  1. In the process of writing an article about the K30, I discovered a ridiculous thing. It turns out that in the expedition to rescue the crew of the "Italy" they did not use some special polar aircraft, but stupidly took a combat bomber, unscrewing the turrets to avoid being caught. You can see that the “Red Bear” has a full set of bomb racks mounts (a bunch of black lines along the center section, see photos of the b.racks in the main article). Do I need to clarify that it also has the standard paint job of the Red Army Air Force. I spent several hours comparing different photos and did not find any differences from a regular bomber. This is apparently the only case in the practice of the soviets when they exposed to the whole world a military aircraft that was formally under sanctions. As you know, all other polar activities were carried out on specially modified aircraft that could no longer be used as military ones. PS. this is a story https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italia_(airship)?fbclid=IwAR1YW5sQgnyY8hRPe3lGIhHBFF51w8VvmPYjODogCnGUjoMM5Ij492DNcRg Main article: https://www.facebook.com/DLinevich/posts/pfbid0ia5tG4h6J1vVMiW4UfsD6NBTZgB95Xq4crXNm5pF6yYeR6yin9heoC8tLHJ7kggBl Since the participation of the soviet mission was filmed in rich detail, we have excellent footage of the combat (as it turned out) K30 bomber in soviet operation:
  2. There are no torpedoes in any of the photos, you misunderstood something. Comment about the incorrect caption about the one photo where it says 304 on board
  3. Note the serial number, this is a plane with a plywood nose! It is 12BAP.
  4. Massimo hi. Photos date you are reffering is august 1943 and march 1945. All the material that I have posted here is from the original docs. More. Nose navigator's glasing development: Late 716 nose, Several aircrafts of the first series had such glazing There is some doubt about the veracity of the signature (it was taken from a document). The aircraft has serial number 403, therefore it is not a Tu-2S, it is a Tu-2R based on the Tu-2VS airframe produced by plant No. 166 at 1942.
  5. The diagram is a proposal, there is no information that at least one aircraft was built in this form. However, according to the report, plywood parts were still introduced, albeit in a much smaller percentage
  6. I started to delve into it and realized that I had written nonsense. The differences are quite noticeable. It’s hard to say whether the long-tailed Tu-2s took part in the fighting. At least a few of them should have reached the line units before Germany surrendered. And in the Soviet-Japanese war of 1945, they also should have been. Added: A new intake was introduced in November 44. New middle turret canopy from December 44. Long tails appeared in March 1945. It is not yet known exactly when the new endine cowlings and the new glazing of the lower turret were introduced; there is nothing in the bulletins about this. However, they were already present during the trials of the November 44th, but there is no mention of them in the report, although the comparison is being made with the Tu-2S prototype, which did not have such parts (usually such differences were indicated). The bottom gunner pit in a modified form was already on the Tu-2R produced by the 23rd plant in May 1944. Moreover, the plane was converted from a Tu-2VS production 166 plant, and its engine cowlings are smooth. However, this report also makes no mention about bottom gunner pit. I also discovered some interesting details: the first 4 series of Tu-2s had a plywood front fuselage skin, plywood wingtips and a tail fairing. All Tu-2s with plywood parts were in 334 BAD. I confess, I saw somewhere a diagram of the plywood parts on the Tu-2, but I thought this was design data and therefore did not attach any importance to it.
  7. Hi Kari. I came across some photos, but nothing special. It depends on what you need from it. The Tu-2S, unlike the VS, almost did not change in any way until the end of WWII, with the exception of the size of the tails. Grass - July 1943, Winter - march 1945. If you are interested in coloring, then in my opinion in the summer photos it is black-green, and in the winter it is gray-gray. I can’t say that I’ve seen anything similar to 3-color camo anywhere.
  8. It's sad how much in the 21st century people don't care about what they do. Ps. This garbage turns out to have been produced since 2012, I didn’t check it before posting. Well, okay
  9. File IL-2 SINGLE SEATER ZAVOD 18 (6).pdf - revised Page 357. I may be wrong, but it seems to me that the pilot has a mirror on the right of the movable part of the canopy, the counterpart of a surrogate gunsight for firing from a rear guns.
  10. Amendment: File IL-2 TWO SEATER ZAVOD 18 (7).pdf Pages 422, 423 "Rear wheel heel", photos from DB-3 File IL-2 TWO SEATER ZAVOD 30.pdf Pages 20-36 inclusive, This is the PB-100 turret, dismantled from the navigator's cockpit of an early Pe-2. In my opinion, the mass availability of these turrets in warehouses was caused by the beginning of the conversion of the Pe-2 into the FT modification. Page 37, Po-2 turret. Page 38, Di-6/Yak-2 turret. Pages 39-43, MV-3 turret with removed cupola, front added custom armor plate. Page 44, UTK-1 turret with removed cupola. Page 48, UTK-1 heavily custom modified. Page 49, LU UBT bottom turret from Pe-2 with using a custom modified bottom turret frame from IL-4.
  11. It's amazing to read this from the point of view of modern life, thanks for the clarification! It seems that there were never tenderlings in the paratroopers
  12. Cheers https://www.facebook.com/DLinevich/posts/pfbid036QD1qccybM3QEJoG86FFd4z6vprHa6V9L29ugCW43uskh33VBmW6FNFZQwKWy1LTl
  13. Sorry, but I'm not the person to give the Competency Ratings. Find someone who acts on your level of understanding, this is a public place and there is no point in demanding something personally for yourself.
  14. In my case, this means that the differences are very noticeable in a simple comparison. For a specialist, this can be seen in the image that I attached, if you do not understand this, I have nothing to do with it.
  15. Very beautiful work! One note, there should be only 4 bombs. If someone else wants to make soviet Boston B, but does not know what to choose, there is also such a night fighter with a Gneis-2 radar Тhe placement of antennas is the same as for Boston C
  16. No one will answer you why there is such a structure, no one has seen drawings for single seaters, it is not even known whether it survived
  17. Here is a later single seater from Kulong, which in Novosibirsk is now being restored to flight condition
  18. Hi, I have seen your project on fairey iiif, could you sell a 3d model and for how much?

I need to make a model of this plane for a simulator, but I am experiencing difficulties with the timing and references, so I am considering purchasing the finished work for use as a reference.

    Regards, Dmitry
