  1. So that's 14 days until the Tree has to go up and 17 days until it can come down!
  2. I've used the Aires Cockpit set on six different models and had no issues with fit, can't say anything about accurancy though, certainly with my modelling anyway. Sure. they're not drop in replacements and I've used them on both the Airfix Spitfire 22/24 & Seafire 46/47 and quite incorrectly, on the Airfix Spitfire PR19, Aeroclubs' Spitfire 18 & 21, whilst I'm currently building the Airfix 22 & 24 and have used the Aires set on both, the only real issue I've had, is the fitting of the instrument panel. I will also admit that I don't use all the resin supplied modifing to suit! I've also used the Engine set on 3 and that has on occasion been awkward but again probably down to my hamfistedness. I also would avoid the cowling top, on at least one build, it was too small and I had to narrow the front fuselage, so that the the two met but strangely, the propeller fitted OK! I've used the Quickboost Exhausts but have also used the kits own exhausts with just as much success so only buy if you suffer from 'Must Have Everything' syndrome!, whilst the Barracudacast bits are simply to be recommended! I've read that many people dislike Aires sets but can honestly say that those I have used, haven't presented any major issues, though I haven't used the Aires Phantom or Tornado exhausts yet
  3. Another UK Law - No person shall, in the course of a business, import into England, potatoes which he knows, or has reasonable cause to suspect, are from Poland.
  4. In London, under section 54 of the Metropolitan Police Act 1839, it is a crime to walk home from B&Q, if you’ve just bought a ladder or a plank of wood but it’s OK to carry your shopping along the pavement – as long as you’re heading towards your car. Maximum fine? £500
  5. I've got a Hercules in the stash ready to convert into a C.4 with extended fuselage, using the Wingman conversion set, so I'm going to be watching with interest Great history as well plus some interesting pictures for reference
  6. Lets get politcal then, the Palace of Westminster is built on the site of William the Conqueror's first palace.
  7. Same here, I have every issue from the start 'til the current day, with the exception of the Jay Laverty years! My pet hate, especially when the accompanying text points out some minute detail which is all but invisible or has even missing due to having been cropped out in the image editting process, really, really, REALLY grates! Plus, why do we need a clean paint brush pretending to paint or an airbrush hoovering above the model, in the pictures? I'm sure most of us, by now, know what a paint brush or airbrush look like!
  8. I'd love to listen but unfortunately it means listening to Jeremy Vine himself! Not to be recommended at anytime...
  9. The more I see of these Dragon Apollo builds, the more I want to have ago myself. If only I didn't already have nearly 500 other kits in the stash...
  10. Not strictly true, as the Moon is moving away from the Earth at the rate of around 3-4cm per year!
  11. Not a fact, more a question relating to the spacey things already mentioned! If the Universe is expanding, what's it expanding into? Or is it just there? No beginning, no end, just going on and on, for all time, not that time actually exists!
  12. Hopefully it will be ready for Telford, if so, I'll be picking one up
  13. On a similar note, is someone from Goole known as a Goolie? Sorry, that may not travel across the pond!
  14. A moving tank track, when in contact with the ground, does not actually move!
  15. I guess that it depends on your interest! SAM Publishing. Guideline Publications, Valianting Wings, Kagero and Mushroom Books are all good starting points
  16. Well, I for one appreciate your efforts and no doubt there are many others here, who do as well! As a member of the genus Homo Modelus Infruriatus Erectus, we can be a fickle bunch but there is nothing wrong with being an "Assembler", just as there is nothing wrong with being a "Modeller", as I'm sure that we have all been both when building the latest Aifix, Eduard, Tamiya, (insert your choice of manufacturer here) kit and then added all those little bits that make the finshed item stand out from the norm! I've purchased the Gannet and as you say, it intended for modellers, not assemblers and was bought under that understanding and fully accept that the Buccaneer will follow suit and I will be buying one, knowing that! It's part of the fun, albeit sometimes frustrating
  17. Hmmm, that's bigger than I imaged but is truly worthy of all the praise already sent and I look forward to the Waist and Tail positions being completed. No rush, in your own time, at your convenience Looking forward to the next project
  18. Thats a cracker, really liking it As an aside and not related to your modelling and I realise that it could be camera distortion but have SH fallen into the same problem as Grand Phoenix did, with regard to the propeller hub shape? Looks fine in images 2 and 3 but the rest seem to show a slightly bulbus outline!
  19. Aaahhhh but.... Nope, can't think of a rational argument, guilty as charged!
  20. Another one of those "why do we add all that detail, when nobody will see it" builds! Love it...
  21. Queue an appearance on Loose Women, pleading all innocence, that she's no more than a hard done by, greatly misunderstood, lass, recently dumped by her over-sexed boyfriend, which in return is greeted with much sympathetic nodding of heads and gushing agreement and understanding from Janet Street-Porter and all the others! This will then soon be followed up by an appearance on Big Brother or whatever the current 'Look At Me' programme is, a nice 6 figure appearance money in pocket, then her story sold to all of the Red Tops, a 3 book contract with some publisher, another nice 6 figure appearance money in pocket, job done, with change! Sad but that appears to be the way of todays society. PS As I write this, I'm reminded of someone, can't quite put a name to the face.... PPS Yes I can, Katie 'Jordan' Price!
