Hi all, I'm still battling away on this one........... But work keeps getting in the way........plus have been very ill over the last 3 weeks So might not be able to finish within the time frame............... Now for the AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGhh moment come tonight to mask & spray the cockpit canopy on the huey to find two holes about 1.2mm in dia smack bang in the middle of each half of the screen They are not "moulding" faults, But look like they have been drilled out............ They were in their sealed bag and the kit was sealed when I bought it.............. So the question is......... (1) How can I "fill" these holes in ? How do you do this ? (2) Has anyone had dealings with Dragon trying to get replacement parts? ..... Do Dragon even do replacements ???? I'd rather replace than try to fix, as my modelling skills are at best below average Any help gratefully accepted Cheers Paul

As the title says......... Ref: Tamiya acrylic paints I've shaken the bottle, used a "badger" paint stirrer then carfully painted my "pre-primed" items on the spue....... Only for the paint to go / turn shiny on me, even though it's a "flat" colour................... What am I doing wrong................? Primer is halfords or Tamiya "plastic primer" Top coat is Tamiya acrylic.............either straight out the bottle or a mixture of two from a spare jar I have read somewhere (Not on this forum) that if you add some Tamiya X-21 flat base, this cures the "shiny" issue........... Is this true......... Just what & how do I use this X-21 ?? Any help at this time would be great as I'm in the middle of a group build Cheers

Cheers for the reply Mike, Now I know what I can / cannot do with it

Hi all, I know this might have been covered at sometime in the past but I cannot find the thread.............. And as I've never used this "Etch" stuff before, I'm at complete loss........ (Got the needle & haystack) Anyway....... The Huey I'm building has 2 etch sets in it......... 1 x plain set & 1 x coloured set........... The instructions mention something called "Instant glue for metal" ?? So my questions are ..................... What can I use to stick etch to plastic.? Does it matter if the plastic is painted first ? How do I prime etch ready for top coat ? Is Etch the same as P.E. ? why the different names ? I await your replys

Just a quick update........ Mind, it's only been 3 days since the start of the GB This is the first time I've done any figures in any scale for about 30yrs, so be kind with me ! I have 10 to do on this GB................. 6 in the LRRP's team 2 door gunners 2 pilots Had to dig out the dremel for these two..... As they are from the US Marines (TET Offensive) set, I had to remove there "M-1969" Flak jackets, their thigh pockets need altering as they are wrong shape for "tiger stripe" trousers. Different heads wil be used, some webbing gear will be built onto them using plastic card 5 down, 1 to go.......... The figure on the left has had different arms fitted, than what comes in the kit. AND now for something completely different............ This is the trumpeter 1:3 scale kit number 01903 The kit comes as a AR15 / M16 with bits to make a M16A1 with 3 prong muzzle, (except it's not a 3 prong), but it does come with a birdcage...Trouble is but the body mouldings are wrong............. Hence the "white" filler markings on the bodyside just above the magazine......... The M16A1 had what is know as a "full fence" with birdcage muzzle and "forward assist" which is the dark piece above the pistol grip. I'm just waiting for the XM177E2 to come out now.....

All the following are in 1/32nd........... I have the following kits in the stash Tamiya F-4e kit number 60310 Revell F-4f (50th anniversary) kit number 04743 Revell RF-4e (F-4f) (Immelmann) kit number 4754 Revell RF-4c kit number 04702 TAC scale dynamics F-4g "Wild Weasel" conversion. kit number 32015 to convert a Revell F-4f into a F-4g Now I'd like to do the Tamiya F-4e straight from the box but use these AM bit's I've got....... Eduard "big Ed" 3202 D Mold 32001 intakes Paragon 3210 resin M/B mk 7 seats The Revell Rf-4c straight from the box with some AM & resin (when I can find some) So that leaves the question..............From the two remaining kits (50th ) or the (Immelmann) Which one would be the best to use the Tac scale F-4g conversion kit on ? Bearing in mind that the Immelmann kit is raised panel lines.. I'm planning ahead for next years F-4 Phantom group build, but want to get the AM & resins before I run out of money And finally............ Has anyone used this AM resin/etch kit Flightpath UK FHG53203 as listed on the Hannetts website ? ? Cheers Paul I await the barrage of 'incoming'

Never had any issues with their delivery service (last lot took 11 days to arrive) And their prices seem fair, considering they are in the States............. Hope this is of some help
