  1. Wonderful work mate! Just saw your RFI and chased it down here Where abouts do we get future in Australia?? I must be called something else right? Coles: nope, Bunnings: nope. Also, a lot of your images are no longer visible I'm assuming from the image host service.
  2. Beautiful pictures! These are truly works of art up close, so nice to see up close
  3. I know right! One needs to poke around and find clues. And i found another for a generation of M1's. http://mototribumedia.com/constructeur/yamaha/m1/index.html I would love me a 2005 m1 in yellow ( fave colour and colour of My real world 1098 duc)
  4. Worth a risk! The full kit comes with decals for other bikes too with switch plates and tank badges for earlier Honda's and Suzukis from memory. I'll reach out to them and see what they say. Darius
  5. I'm leaving this here in case i lose the link. Great motor details: https://bikereview.com.au/feature-valentino-rossis-2004-title-winning-yzf-m1-tech-development/
  6. Since I needed to search for the link to the WIP: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235094793-cadillac-le-monstre-112-scratch/page/5/
  7. Hi! I have a Ducati 888 from Tamiya in 1/12 I'm now a proud owner of that I'm looking at detailing up with PE and resin, and just found out that GB Models from Italy does a kit, has anyone had any experience with this mob with this or other kits? Looks great but also seems like the only game in town for detail up kits available for the duc at least at a reasonable price and or easy to source. https://www.gbmodels.it/models-1/ducati-888-sbk/ Thoughts appreciated! Darius
  8. My apologies, you did indeed. I'm on my phone and so not Infront of a large screen. Hadn't noticed!
  9. What is your power source and where is it mounted? That would be the hard part to hide if it's external
  10. Damn that's impressive! I did the same with a cockpit detail on my 1/72 Sam fighter adding lighting via smd's. I really adds visual value as the headlights and taillights on your kit would go wasted without it! Looks great, and i totally do not know how people do such great work printing their own parts. It's a Pandora's box for me to to be honest
  11. I second the Skoal, not a usual thing you see on Suzuki's!
  12. That's the unfortunate game though. Would need more tooling etc so i understand...but also at $60+ AUD no, i don't understand. I'll be popping in to your build to have a looksee! Have you got a page?
  13. Check for the exhaust to actually fit Chec-ca! Looking at real examples of swingarms showed me that the inside of it's structure was never really as the model depicts. So this needed filling. Styrene sheet on hand a a paper cut out was done to fill it in. Mental note, do it before it gets glued together! And here is the finished item waiting for the putty to dry. Has anyone finished this model? Can you please weigh it as a finished model? I'm a stickler for having it feel right in the hand as well as looking the part, so will add weight if necessary. This complete, should work out to 90 grams if going by the cubic division of scale Adios Muchachos!!
  14. Need more of these around here! This is a beautifully made bike!
  15. Hi all, been a while since I have been on here, moved house, rebuilt my motorcycle, started 2 more to build, started a business building said motorcycles, and yet to finish the last 2 WIP's : Aussie sabre and reppu "Sam" both 1/72 fighter planes. I'm doing this build as a gift to my missus father who i have yet to meet overseas. Kind of a break the ice type gift. He's a massive Yamaha fan, and a motorcycle mechanic himself so i thought this would be fitting. I initially wanted to do a 50th anniversary, or failing that a Rossi version but the prices!!! So this was the other option, and as well as the kit i all upspeced it with a Tamiya detail up kit for the forks and a Top Studio resin kit. My first resin kit i have used so bear with me. This being a gift, i have 4 months to build it so unlike my previous 2 builds, this one NEEDS to be done. Started with the engine, normal Tamiya step one https://www.flickr.com/photos/191561787@N07/51752151409/in/dateposted-public Test fitted the exhaust to allow for the oxygen sensors fitted This is Mandatory as the alignment is very important to not fowl on anything
  16. Indeed i did, to add to that a quest to learn basic electronic principles as they were to be an intimate part of my build, with the light up position lights and dashboard. Needless to say i spent more time in research and schematics then i did from that point on in the build. In closing, fun indeed!
  17. I must say, you move like lightning! Job well done, and excellent seeing both together! Very fitting. Now for a vignette??? Oh and "errormaster" .. i had a great laugh at that
  18. Thanks for hosting this GB lads, great turnout and commentary! Some fine work from the contributors! iv been away from the bench since last post and will need to finish in my own time, this is my first attempt at a GB, so for the next will need to balance my time and spread my energy; less details balanced with more process. Also my point of failure is airbrushing and considerable lack of confidence in my ability to get consistent results, at least to my eyes. It's been fun watching along with the rest of the members! Thanks!
  19. Cutting it a little close to the deadline, but another update from about a week back. Made use of the fact i needed to clip the wings and installed as a dry fit my idea to use fibre optic cable to transmit the position lights on the wings edges. These will be tinted appropriately. Cockpit assembled with PE Dials sanded back and dash boxed in to make way... notice the 1mm hole in the back. This is effectively a projector... Black primer to help with light leakage The reason I went down this road is to be able to use the clear transfers the Edward PE set had included. Will be using (a) for the US type, not the japanese type. The rear struts got the same treatment with PE, left is the set, right is mine made up as it made the sound of ricocheting all over without being found. How everything looks blacked out. This is being lit with a small SMD LED. About 1mm across. Cockpit extra details Till next time
  20. Finally made a decision on the wings, going from some plans (not the best but enough for measuring) it turned out i need to clip them off. I will get exact measurements soon but looks around 3-4mm. No going back now. By some coincidence, the new width is almost the same as the fuselage is long. How about that. Also i feel o would like to integrate strobing position lights with the help of fibre optic cable. For now this is the result so far.
