Some years ago, that question was asked in a spanish modeliing site, no longer existing....

For what it's known, no special meaning, just a kind of "nose art". Some sources go further in this matter, and claim it to be the "motto" of the liasion pilots from Ala de Caza nº 12. There's an old saying here in Spain, for those who work hard with no rest, its said that "trabajan como chinos" (work like a chinese).

Those little planes were always ready for service, doing all kind of works, from liaision, light transport, delivery van, fire fighting, reconnaissance, VIP transport and so. But that's just a spurious theory.

Good Morning, Chris......I've just seen the article you've kindly sent me, and can't say nothing but THANK YOU. It's an amazing source of information, surely more than my limited modelling skills will take advantage of...!!!!

I'm not a rivet counter at all, but accuracy is very important for me when it comes to colours and markings. Of course, general outlines and measurement are important when choosing a kit, but won't disregard an old kit just because it's old. With some care and work, any old kit can be built into a nice replica. I've found the Hobbycraft kit a nice, quick,  problem free build. Just the included PE set is a little bit challenging, but that's just because it's made of steel, and it's dificult to bend.

Another fellow Britmodeller, Mr. Scott Hemsley,  sent me a very interesting colour chart, showing the right colours for RCN machines. There's a colour pantone with FS equivalences wich has been very useful. It claims the colours to be DSG over Sky, but what the canadians called Sky is a completely diferent colour then the british original. According to that info, the canadian Sea Furies were gradually repainted, because they thought that the canadian "sky grey" (similar to the MSG) was a better colour than the greenish british Sky.

Anyway, this kit is going to be a clean, well kept machine, so I'll keep weathering to a minimum. The original colours will show at their best, with no pre or post shading at all....maybe a little "toy like" to my taste, but an enjoyable build.

Did the same with my previous Canuck build, a Harvard IV in overall yellow, and I'm quite happy with the result.

For the last months, I've developed a strange taste for canadian aircraft....I'm building a RCN Sea Fury Fb.11

using the an Hobbycraft kit wich, to my surprise, had a PE set and some resin accesories. My second canadian build is a Menasco engined Tiger Moth...I'm using an old Smer kit wich I've been correcting, using the nice Aeroclub kit as a guideline.....

Well, 40 sterling pounds sound good to my ears. I was trying to buy one at ebay for 40USD or so, but the GSP didn't allow me to purchase it, because it seems they at the States don't know where the Canaries are....!!!!

hi, Paul.....I cannot place an offer, 'cause its your kit. I want to be honest, and don't want to offer an insulting amount, but don't want to play fool and offer an excessive one neither ...please, tell me your price including S+H costs to the Canary Islands, and maybe we'll get an agreement...I think it would be quite unfair from me to put a price to someone's kits...
