  1. Thank you very much. Now, my brother is trying to get those books online.... Best regards!
  2. Hi all.... Asking in behalf of my brother, who is interested about building a FAA Seafire involved in the attacks carried against the battleship "Tirpitz" back in '44. Operations Tungsten, Mascot and/or Goodwood. Not much useful info at our hand. Is there any available info (pic, profile, decal sheet....), about the said subjects? AFAIK, those Seafires were from 801, 842 and 880 NAS (Op. Tungsten), 894 NAS (Op. Mascot), 801, 880, 887, 894 (Op. Goodwood). Were those Seafires Mk.II, Mk.III, or a mixed bunch of both marks? TIA and BEST regards from Tenerife.....
  3. Thanks you very much, Troy.....both for such an useful info and for taking your time on explaining.... To be honest, maybe using an ICM Mk.VIII as a donor for both the wings and spine, and using the Aeroclub kit, would be a more accurate approach, and Build the Academy kit OOB, just for fun... BEST regards!!
  4. Dear Sirs: I've been given an Academy Spitfire Mk.XIVc in 1/48 scale kit as a present. I have an Aeroclub 1/48 scale Spitfire FR.Mk.XVIII7XIV (K834) conversion in my stash since can't remember when......... Would it be too difficult to correct the Academy's nose, using the Aeroclub kit as a donor? Given the fact Airfix has blessed us with their excellent Mk.XIV and XVIII kits, and AFAIK theyi`re not going to offer a "high spine", early Mk.XIVc kit, I was wondering about the idea of taking advantage of what already is in my stash. The other option would be building the Academy kit straight OOB, and live with that....... Best wishes from Tenerife
  5. Well, thank you very much for your kind answers. I'll try to give Xtradecals a try. Planning to visit Hannants website soon..... Thanks!
  6. Not really sure about the subject, but AFAIK, those Mk.I were camouflaged, some of them showing PRU Blue undersides...they looked quite nice indeed. I've already checked Xtradecals availability in Hannants, but no specific Decals for MK.1 Vampires....
  7. Good afternoon..... I'm due to placing an order for the Wells Props' dh 100 Mk.1 conversion kit for the Airfix kit, but can`t find any source for suitable decals. Any idea out there? TIA and best regards from Tenerife.
  8. Good afternoon, guys..... It's been a long time since I last wrote anything here. I'm returning to the hobby at a steady, slowlier than desired pace. Lots of things not worth mentioning here, but several health issues and my Dad´s passing away have kept me away from modelling for longer than expected. And that included any online interaction. Juan has just returned back from Irak last month, and he's now on a well deserved holidays with his wife. Anyway, you can ask any question you should need to. Anas Werner correctly stated, the last kit he developed is the 1/48 Pilatus PC21, in both spanish and australian colours. Best regards from Tenerife.
  9. If they didn't take It very seriously about colours back then, on the real planes, why doing It today with scale models? You could find a different array of shades within a line of planes. As previously said, maintenance depots didn't care much about It!
  10. Please note that the paints used by the spanish Ejército del Aire back then, were supplied by a company named Titanlux. They were enamel paints, but the hues varied a lot depending on the painting process at maintenance level.
  11. Hi all.....not an expert by any mean, but here arey my Two cents. First thing to note: the colours used on that museum restoration are wrong. That colour scheme, known as "Inmaculada Concepción", was common during the early sixties. It was used on CASA352, CASA2111 and Ha1112L. Fuselage was painted aluminium enamel, and undesurfaces were in light blue. For the light blue, Humbrol 89 is an almost exact match. By the way....the "Peugeot Blue" colour Legend behind the earlier "Buchones" Paint, is just that, a Legend. That dark blue was actually a Hispano Aviación Factory applied colour, used on other aircraft such as the HA100 Triana or some prototypes. It resembled the colour of Comandante Comas' own Peugeot 203, but It wasn't an automotive Paint at all BEST regards from Tenerife!!
  12. Hi, Alex.....PM sent!!!! Hi guys, everything's fine Up there in old Britannia?
  13. Thanks a lot.. that's a very useful information. Best regards!
  14. Hi all.... Were the B25 Mitchells fitted with lap or shoulder belts, or both of them? TIA and BEST regards
  15. Thanks a lot, gents. All your info have been of great help. Now I'm sure I must discard the old Monogram J, and resume my project using an Accurate Miniatures D as a starting point. Best regards, and have a Happy weekend!!
  16. Thanks for your answer... According to Squadron Signal's In Action, HD326 is a Mitchell III, but some other info in my collection say It's a Mitchell II, as you correctly say. What lead me to a sea of doubts, are the tail gunner and side fuselaje gunners positions, both features from.the B25J. On the other hand, haven't been able tomfind any Pic showing the undersurfaces.....can't figure out about underwing codes or so.... Best regards
  17. Thanks for the info. Anyway, I'll keep searching for some pics of those yellow/black trainers.
  18. Beautiful "Bacalao" (cod). I've been working for years in the old Hobbycraft kit in 1/48 scale. Hope mine turns out half as nice as yours!!!! Cheers
  19. Hi all.....Does anyone know wich changes were made to the mentioned aircraft when they were received by the RAF? I know they weren't supplied with the Norden bombing sights, but what about the radios? Did they keep the original north american equipment, or were they fitted with British radios instead? TIA and BEST regards from Tenerife!!
  20. Dear Sirs: After a long time away from modelling (in every sense) due to severe health issues, I'm slowly resuming my old builds and "shelf Queens". I'd like to ask for info about the RCAF Mitchell II/III used as trainers during the late 40s, early 50s. Specially regarding those yellow/black aircraft wich looked like target tugs. Any good pics or three views drawings? TIA and BEST regards.
  21. Hi, Sirs.... With Juan just returned from Lebanon, we're able to resume activity, but with some limitations due to the poor condition of some rubber moulds. That listing show the kits still fine, but once the rubber moulds will be damaged, they won't be repeated, so the kits won't be available. BEST regards
  22. Dear Sir. My apologies for such an upsetting situation. I've been trying to Contact my friend Juan, but he's deployed at Lebanon right now, and comunication is somehow difficult. Nevertheless, I've ordered a PayPal refund. Last time I talked with him, he assured all those shipments were already sent back then. Maybe the canadian postal services strikes those days had some responsability. According to his shipments records, 12 packets were sent to Canadá in early 2019. We cannot Accept any responsability for a damaged or Lost packet once shipped. Anyway, I prefer to loose some money than being called a thief. BEST regards.
  23. The main "problem" with this kit (originally Hobbycraft), much older then the Academy boxing, is the fact that it represents a canadian CT33 Silver Star, with the proper nose for a canadian built T33.
  24. Excellent info....thank you very much. I'll use British colours then. BEST regards
