Land-Wasser-Schlepper
fpmeyer replied to Juan Carlos Duque Arango's topic in Ready for Inspection - Armour
Guys, I felt sick when I saw it. I always thought about having one of these for myself, but after I saw this amazing model, I was crazy to have it. Congratulations. A very smart painting and spectacular finish. The assault raft idea is the best creativity. This model is meant to be in a magazine. Best. -
Tamiya 1/35 Sd.Kfz 124 Wespe - Italian Front
fpmeyer replied to IanC's topic in Ready for Inspection - Armour
About the Italian Campaign is always interesting, but with a painting like that, it really became more super to see. The figures are also nice. Great, -
Thank you that you liked it. The diorama is practically ready. The delay is being in the snow....as I live in the tropics, so the snow doesn't fall here (!) Of course, it was just a joke. As you know, it takes some time to put the snow in the scenery, it's a slow job and done with patience. Health, Fábio.

Nice classic in winter camouflage. Best, Fábio.

I really liked this clean look. The color resembles (very slightly, of course...) the desert pink used by the British in the western desert during WW2. Health, Fabio.

This Tamiya M5A1 kit has the tactical markings of the Company D, 15th Armoured Battalion, 6th Armored Division, Saarbrücken Area, November-December 1944. The model was painted with acrylic paint. Enamel Washing and oil paint to finish. The half-torso figures are in resin. I used Bison Decals. Scale 1/35. In a diorama the model has more realism. Best Regards, Fábio.

Introducing my interpretation of the 8.8cm Pak 43/1 (L/71) Auf Fgst Pz.Kpfw.III/IV (Sf) more commonly know as the Nashorn. The unit these powerful tank killers, is the s.Pz.Jg.Abt. 525 assigned to Herresgruppe Oberrhein during Operation Nordwind, January 1945. My model is one of the first kits to be released by DML/Dragon. I even mounted it right away, but it was idle for a long time, waiting for a decent paint scheme. The initial proposal was the model still carries a rought winter camouflage scheme of bold White criss-cross stripes over what appears to be a Summer three colour camouflage. The problem was that the 3 camouflage paint was so good that the winter camouflage idea had to be abandoned. In model making, it is sometimes better to err by omission than to err on the side of excess. In the painting, I tried to make the camouflage pattern of the model, with the same typical appearance for the vehicles of this battalion. The driver at his workstation. In this closer image, you can see in more detail the damaged fender.....result of battle damage or bad driver? You can comment what you think... Following the official 3-digit system the vehicle’s number is carried on the superstructure side and the shield of the main gun in solid black. The number was painted onto the left hand portion only of the shield as see here. Chose for this model the early type Pzkw III drive sprocket. I glued the driver in the final position, where he will interact with other figures in a diorama scene, in which Nashorn is a part. In this image, the long barrel of the Pak 43 seems to have no end. The Panzercrew in Field Grey uniform. In the early war years Panzerjager crewman allocated to armoured vehicles were issued the Black panzer uniform as worn by tank crews. By 1942 the Black panzer uniforms were gradually replaced by a Field-grey version as worn by the personnel of the artillery’s assault gun battalions. The shoulder straps they are piped in the Pink branch colour or Waffenfarbe. Heer national emblem, worn on the M43 panzer Field cap and headphone set. In the next photos the model is without the rear doors, so we can have a better view on the details of the deadly 8.8cm Panzerabwehrkanone 43/1 antitank gun inside the combat compartment. The Nashorn with its wide open rear doors. The choice of the open position is obvious due to the diorama scene in which the model will be part. The vehicle’s number was usually repeated at the rear of the fighting compartment as shown here. The battalion’s unit insignia of a Lion standing on a stylised tracked vehicle as show at left. Note the kill markings on the barrel near the muzzle brake. The barrel of the gun was painted with Tamiya acrylic and weathered to give it the look of the German panzer grey. A close-up view of the muzzle brake and the realistic effect of a good paint job. I believe that metallic enamel paints have a better finishing performance than their acrylic counterparts. The model already in its diorama, anticipating what's to come....Assembling and painting this model was a lot of fun. The best part of the game was to design and make a diorama for this remarkable model. As soon as everything is ready, I will post the complete diorama scenario on this forum. Best regards, Fábio.

U.S Army Jeep and Trailer Holland 1944
fpmeyer replied to fpmeyer's topic in Ready for Inspection - Armour
Hey guys! What a good visit. After this simple jeep model, thinking that next week I will publish something more interesting. A German tank with camouflage paint will be really cool to see. Cheers. Fábio. -
My interpretation of the old Italeri jeep kit with the US Army trailer. Scale 1/35. It was finished in the usual manner in Acryl Olive Green. Follow the result: Note that the vehicle is without any unit identification. It will be defined later. The diorama that appears there is about Arnhem (it's ready and it's another model) and will be published soon.... Health for all! Fábio.

I like to see well-made models of historical facts. Models with personality are more interesting. His KT was painted in the "Hinterhalt" camo scheme, commonly referred to as the ambush scheme. This 223 displays a sprayed camo paint scheme in contrast to the hard edged scheme seen on most other KT of the SS-Panzer-Abt 501. Only in the cannon tube is the color contour more defined. The numbers on the tower were supposed to be red with a white outline, but several sources suggest they were probably dark yellow. Its precision degree is perfect. Fábio.

Yes, it was carved by me. I have 2 pieces left over from the top of the bunker; one with the circular opening and the other where the 2 workers are.. Stay safe. Fábio.

German defenses along the normandy beaches were part os the Atlantic Wall fortifications designed to defend Fortress Europa from an allied amphibius invasion. The scene explanatory is an inspection visit by H.Q Officers at one of the many fortified positions established by troops from the 716th Infantry Division along the coast of Normandy. I used the DML 6213 German Staff Officer kit with its binocular is perfect for the scene. Maps are Peddinghaus. All diorama is 1/35 scale. The DML Dragon figures, Ceramic Bunker and Woodland Scenics vegetation are the elements that make up this interesting diorama about a fortification in Normandy. Let's follow up on the result. I made the ceramic bunker and glued with White glue. Painted with acrylics in a color similar to concrete and after a coat de varnish. It was washes with Ammo Mig enamel. More details view of a “Ringstanden”. Tobruks Pits were the most commom type de fortified position in normandy and existed in a wide range of styles. More officially termed “Ringstanden” they were all characterized by a single circular opening for a weapon, most commonly used as Machine Gun pits. I used an MG34 and the figure is Verlinden. In the future I will take advantage of this bunker and make the "tobruk panzerstellung" version which was equipped with a tank turret. In the circular opening I'll place an APX-R turret, initially used on the Heller Renault R-35 tank kit. I used 2 figures from the Dragon 6574 German Warriors set, to reproduce the typical appearance of a soldier belonging to a static division. I chose resin heads with a better facial expression. The 716th was considered a second class unit. The troops in static divisions tended to be older conscripts, averaging 35 years old. They included veterans wounded and also troops suffering from the debilitating effects or younger often with medical problems. While some work, others keep watch. In this view, we have a good disposition of the figures used.. Bunkers were usually practically buried in the ground to hide their profile. As a pattern maker, I preferred to add a trench to give the bunker structure more visibility. In this view we can see (partially covered) the exit door from the bunker to the trench that defends the rear of the position. Note the MG in anti-aircraft repair (Tamiya) and the "Minen" warning. On the bone plate, the written face is placed on the friendly side. In the case of the photo, I just turned the sign just to show what is written...(!) The vegetation and grass are Woodland Scenics. To make the trees (including the trunks of the trenches), I used dehydrated natural branches, collected in the field. After being treated with anti-fungus, they were painted with enamel paint. We avoid using acrylics, because the paint is water-based. There's a bird in the tree! I used the pigeon that comes in the Bronco 3567 Airborne Equipment set. Barbed wire was made using a well known technique. To make the "hedgehog", I consulted a military engineering manual. Cheers, Fábio.

Russian 45mm AT Gun M1942: This weapon is a 45mm model 1942 anti-tank gun with L / 62 type cannon tube. It weighed around 510kg (1125lb) and fired a projectile of 1.43kg (3,15lb) with penetration capacity of 51mm of shielding to 1000 m of distance. Despite the small caliber, the weapon was so efficient that it remained in service in the Red Army throughout the war, actively participating in the battles for the Motherland Defense and in the fronts of attack during the invasion of Germany. This kit is from Alanger (35101) in the 1/35 scale. In the assembly, I used wheels model 1942 and Modelmaster acrylics paint and Vallejo washing. KONSOMOLETS TRACTOR AND CREW: I used Miniart figures to detail the tiny Russian T-20 tractor. With few adaptations in the posture of the figures a good result is obtained. The heads are in resin from Verlinden and Alpine. The heads of the Miniart figures are not good. SOVIET TRACTOR AND LIMBER: An interesting combination of kits to replicate the initial phase of the war on the eastern front and use the T-20 Konsomolez. In this scene, I put this little tractor towing a light gun limber of the type 52-R-353M model 1938. This version is with wheels of an older model, since the limber model 1942 used the same type of wheels of the trucks GAZ- AA. Both kits are Maquette and as Miniart figures. Scale 1/35. SOVIET REGIMENTAL 76mm GUN M1943: This kit is from Alanger (35102) in 1/35 scale. It is not a very common kit to see, but due to its small size it fits very well in the scene of a diorama on any subject from Kursk. it can also be painted in camo tricolors, to be captured by the Germans. SOVIET 45mm ANTI-TANK GUN M1938: This kit is from ICM (35022) in the 1/35 scale. In the assembly, I used bicycle spokes to make the older model (M1938). In Modelmaster acrylic painting and finished with Vallejo. SOVIET MOTORCYCLE M72 SIDE CAR: This kit is from Zvezda (3639) in the 1/35 scale, Modelmaster acrylic painting and finished with Vallejo. I put it in a corner of any diorama just to show the model with more realism. All kits were easy to assemble, simple to paint, just trying to share the result of the work. Best. Fábio.

I liked the painting. ... It's the classic and "weird" camo from World War I.
