  1. Looks great! can't wait to build mine!. Beautiful work
  2. Thank you very much!....Yes go get one, they are great overall, BUT as I mentioned prepare yourself to have "fun" with the terrible instructions! 😉
  3. Thank you very much, Serkan Sen and Luis Pacheco! I appreciate your comments, especially after a month since I've posted the model!. Clearly this F/A-18 has become my most precious model to date. I enjoyed every step of the build and is now at a prime spot in my display case! 🙂
  4. Yeah, thanks a lot, David. I actually enjoyed doing that weathering the most! I left the rest of the aircraft more clean since this camo is quite recent, otherwise I would've go further!
  5. I must confessed that is exactly what is happening to me....I've always found the F-35 awful....a truly bad copy of the F-22, designed by someone short sided and with astigmatism ... .but after seen Tamiya's new kit, and these new schemes somehow is not too bad anymore, specially the C variant...😁
  6. Oh 🙂, that's great news, I'm glad you like it, glyn. Yeah I know, DXM decals are great, I have a couple more sets and I'll be ordering more for sure. Thanks to all for commenting! cheers
  7. This is my latest finished project, this time completely out of the box, (except for the decals). The GWH kit is very nice, with good surface detail and an overall good fit. The only part of the assembly that required extra care was the engine's intake fuselage area, with some quirky steps, but in the end, it works OK. The big letdown, however, was the awful instructions. I'm not sure if I had an early copy but they were terrible, with unclear drawings not showing enough details, wrong callout etc. There were even 3 correction pages but with mistakes! I ended up downloading from scalemates the instruction of their 1/48th scale which were much more precise. I guess the challenge here was the decals. This is my first digital camo and it was all done through decals. At one point I thought to better paint everything but in the end, the DXM/Cartograf decals were of such good quality that it turned out pretty OK. It was however a long tedious process...First I painted the base two-tone camo, then I added the digital pattern and I finished by adding all the stencils...Based on the very few images I found online and on how new the camo is, I decided to do a very mild weathering, mostly with some airbrush overspray and a little OPR. All comments are welcome! Cheers Jorge
  8. That looks Fantastic!, Great work on a beautiful aircraft!. The surface detail is remarkable! Bravo Eduard and bravo you!
  9. Hi Martin, thank you! Yes, you are right the kit was very good indeed, probably the best currently available in the 72nd scale. So at the beginning I was a bit hesitant when cutting the plastic to fit the resin! Thank you kapam!, 72nd is my preferred scale too!, there's just something about it that I love very much! (however any now and then I confess to do some 1:48 aircrafts...sorry 🤭) Apologies ErikT! it wasn't my intention 😁 cheers and thank you all
  10. Muchas gracias querido Humberto!! Siempre es un agrado leer tus mensajes por estos lados. Me bajan los recuerdos del querido Foro en sus momentos de gloria! Venga ese abrazo!, y viva Chile en su mes cumpleanero. Feliz 18 my friend!
  11. Fantastic work with this Beauty! I love the Mirage 2000. 😍 Love the camo and your weathering too. How good is the Modelsvit kit? I've done in the past the old Italeri, that required lots of corrections, but since I heard good reviews on the Modelsvit I've ordered one a couple of days ago and I can't wait to put my hand on it! Beautiful!
  12. WOW, What can I say? , but to thank you all for your kind words!! Super happy with the response. I really enjoyed working on it and I think it tells... cheers, and thank you again. 🙂
  13. Thank you very much! I really enjoy the build and doing all the modifications needed to fit the detail. Happy you liked it! Thank you, Alan appreciated! Well, not to me really, but for today's standards certainly it is! Think about it, 2007 is the year of the iPhone launch...(and with it the culture of obsolescence)
  14. Hi Fred piket, I used the regular painted photo etch ones by Eduard. I simply twisted them a bit to make them look more natural. Once again thank you all for your kind words!. cheers
  15. Thank you Russmeister! it was a really fun model to do, however it took me much longer than usual and hence at the end all I wanted was to finish it. There are some areas that I'm not 100% satisfied, but I've decided to move on. Maybe one day I will improve it, or just do another Hornet! Hi Mike, thank you! You are right and I was very aware of that important detail!, I used a couple of very good books ( Daco's Publications and Duke Hawkins) and when they do maintenance there's no ordnance to be seen, only a drop tank or two, but that's all. And thank you all for looking and commenting!. Cheers jorge
