  1. What an intriguing character https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amelia_Earhart
  2. Great pics. Thanks for showing them. Brings back memories of a great day out.
  3. yes Mrs T loved the creation of their national flag and the other parts of their display. I thought someone has said “now how do you improve on the Red Arrows?” Laurels to be looked at methinks but the Reds need more support from HMG or at least to have a more appreciative view of what they do.
  4. Smashing photos there. Really nice and good to see the pilots line up especially as we saw them display at RIAT yesterday. A very tight and dynamic routine and extended in time. The general consensus among people we spoke to was that their display was head and shoulders above the display of the other teams. That's not to knock the others but just to express appreciation of the Korean pilots. I wonder if the aircraft they use assists in the display design given that its not wholly a trainer type and possibly outperforms the types used by say the Red Arrows and the Frecci?
  5. Great tip. Might suggest a day out to Mrs T and put the blame on you Yep. Back again today
  6. Not quite over the house but……. On holidays in Crete and had F-16’s over the hotel high so only seeing plan view. Just regular all morning. Then this afternoon there were another five in a loose formation over Rethymno and given the height and peering between two high rises in the way I think it was maybe a mixed formation of F-16’s and at least one F-35. Could have been an F-15 too? I think some exercise is taking place. Maybe they could be asked return to base at a lower flight level
  7. Italeri are said to have the undercarriage side sponsons too short as well though the resin correction set is impossible to get for early Herc. I’ve been trying for ages.

don't they use superglue to knit you back together sometimes these days. Keep a bottle handy ! great to see you out and home.
  9. And we have not heard from him again in 22 hours. Should we be worried??? And “tied up”. ?? Alongside a quay or jetty? Some strange assignation with a lady who has a strong personality? Acquired many items of gentleman’s neck wear? struggling with over demanding boss at work? The membership needs to know. What is going down in Lincs?
  10. Sadly gone and missed. The spitfire clip was brilliant and to be fair Ray Hanna would have scared the poop stuff out of me too yet he did make fun out of it. Sad to think so many of these guys have gone
  11. A very nice Nimrod biplane there. All the Hawker Fury stable from Sydney Camm's pen were lovely aircraft and you have done justice to one there. There is enough room in the cabinet for a Sea Fury too methinks. And a shelf below for a 1/32 Fury, Hart and Demon
  12. Are we including @Martian big Zeppelin’s in this discussion
  13. Well they certainly started in my existence as a pre 10-11 as toys to supplement tanks and soldiers. Sometime around age 11 I wanted to know more about them and by 12 they stopped being things in my hand scooting over a play battlefield and models of things I wanted to know more about. Then I didn’t want battle damage from diving onto a Panther tank to shoot it up in my mind. So the transition would have been around age 11. At least that’s what grown up me admits to myself anyway. Whether in some dark recess of the mind an 11 year old is still fighting the air battles of yesteryear who knows
  14. Ah but he had a point he needed to share. Very important that
  15. Actually you have to look on both sides here. He has done the service of jumping before being pushed thereby making the Mods life easier so not all bad then
  16. Simon clearly Borders Models should be required to carry a health warning on the box and advertising No galloping at our age please Likely to end badly with a hip replacement you know. I find that a fast stroll is risky enough these days.
  17. Mine arrived and due to work there was a very cursory box open and look at the clear parts. A first quick look says no breakages and not spotted a flow line in the clear but will look again properly tomorrow I did spot a very slight scuffing on two of the bigger parts but nothing that a tiny bit of polishing won’t remove Box is”deep” indeed
  18. Was instantly reminded of ……….. ” I sent the club a wire stating, PLEASE ACCEPT MY RESIGNATION. I DON'T WANT TO BELONG TO ANY CLUB THAT WILL ACCEPT ME AS A MEMBER. Groucho Marx,” or some other variation of what is quoted as saying
  19. I suppose it comes with most human activities at times. I confess I haven’t seen it that often if at all in this hobby but then I’m not a club member and don’t do competitions. I know it would get stood on here by the Mods thankfully which is what makes this a nice place to be at
  20. Just been notified that my one is being delivered by courier tomorrow And Mrs T is likely to be out all day
  21. Even if they did it wouldn’t worry me. I laugh in the face of such threats Now just the thought of Mrs T spotting a box that size being delivered results in a change of undies. Now that’s what I call a threat.
  22. Would a HK models and Fisher F8 conversion which won’t get finished by the end date of the GB be acceptable? Paul Parkes did me some 111 Sqn decals for it a while back so it’s overdue a start
  23. Can’t they just chuck the squatters out?
  24. Forgive my stupid question but is Leuchars absolutely finished as an air base now? I suspect geography might not suit anyway?
  25. Jadlam Models just emailed to say it’s now in stock and orders being processed. Stock is limited so they do have some left after doing the preorders it seems
