strips out the empty case. The recoil spring forces the breach block forward, chambers another round, CLOSES the breach block, and the weapon fires again....as long as the trigger is pulled, it will continue to fire. So, how the cold air got into an open breach is a little impossible.... cold air getting up into the receiver thru the spent case chute is entirely possible, hence, taping off the openings. Scott J
  9. The cockpit is an Aires set that needed some tweaking to get it to fit, plus some scratchbuilt items. The observers/radar operators area entirely scratchbuilt, but only a little, as you can hardly see into thru the bubble! More to give the impression something is back there..... Scott J
  10. You mean like my Hasegawa Mk 1F Beaufighter? And here is an interior shot.... Scott J
  11. Thank you gentlemen, all very useful information! Scott J
  12. I am starting to build a 1/72 Spit Mk1a as a machine from the fall of France/BoB time period and am having trouble finding any solid info on color and placement of the " gas patch " on the port wing. Any help would be appreciated! Scott J
  13. Still can't find this magazine in the US. Any help would be nice, would at least like to see an issue to get an idea how good it is. Scott J
  14. No problem, I had already been buying Hasegawa Lanc's when the Revell item came out. Seemed kinda silly to toss away a perfectly nice model, for a cheaper nice model! Scott J
  15. I really like the Hasegawa Lanc's. Honestly, I have never paid more then $50.00 US for any of the kits i've bought ( that includes the A.S.R.III with life boat) I'll post pics when it is finished. And as a note, the "postwar" G.R.3 comes with the larger Lincoln type rudders and an FN.82 tail turret, something the Revell kit does not...... Thanks for the info, Scott J
