  1. Hi, My father has finished another two models of this series. Here are the final photos 29 DH Havilland DH 82 RAAF A17-246 46 N 6 Elementary Flying training school Tamworth, Australia1942 30 DH Havilland DH 82 RAAF A17-494 49 FG as a Hack Mid 1942 Cheers Santiago
  2. Hi Thank you very much. Glad you like them. Thank you very much. Well, is not only about the Tiger Moth I share this passion with my father, Raul Hrubisko. We enjoy the hobby as a team. He began his collection of British warplane models on 1/72 scale when he was fourteen. He read a wartime story involving the De Havilland DH89 Mosquito, and both the story and the aircraft impressed him greatly. It was then that his passion for RAF modelling started, and it eventually developed into what it is today. We have 1120 models done. Our goal is to build All the aircraft types that flew with the Royal Air Force, the Fleet Air Arm and all the Commonwealth (Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Rhodesia, etc.) in the time frame between 1936 and 1947, in all major versions (including field modifications, different or special markings, different armaments, different scheme colour camouflage, etc.) which were used in all the operational theatres or special operations. And to include also Lend-Lease and captured enemy types under British markings. We also try to include in each series the aircraft which were flown by Ango Argentine pilots, most of them had very particular nose arts” Just to give you an idea about the process behind each series of our collection please note: We discuss the following projects (series) taking into account these points: We have information about it (books, magazines, photos, etc.) Number of kits available in our stock Size of the models due to lack of physical space in our display cabinets. After selecting the aircraft to be represented as a sub-collection or series we following steps: Do the selection of each aircraft to be included in the series to achieve our goal (different schemes, markings, etc). Contact our friends in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc to obtain information + photos which cannot be found in the common books or publications. Many of the models cannot even be thinking without their support. Make the number of kits needed and then look out the ways to obtain them at low cost. Make a summary of each aircraft with a detail of the things that must be in mind for building the models (modification of the original kit, colours, markings, etc As you can see we do not do the kits OOB but we try to represent each aircraft with all the different camos, versions, markings, armaments, etc. We do not build a model without a photo. We have made mistakes but always try to do our best in terms of research. Here are two more Tiger finished. 27) DH Havilland DH 82 SAAF 2102 28) DH Havilland DH 82 SAAF 4613 N 8 Elementary Flying training school Cheers Santiago
  3. Hi My father has just started to finish the remaining Tiger now that we have the decals for it. 26) DH Havilland DH 82 Tiger Moth SAAF 2133 Cheers Santiago
  4. Hi There are more models on their way with the decals applied. This series is coming quite nicely. Cheers Santiago
  5. Hi David Sorry, I did not see your post. I will ask my father. We have the decals so the production line has re-started. Cheers Santiago
  6. I just found what you mentioned here: https://www.bombercommandmuseumarchives.ca/bcatpalbertaschooldiaries/diary_claresholm_15sfts.pdf 23-8-42 #15 S.F.T.S. possible flying time12 hours 1300 Flying commenced until 1730 hours Visibility limited by bush fire smoke until 1600 hours #2 F.I.S. possible flying time 12 hours 1330 Flying commenced until 1730 hours Accident: Category "B"; site: 3 miles West, 1 mile south of Stavely, Alta., time: 1535 Hours. Aircraft: Crane FJ.122 - Port Engine, Mfg. No. 11165, R.C.A.F. No. 23944 Starboard Engine, Mfg. No. 11166, R.C.A.F. No. 23945 GB1147945 Sergeant Campey,W., was captain of A/C FJ.122. Other occupant was R.122343 Sergeant Bean C.B. The A/C struck an aerial while low flying. They attempted to return to base on one engine, but were unable to maintain height and crashed. No one was injured. Airframe and both engines seriously damaged At the beginning I thought that it could not be this aircraft since the photo didn´t look "seriously damaged" but then I realized that the second engine couldn´t be seen. The only way you can see it from that angle is if it was broken. So, I think that you are right.
  7. Hi Jerry That is awesome!!!. So, If the date on the photo is 23-8-42 (not 100% sure since my vision is not very good) then we have a winner.. Thank you very very much!!! The last thing is to know the serial number apart from the FJ122. I mean the big numbers on the fuselage since the FJ122 should have been applied smaller. Cheers Santiago
  8. I have checked all the accidents of the 15 Service Flying Training School which appears on the site. I selected the 15 SFTS with a serial number ending in 0, 2, 3, 8 or 9 with an accident like the ones that appear on the photo). Unfortunately, the date does not match. The options so far are these: https://caspir.warplane.com/crashcards_pdf/0010/00000001.pdf https://caspir.warplane.com/crashcards_pdf/0013/00000166.pdf https://caspir.warplane.com/crashcards_pdf/0020/00000190.pdf https://caspir.warplane.com/crashcards_pdf/0010/00000012.pdf https://caspir.warplane.com/crashcards_pdf/0020/00000199.pdf I will check more carefully again Cheers Santiago
  9. Hi Geoffrey Thank you very much for the link. It is great. !!! Yes, agree. The date looks reads 23-8-42 (not 43) and the serial number should end in 0, 2, 3, 8 or 9 (as per the photo I posted). Great photo. Thanks!!. I will try to figure out the serial of the one I posted, if not I will go for this one. Cheers Santiago
  10. Hi Thanks to @Carl V we have a very nice selection of photos of the Cessna Crane used by RCAF during WWII. We are thinking about doing this series shortly. We are trying to do some series of less known aircraft. During my research, I came across this site: BCATP Station Claresholm (bombercommandmuseumarchives.ca) At the middle page appears the following photo: It looks like the cowlings were painted in red. Am I right? If so, is there any possibility to trace the serial number? The only information is that belongs to No. 15 EFTS and the photo reads. ..."23/8/43" Thank you very much in advance Kind regards Santiago
  11. Hi Steve My father has finished the model. We will ask our friend Luis for the decal for the inscription that says 'Zaunkonig´in order to finish it. It is a nice addition to our collection of captured German aircraft. Cheers Santiago
  12. Hi Steve, Thank you very much for the file. It has helped us a lot. !!!! Cheers Santiago
  13. Hi Steve, Thank you very much for your post. I think that I will go for the RLM02 as the overall colour with a slightly darker grey for the German markings. Great. We will ask to our friend for that inscription in order to be able to do this model. Cheers Santiago
  14. Hi Ed. Thank you very much for your comments on this topic. We will probably go for the aluminium dope. There is a second photo on that site which shows the roundels underwing. https://www.prints-online.com/aviation-images/brunswick-lf-1-zaunkoenig-18400284.html Does anyone know what this inscription reads? Cheers Santiago
  15. Hi, My father is finishing our Tiger Moth series and I have started to look for our next projects. We are very close to achieving one of the key points in our goal which is building all the German aircraft used or tested by the British / Commonwealth with the "new" markings applied. We have done 137 models and these are the missing ones (we still have to do a final check) - B&V222 We only have one kit and there are two options. - Junkers 352 We have two kits which is enough (next on the queue) - Junker 52 We have 6 kits (not sure if it will be enough) - Junker F13 We have one model to build. - Brunswick LF-1 Zaunkonig (On the line) - Junker 86 We have 5 kits to do (SAAF). My father has started with the Brunswick LF-1 Zaunkonig but we only have some references from the internet. https://www.a-e-g.org.uk/zaunkoenig.html Does anyone could help us with the colour?. Which could have been the colour applied? I am referring to the photos with the RAF markings applied. Thank you very much Cheers Santiago PD: This is the list of the models done so far ARADO Ar 96 B Air Minister 120 435 DSRU ARADO Ar 196 A3 W Nr 1006 No. 333 (Norwegian) Squadron Royal Air Force ARADO Ar 196 A3 VM748 ARADO Ar 232 B0 Air Minister 17 ARADO Ar 234 B-2 Air Minister 24 ARADO Ar 234 B-2 VK877 Air Minister 26 ARADO Ar 234 B-2 AR234 Air Minister 226 BLOHM AND VOSS Bv 138 BUCKER Bu 131 B --- 1941 BUCKER Bu 181 C-1 Bestmann W Nr 4022 VM 215 BUCKER Bu 181 C-1 Bestmann --- BGA 338 Minimoa --- DORNIER Do 17 ex Yugoslavian Dk 17 --- 1941 DORNIER Do 22 306 No. 2 (Yugoslav) Squadron under the control of No. 230 Squadron 1941-1942 DORNIER Do 24 T Early 1946 DORNIER Do 24 T DORNIER Do 217 M-9 AM 7, WkNr 0040 --- DORNIER Do 217 M-1 AM 107 W Nr 56158 --- DORNIER Do 217 M-1 AM 106, W Nr 56527 --- DORNIER Do 335 A-1 Pfeil --- DORNIER Do 335 A-12 Anteater --- FIESELER Fi 156 C-3 Storch Air Min 99 --- 1945 FIESELER Fi 156 C-3 Storch NM+ZS No. 3 Squadron RAAF --- FIESELER Fi 156 C-3 Storch HB FIESELER Fi 156 C-3 Storch Desert Air Force Communication Fligh, February 1943 FIESELER Fi 156 C-3 Storch VP546 FOCKE ACHGELIS Fa 223 E Drache --- Airborne Forces Experimental Establishment (AFEE) --- FOCKE ACHGELIS Fa 330 --- Airborne Forces Experimental Establishment (AFEE) --- FOCKE WULF Fw 58 C-2 Weihe TE+BK AM117 --- January 1946 FOCKE WULF Fw 189 A3 WNr 0173 --- August 1945. 16. Hi My father has made some progress on 6 more Tigers which are now ready for the decals. Our friend Luis is doing some special decals for us to be able to finish the series. Cheers Santiago
  17. Hi I wonder if someone of you could help me with the following. I found this photo in the book Air Arsenal North America - Aircraft for the Allies 1938-1945 - Purchases and Lend Lease page 49 I was not able to find any photo of the De Havilland Tiger Moth with Type C roundels on the upper wing until now. I am not sure when this picture was taken. Was it during the war or it was taken after it? Thank you very much Cheers Santiago
  18. Hi Paul My father has finished 25 Tiger Moths so far. The final number for this series will be 50 models. The latest 6 kits will arrive soon. 25) De Havilland DH82 Tiger Moth A17-26 RAAF Cheers Santiago
  19. Hi, I have just figured out that Fleet 50 Freighter was used by the RCAF during WWII so we must do it. Unfortunately, I have almost no information less photos of it. Any help will be much appreciated Cheers Santiago
  20. Thank you very much for your comments. Yes, my father has worked a lot of these models and the result is very very good. I am really have proud of him Please send me a PM with your email and I will send you what we have. Cheers Thank you very much JR. They look really good. Cheers
  21. Hi We have a lot of information and photos about the Fleet Model 60K Fort from Carl Vincent. @Carl V. We have selected 3 models. Unfortunately It was impossible from us to get the only kit ofthis aircraft (Classic Airframe) so my father has just done them from scratch. 1) Fleet Model 60K Fort 3562 at Rockcliffe in the summer of 1941 2) Fleet Model 60K Fort 3563 at Rockcliffe fitted with skies 3) Fleet Model 60K Fort 3609 of 2 WSwas The three models togethers. Cheers Santiago
  22. Hi, Please find below the progress made so far. Cheers Santiago
  23. Hi My father made some progress on these models. Cheers Santiago
  24. Hi @Graham Boak and @KRK4m for your comments. I agreed with you that It was most probably re painted locally in DG/DE. I cannot see the mid demarcation so the big question is the undersides. So far the first option is yellow. I also not sure about the size of the wing roundels. Many thanks Cheers Santiago
