  1. Good evening Olivier When you draw your letters you have to open a file that has no background (the background is visualized by a checkerboard), once your drawing or text is done you save it in png format, if you save it in another format, jpg for example, automatically you will have a white background. When you save it as a png the background remains transparent. We use this method for example when creating a website, if for example the background of your page is red, and you want to place a logo on it, if it is in png format, you will have the logo perfectly drawn on a red background. Nice work on the doors, it was worth it. Manu
  2. Hello guys I finished the bodywork and made the mould to form the engine cover. Since a few days there have been big changes...I show you the pictures in the order of the story ;o) See you soon Manu
  3. Good evening oops, I missed your topic. Your work is beautiful and what about your dio. Your machine tools and other workshop tools are superb...I love this kind of creation from scratch, it gives a real added value to the whole. I will follow your work closely.
  4. Hi guys Even if I said I was going to show my car without the body at the beginning, I intend to finish my project...I don't like to give up. So I made the louvers that will come on the rear part of the body. The ones that will be at the very end will be put upside down because they are there to let the air out of the body. To my knowledge, an uncommon thing is that the louvers are on rounded parts, I've never seen that on other cars (it certainly exists) and the louver dies I've seen at customers' are made for a flat surface. If I bend the sheet metal, the louvers crush and stay flat, which is awful. So I made myself a wooden form and I come and shape the roundness of the louvre. It's a test but I want the result to be nice, otherwise I'll cheat and put the louvers on flat surfaces of the body. For the engine cover, it will be much more complicated but first things first. I'll then make a hole in my body and remove a thin layer to stick my aluminium plate (louvers) then putty and paint. Now the pictures...if you have any advice, ideas, remarks, questions, I'll be happy to take them. A+ Manu This is an old picture, but it gives you an idea of the car with a part of the body (fiberglass body) I am happy with the result šŸ˜€šŸ˜€ Test done quickly on a failed plate. The principle seems to work Thank you and see you soon Manu ;o)
  5. Hello Olivier This kind of comparison of photos is complicated to make because the 2 photos are certainly made with different lenses and depending on the distance and focal length used, this can lead to distortions (subject I know). Even if you find that the photos look the same, you can see that on the photo of the real car you can see the tip of the grille whereas on the photo of your model you can't see anything at all! That you are right, ok I think so too but be careful ... Manu
  6. The risk paid off, this golden line is perfectly successful.
  7. You don't remember him having any problems with this product. To give an aged aspect to brass or copper parts, he dips them in a product that blackens the parts (oxidation). Afterwards, the parts must be cleaned thoroughly, otherwise the acid will continue to act until the "metal" is destroyed. Sorry for the irrelevance
  8. Hi If you're talking about harveyb258, he regularly visits the forum. Of course I also hope he's doing well. I'm changing the subject but I hope his model doesn't have any problems with the "blackening" product he uses. In the model shop I go to, the specialist in the paint department told me that there was a lot of negative feedback because of the difficulty to stop the process of this acid.
  9. Oups, sorry, I don't speak a word of English. The translation is sometimes imperfect. I misunderstood what you said ;o))
  10. I found this, you can clearly see a grille in front of the radiator even if it's not exactly the same model. Personally, your reasoning seems to me fair and realistic. Manu https://www.fiskens.com/cars-for-sale/Alfa-Romeo-8C-2300-Zagato-Spider/12457.htm
  11. Hello Yes, thank you very much for your detailed answers. I've always preferred satin to gloss in paint, but it's a matter of taste. I'll look into it ;o) Good luck with your model which I follow with passion.
  12. Hello The delivery was fast I think! I can't wait to see your tests to see if you gain in quality. Have you seen that there is an ELEGOO Mercury Plus washing and curing machine? It must be new as I had seen tests of another brand and thought it was really good. If I ever buy a resin printer I will get this machine too.
  13. Superb. I really like the red you use, can you tell me the reference and the brand. I'm sorry but I don't understand the translation of "semi gloss clear was sprayed". Is it a varnish that you apply on the red? Thank you very much.
  14. A lot of attention to detail in the way you do things. The result is really nice
  15. Good luck then. Given the quality of your front paint, I have no doubt about the final result.
  16. Pascal, superb work as usual. I'll be following it all with passion.
  17. Hello Why don't you just put a piece of tape to hold the cup on the gun or a piece of plumbing Teflon tape, you make the number of turns so that the thickness will allow the cup tube to jam. In the tinkers you make you certainly change the tube diameters and lengths!!!! You make life very complicated
  18. Knowing a little about your work and your way of doing things, the "just acceptable" must be transformed into the "exceptional" for the common man. We will soon be entitled to a new car, I hope.
  19. Hello guys Thank you for your many messages. Since I made myself a dividing chuck, it was the opportunity to test it by making the numerous notches on the steering wheel hub. It is now "spectacular".
  20. Hello It's been a little while since I took pictures of my "finished" car so I have to present them to you. "Finished" in the sense that for the moment I'm going to present it like this (without the bodywork). The feedback I've had is that it's nice to be able to look at all the details and I also agree. For the moment I haven't done anything new on the bodywork. I made a hydraulic press a few months back and then I did a quick test to make the ventilation holes. It's a quick test, nothing is calibrated or wedged. Still in my manufacturing, I also made a very small dividing mandrel for model making, I should have done it before. Last week I also bought a bench milling machine, something made for model making and small mechanics, it is now in place, and like the metal lathe I can't wait to find out how to use it ( @PROPELLER: thanks Dan for your tips and advice). Let's get back to the car, there are some mistakes I made. I was able to correct some of them and others I didn't.Also lack of informationrI also lacked information and at times I interpreted certain things. When you discover the so exciting world of scratch, you would never stop and the experience you acquire over time makes you always want to redo some parts...that's what I did several times but after a while you have to stop. I don't want my subject to drag on (and I hate to start something without finishing it) and I have so many other things to do... Note: the tyres are not nice, they are turned in cartwheels and the rubber is very bad, full of air bubbles. I'll have to mould the tyres for my next project...I'll take the opportunity to make the tyres for the Fiat at the same time. The length of the car is about 24 pouces (if I'm not mistaken in the units of measurement) Thanks to you ;o) Manu A+ Manu
  21. Hello Dan I enjoy myself as I do every time... to the point of viewing your entire subject again. When I look at one of your photos, my brain doesn't say "it's well done" but it gets hotter and hotter to tell me "how should I do this"? And that's great!!!! Keep on regaling us ;o) Manu
  22. Hello Lots of minutiae, nice tricks, a beautiful achievement. Bravo, I am looking forward to the next step. Manu
  23. Hello Pascal, your work is magnificent, what a pleasure to follow it. Oops no bowl for the gear lever, but indeed you can't see anything once the bucket seat is in place.
  24. Hello Dan, very nice work as usual. The chrome rendering is superb. Manu
