  1. You really need to change the name of this thread to "1/5 T'au Fire Warrior Full Figure Sculpt Masterclass" - Andy
  2. In Octane Magazine (issue 155 August 2016) there's an article on when the 1966 winning car was restored 'exactly' back to how it was on the day it won le Mans; after a previous over restoration. The photos show that this car did have labels on the switches on the day it raced. - Andy
  3. I'm sure by know most of us will now beware of her losing her battle with cancer at a tragically young age. But if you want reminding of just how good a driver she was just watch the link below of her performance in a 911 GT3R
  4. Very clean panel lines, how did you achieve that? Andy
  5. Its a bit of a cliche, but in this case it is most definitely appropriate, ' I thought I was looking at a photo of a real car'. Stunning model, it's a real art th heavily age a model without overdoing it. Great photos to. Andy
  6. Another auction to look at and dream. https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/index.php?option=com_bidding&view=commission&layout=catalogue&id=76&pn=2&el=15160&pp=100&session_id=2
  7. Yeah the engines done!...if you ignore the waterpump, dip-stick . Fuel line in on the 3rd attempt 1st one fouled the steering column, the 2nd one was just......not very good, third time lucky. However for some reason the exhaust headers no longer line up with the hole in the body . I must have a faulty moulding as it couldn't possibly be me The simplest solution to me was to cut out a rectangle and reverse it. Thanks for looking - Andy
  8. Another soon to be patented John Lambert modeling clamp
  9. Don't worry and the update was well worth the wait, fantastic work as ever - Andy
  10. Thanks CodgerI appreciate your advice, however the statement was more of a cack-handed attempt of a complement. I did consider getting the kit, but then I realised I have more kits than I could ever build. I should be thinking of selling not buying .
  11. Great to see it completed it may have fought all they way, but you definitely won...she's a knockout
  12. Great build, the driver and co-driver really add to the build - Andy PS, also agree great subtle weathering.
  13. When I first heard of this kit I was quite tempted to by it. Now I seen this thread I not so sure I will, as I know however well I build it it would never be even in the same league at this and everytime I looked at it I would just think 'its not as good as Bengalensis's' Thanks for sharing - Andy
  14. I really appreciate that you show us when things go wrong, but what I really admire is the level you get back too after these set backs. Thanks for the inspiration - Andy
  15. I clicked on this as I didn't know what a Renault TN6C2 was (buses really aren't my thing), however I really like what you've done so far. The interior is brilliantly done. Still don't get excited by buses, but I enjoy watching your progress. - Andy
  16. Primer is always a big step, as it can easily highlight all the little faults you thought you'd overcome. Yours look great, especially considering all the fettling you've had to do. I'll expect to see it finished by next weekend. - Andy
  17. You're got a lot of work ahead, but you've made a cracking start, looking forward to watching the progress. - Andy
  18. Its £8:29 with free P&P from this seller on eBay, it was who I used when I last brought some, 2 to 3 day delivery from memory. https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/mastercasters1
  19. Still on the engine! On the kit the carburetor manifold is length of the block and the exhaust headers have no flanges at all. I have addressed this, which you can just about make out on the photos. I've also finished the carb linkage, I've just noticed on the photos that the linkage to the rear carb is not straight, it hardly shows to the naked eye so may not try and correct it. Also made the bracket that goes around the oil filler cap out of some brass photoech, allowing me to add the return spring and where I can attach the throttle cable. So I've now got a fuel pump and the carbs on, so the next step is connecting them up (I think this will really test my patience , but I have a cunning plan). One thing that has really help was that with a magnet in the engine it will attach to my set square making it much easier to handle, this was not intentional but I think I'll be doing it again. Thanks for your patience Andy
  20. Hi, not sure is the answer from me, but it has been discussed on this forum. Andy
  21. Hi Marco, thanks for sharing. It great to see a 7 being driven as it was intended to. I also think they stripped out the engine, fixed the prop-shaft and rebuilt it all in a shorter time than its taken me to detail my engine. - Andy
