  1. I wish I could have worked that fast....
  2. Good afternoon/evening. I think Vallejo do the exact 3 colours in the model air range . 71.344 71.344 71.345. Plus they do the Russian paint set too that all 3 are included. Simon
  3. Good evening gents. I flat coated in 36270. After adding black and green portions it was far too dark. Now I have gone over with 36375. Again slightly too dark but I think any lighter shade would be far too light so hopefully with decals and varnish it will all come together.. Again gratitude to all fellow modellers for help and continued enthusiasm Simon
  4. Many thanks for that great post. I was erring towards 36270 for the main buy with the glare on many photos it certainly does appear a shade paler. The dreen is probably 34086 ish. Definitely a different sheen on the radome. Just got to up my shares with a well known masking tape supplier.....
  5. Sorry.... senior moment... Forgot to mention that it's the F-16 Simon
  6. Good afternoon fellow modellers. I am a lover of obscure colours and what ifs. Just started to replicate "passionate patsy" from Luke AFB in 1:72. I have a gauge of the basic colours but struggling to work out the fs grey main body colour and the green for the spine. I'm also a sucker for trying to get it correct (hence the question) Regards Simon
  7. Good evening. I have an idea that it's a very early AIM- 9B with the squareness of the rear fins. The 9-B then had the fins tapered or blended to improve stability. Regards simon
  8. Good evening. Not an Expert in this but I would probably go to FS37173 or the raf equivalent of FS26173 - Proud grey. I have trolled my knowledge base and a friend who works at Marham has almost insisted it's the same as the C-17. Hope this helps. Regards Simon
  9. Hello & welcome. I too had the ceiling danglers back in the day. Although never cleaned them... I mainly stick to 72nd relatively modern stuff but aiming to at some point invest in a fibre optic millennium falcon. Simon
  10. Wow. Wow. Wow . Thank you so much for the info. I'm currently deep into a pair of f-15 aggressor kits. Blue and brown. As soon as I have them finished the scratching will begin.... Ta muchly Simon
  11. Welcome. I too remember trying to remove glue and paint from my mums kitchen table. I now get in trouble with the Wife for the same reason... Simon
  12. Hi all.. Hope you all had a jolly Christmas and looking forward to a different (hopefully better) new year. I have been searching for a long long long.... Time for anyone who has the old maintrack conversion for the RC-135U failure resulting in a decision to maybe scratch building. Is there anyone who has or knows where I can find some detail plans as most photos are either very grainy when zooming or lack a good angle.. Many regards Simon

    Hi there....

For the first time I have recently started using the Xtreme metal paints with base coats of gloss black rattle can. After revamping a couple of kc-135a's along with some warbird decals on 1 and homemade on the other I am extremely impressed with the finish....now halfway through converting 3x A-10 as the 3 Jaws versions from Nellis... Oh what have I started.... I'm dreaming with spots to count instead of sheep... Simon

    Hi there....

Thank you both for the warm welcome. I tried to battle on for years (on and off) with variants of the humbrol/badger glass jar but could never get the mix right. Now using a Harder and Steenbach infinity.... O.m.g. with the combination of Mr color (my favourite) model air and ak acrylics. It was well worth the investment... Simon
  15. A little about me. I have been modelling now for many years (very occasionally) but lockdown got me hooked again. Busy time now rejuvenating old models with my new love of acrylic paint (instead of religious use of traditional enamel). Along with a very nice new airbrush.
