  1. It´s always nice to take out the old pandora for spinn That old box Is the best thing..And if you can, you´ll do it. The kit seat is not that bad at all, so just sand the edges thin and it will do.This was just for the fun Lars Q
  2. I was burning some midnight oil yesterday so here’s some up dates. The new seat that was vacuumed is sanded out from the plastic. Now is it just some small details to make in plasticard to get it done. Her you have the seat next to the original kitseat. More details are to be fabricated for the office later. The engine is glued together and had the first spray of paint, even the inside of the fuselage got a green treatment. Lars Q
  3. Next job that’s been started is the office. Trumpeter gives us modellers a nice cockpit, but you can always put in something more For this one I ask Ms Pandora for some help, and she vacuumed a new seat for me. Now the job is just to sand the new seat out from all plastic you get just a thinner seat from all this. Lars Q
  4. It just came out from the paintbox. Now I´ll have a coffee.I´ve just have a little fun with the silverpaint on this one. You can never see anyway Until next Cheers Lars
  5. Hi Folks I got some work done on the Albatros DIII. The fuselage and wing have got its last fillings and sanding. Some small etched pieces from Eduard are in place. Next step is to put on a coat of light brown on the fuselage. Then painting the wood is coming. I’m doing that in oil’s so there will be some time for the DIII to dry up. Until next update Cheers Lars Q
  6. Hi Folks I was able to start up the build of the Trumpeter P- 47 razorback today. This is one I’ll have wait for. Lots of work to do on the inside, so here is the first days of work. Started the work of detailing up the insides of the office. More details will be added. Going to use Waldron’s placards set to lift up the text in cockpit. Almost a full day of work to get the interior pieces in order. Just needing some light sanding and it will fit inside the fuselage. Some sinkmarks have been filled. Lars Q
  7. I´ve started up the work on the Albatros DIII, and you can now see the progress in “Work in progress” Please feel free to comment the build, I will send in new pics of the progress. Lars
  8. Good start my friend, now´s the rest to deal with.... Lars Q
  9. Sorry for the late answer my friend The rigging is nothing to be scared about my friend just take one wire at the time. You migth be sorry in the future, when you decide to give it a try and can´t get hold of one. This one was the first model with the full rigg for me, can´t just have those Fokkers in the shelf Lars
  10. good luck to you mate, I´ll follow you work, and I´m glad that I´m not in this combat Lars
  11. thanks Guys These 32-scale birds are just lovley. And I must give Spada some credits for making it possible to build some nice machines. The stash is now this Academy Nieuport 17 Special Hobby Nieuport 11 Hobbycraft Spad XIII Roden Fokker Dvi Roden Pfalz DIII Roden Se5a Matchbox Tiger Moth The only one missing is Hobbycrafts Camel And then there is the 48-scale stash,Puh
  12. Hi Here’s some pics of my work on the Roden Albatros DIII in 32-scale. I´ve started up the build, but then stopped when I heard that Eduards was realising the etchset for this one. So now is the time to take this one up. I don´t like Rodens seat so a new one was made from Plasticard and Milliput. The engine was detailed up with some wires and new rockers. That has become some standard on these engines now. The engine was painted in Humbrol polish metals, and with some light buffing it came out nice. The first test mock-up of the cockpit and fuselage. The wooden paint is done in oilpaint. The Spandau´s is something extra with the Eduard stuff on it. The set from them just lift the guns to the heaven. The fuselage halves are glued together and some minor fillings are done before the prep for the paint, next is the wings, witch needs some ribtapes and relocated radiator. I will go for Spadas decals of Werner Voss DIII and I´ve maybe throw in that lovely figure Mike Good sculpted for us modellers. Lars Q
  13. any brand will do the trick mate as long you don´t do to much!!then the sleepyness will come to you. Thanks for the comments, The sorry bit is these just waiting for some time in the sun,for the moment I´ll work on the big Albatros. Will send in Pics later when I got some photos of the progres. Lars Q
  14. thoose computers. It was much easy without them. At least when they start to give the owner troubble Lars Q
  15. Hi That olive drab would be Pc 12, just another paint my friend. "Some home mixing experiments followed and I settled on Humbrol Matt Ochre 83, Matt Light Olive 86 and Gloss Clear 35. The purpose of the clear varnish in the mix was to give the paint a semi-gloss finish, instead of the flat look of other paints in the mixture. When painting, I always thin out the paint just a little "too much" to get the right see-through effect." This text comes from this article. Close up on DH-2 Accually it´s my way of doing Pc10. To get the 12 just add some red to it. That will give you a more red/brown tone. good luck mate Lars Q
  16. The best reference free on the net. more than you ask for. cheers Lars Q
  17. Hi Guys Here are some pics of the builds that’s been stalled for some time. Don´t know why so can’t explain that for you guys. I’ll never can be sure of the model have lost my interest or if it’s just stalled out for sometime. Maybe it’s like that glass of wine in my hand It’s looking tasty, but when I really got in my hand late Friday night Its always never that sweet. The wine makes me sleepy and nothing will be done that evening. Here they are Eduards Albatross Dv in 48.scale. An build I´m started up years ago, and still don´t have to get some time to put the final peices in place. Next one up is the Eduard sopwith Camel 2F1. A fine kit, but had to put out of my building space for a internet contest. This is the price I´ve got for getting in a contest. another unfinished model. It will be build one day, I´ll hope. The third on is a Roden 1½ Strutter in comic shape. Started up really sharp on this one, but when I realized that the engine is just a blob I started to look at for a new engine and haven´t to this day find any vector engines. So My guess is that I´ll have to take one out from an Eduard kit. The etch are Parts and it´s alot of plasticard in this one. Hopefully I´ll get restarted on this one. The fourth one is Rodens Felixstowe in 72-scale, not my choice in scale, but the only horse for decent money. Etch from parts and a lot of work to be done if this one will get to the shelf of completed builds. All is filled , sanded, primed and preshaded so it´s just to pic up the build again. Then there is two 32-scale build that hanging around on the bench waiting for some new bits and glue. First Rodens Big Albatros DIII, lots of work has been done on this and its fun to se this kit being build on other sites from different builder. This one have a new seat wired engine, etch from Eduards is to go in the build and Spadas decals is in the box. The second one is Hobbycraft/Academy Nieuport 17. Loads of work on this one, new seat and inner structure. stick and tank in place, it’s just to add the small parts and pieces. Etch from Tom´s Modelworks and decals from Spada will get this one to fly some day. The pics can tell you more than me Somy friends What do you have for stalled one´s? Cheers Lars Q
  18. Hi Gary I don’t think it will sell that much. And I can’t cast things in resin. Besides that Cooper had one in resin if I recall All modellers I´ve Know have the Dh-2 at the bottom of the shelf (will probably never to be buildcorner). I think that it’s the fullrigging that’s makes them to scary to start up the build. At the time I was building mine there was another guy in Czech Republic whose throw some good work on his kit. Mike Grant (the decal guy) did also a mighty job on one. The camel have a wicker but what can you see of that seat when the model is completed? The Be2 series got wickers to and you always use the leftover etch seat from Eduards Camel or just order a set of etched from Parts or Eduard. These machines will get lovely without handmade wicker, but the DH-2 didn’t. Just that large opening into the cockpit did scream for a special seat. Several British RAF plane did have these wickers but it’s just a seat. If we turn the scale up to 32, the only horse you look at then is the camel from Academy or Hobbycraft. The Hobbycraft´s kit is better one the modeller told me. I don´t have it yet but will order it some day. But the same problem here, how much can you see. It’s not that difficult to build one, it’s just taking some time to make one. Off course the first four or five is just to throw away, but it’s the same problem as always when you and all other modeller will try to increase the skills of the modelling, some will get it some don´t. For me it’s why in to modelling, I can never build out of the box, that’s my biggest problem. But Gary never say never, someday I’ll make one for someone who can cast in resin. Cheers Lars Q
  19. Thanks for the kind words guys. The Dh-2 is a three month build for me, the rigging itself took two weeks to set up. Eduard hade made it quite simple in the instruction so I´ve had several references to get it right. This one is the only fullrigged machine I´ve finished. The wickerseat is actually the last seat of three who was made for this lovely plane, the two first ones was put in the trash real quick. The seat is just what this model need, and I didn’t like the etched one Eduard putted in the etchset. The seat is made from plasticard copper wire and fishingline. I have just a new wicker finished for another WW1 project, but more of this another time and thread. Thanks guys I will send in more work Lars Q
  20. Hi Jay never got my hands on that one, but of what I´ve heard there was a ton of work to load. The newest in the 32-scale pile is Special Hobbys Nieport 11, thats a gem. Can´t wait for the Spada decals for that one. Lars
  21. I´m tempted dylan, but I´ve have´not the time just now. Next time perhaps. But Í´m following the groupbuild with big interest.there is some nice build going on. Will give you my bet now.... seeya Lars Q
  22. Hi As the main topic says I was cleaning up my photoalbum, so why not send in some pics of my work. There is always one or ten that havent seen them Eduard 1/48 DIII Albatros was my firts real attempt on ww1 build. The fuselage is painted in oilcolour and its rigged with Gold-zack thread. next is Eduards Roland Cii profipack. This kit is not the new with the correct decals for this machine. The scales is hand painted, not that much to rigg, so I´ve build that anometer on the top wing. This one you´ve seen all over the internet, thats what my feeling is. It´s Eduards Arco DH2 fully riggad and with handmade wickerseat. Nieupot 11. I´ve have a week spot for these awsome figthers from nieuport. This is Eduards Niuport 17. This was build for the first contest on the Aeroscale forum under a few weeks. No extras just what you have in the box plus rigging. there guys you have the walkaround for this time. sadly I´m a very slow builder so you have to be patience to ait for somthing new to be finished. for this time cheers Lars Q
  23. Hi Tony As far as I know there is just that horse in the barn.Revells Se5a is an old one.So if if I was you stick to Roden. That gives you a real good Se5a for the money. The kit itself is quite simple to put together. No engine, spars cockpit, but gives a nice model when finished. The only drawback on this kit is that you got decals for the wire pulley. You can either do the decals or going for some real scratchwork, it´s up to you and your skill. If you when want some extra details on the build I´ll recommed Part ect set to the kits. You find the etch at Jadar in polen. Number obn the set is 48-134 Jadar is a nice one to get stuff from there fast and have decsent prices http://jadarhobby.home.pl/index.php?curren...amp;language=en Cheers Lars Q
  24. Nice Chris I´ve follow your work on LSP, and if you can do the same work with this as you did on the He 162, it will be another one for the book of fame. Keep it coming. Lars Q
