  1. I think you should introduce them to your excellent solicitor. She already has half the story anyway
  2. I've started this post three times and run out of superlatives and started over. What can one say. That's model making that is just....... World Class. I never cease to be totally amazed at the skill levels shown by you chaps. Interestingly often in quite different ways. There is just so much to learn but I know if I tried it my Supermarine S6B would end up looking more like a Blackburn Blackburn Incredibly well done and a joy to watch/read. Thank you Now back to murdering my plastic thingy.
  3. My inner 10 year old feels for you. Those doors were the bane of my childhood
  4. I’ve got one but not started it. As @gingerbob said @Iain Ogilvie has done a good review over on Large Scale Planes which is worth a read. Reviews for both boxings too. He might have done a build review or wip. Personally it’s worth the money and the only game in town in this scale. That said it’s sort run and not Tamiya fit so treat as short run
  5. It might be worth contacting Alan Wilson of Icelandic Models who was planning on a 1/32 Lightning
  6. Well - its sold as an injected mould 1/32 Lightning and the only game in town. Thats its plus point. A true Trumpeter C team effort. When you look carefully lots of shapes are out. I have both versions unbuilt as whenever I feel the urge to do one I look at the cockpit and its just soo off. @Ali62 at Aerocraft does a good canopy which goes a good way to taking your eye off the issues. Others more knowledgeable than I will give you the run down on where its off. Ian Ogilvie was torturing himself trying to do a full correction set but I think the therapy sessions were getting expensive. It has had a lot of bashing with some justification. If however you can live with the shape issues and if you must have an injected mould 1/32 Lightning it is the only game in town as I said. PS There is the excellent Echelon Vac kit from way back long OOP but they do come up from time to time on auction site and don't worry about a yellowed vac canopy - again Aerocraft have done a resin replacement for that.
  7. Available in any udder scales? and we are off ps good review though. Not sure I could have waxed as lyrical. Good diorama stuff I imagine
  8. I found this site giving details of Chinese (CIA) use as well as info on other countries use https://napoleon130.tripod.com/id249.html
  9. Now that gives your age away ! Either that or you study economics ! Yes I think there was such an encounter but unlike the box top it wasn't the Mossie mark as you note. I'd add I don't think the Me 262 was carrying a bomb load either. Fair play to Airfix though the "Dogfight Doubles" were an interesting match up of kits. Thinks? "Dogfight Doubles" might make an interesting GB but I digress. The original kit was frankly a bit of a pig.
  10. I recall the old Airfix kit as one of the first that caused tears and frustration in a 10 year old me. I think it was the u/c doors which when done in flight mode only fit where they touched in two or three places. Still she was my Mossie
  11. and if talking 1/24 Hawk why no 1/24 Hawker Hunter ? (F6 please)
  12. Those comparison diagrams are really interesting. What with all the comments about the lack of ceiling on the Stirling and it being down to wings of lesser span the actual difference doesn't seem to be all that huge. The span seems to be about the same as the Halifax 1 and three feet shorter than the Lancaster. Its the length that boggles the mind. Given the ceiling performance differences between them I guess other factors come into play as to casualty figures not least the old Billy Connolly joke about the film crew and the lion. "I don't have to run faster than the lion - just faster than you." Jings @tomprobert The Connie is huge. Ryan Air would squeeze at least 3 passengers into it.
  13. I met a clients father who was a flight engineer on Stirlings, the Halifax’s and finally Lancasters. I asked him what his preferred aircraft was out of the three. His answer surprised me. It was the Stirling. Why I asked. Because he said I am 6 foot 2 inches and it was the only one where I could stand at my station without crouching all the way there and back !! He also reckoned there was little performance differences in the real world between the improved Halifax B111 and the Lanc and the former was more crew friendly and easier to get out of if you had to in a hurry. Superb work there Tom. It’s inspiring, intimidating and scary all at the same time
  14. All silliness aside what a wonderful and thought provoking display. War is indeed a terrible waste of mans ingenuity and young mens lives. I wish I had seen it in person.
  15. I’ve not looked in on this thread for a few days and what do I find? Poor Mrs Martian being threatened with a 12 foot frontage ! Then again that might pass for routine in Martian tentacle circles 🤔 Edit. Should have read on. Display of course. Silly me.
  16. Yeah - I read that too. Imagine that on a Ryanair flight.
  17. You have done a great job on the old girl. 1956 mould! I remember buying one in the early 1960’s and I think it was the header and bag style packaging. I didn’t paint mine and the transfers went straight on. The kit is as basic as they come but scrubs up well. In fact not at all bad for mould technology that’s more than a half century ago. 67 years is a long time so the kit has earned its pension. Nice job on her. Thanks for the memory.
  18. One for the books methinks. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-67406779
  19. @Tony C I find gmail a bit too useful to spammers. Nearly all my spam/phishing emails come with a gmail address. I've even seen one email addressed to 40-50 addresses (didn't bother to count but it was obvious that someone had accessed an address list / book and copied and pasted the addresses and then just sent a round robin "We can improve your web site cum diet pills" type email No point in complaining to gmail - if you can find how to complain that is ! They wont do anything anyway even when it is obvious what is happening.
  20. Clever, Clever, Clever. Very different approach to a display and imaginative. I like it a lot. Thank you for showing it here. Bravo
  21. Thankfully it appears only light injuries from the BBC report. I am not sure what the layout of the airport is but where the plane ends up does not feel right. You cant really tell much from the video but the pilots on here might have a thought https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-us-canada-67411262 Some other news reports say the pilot said his reverse thrust failed and others say he was attempting an emergency landing. Not sure how he would be attempting an emergency landing which pre supposes he knew he has a problem though I imagine a loss of reverse thrust would manifest itself actually on landing. I suppose its better than writing "we don't know what happened yet" A more sensible report here https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/347796
  22. According to the Crowood Book by Barry Jones the ex-RAF NF 11's were converted and the guns and ammunition tanks were removed. Not so helpful on the TT8 On the TT8 the MDF book shows a sketch drawing in the Meteor evolution chapter with the gun ports showing for what thats worth. As @Selwyn says - check from photos bestest John
  23. Half right. He has done a great job but it’s not a patch on the Revell kit on two points. First the Revell kit had a sliding canopy. Cool gimmick to a ten year old. Plus the Revell model was painted red. Even as a ten year old I knew Americans were flash
  24. Just as it should be done @Enzo the Magnificent - the old fashioned way. In keeping with the old style "just out today" marketing when we rushed home with the new plastic before our school pals to get it built soonest. An RFI by Tuesday perhaps ? No excuses - you have the decals already. We are all waiting
