Hi Perry sadly I´ll smached the canopy in peices when masking it. So for the moment I´ll just waiting for a replacement. The only thing you missed so far was my anger management. I´ll promise you guys You´ll now when I have a replacement canopy. Then I´ll have to say that I´m a early bird man, it´s fun to build WW2 machines, but it´s nice to go back to the roots. I was a little burned out on these machine after building that DH2 from Eduard. When starting up this Hanriot It was just fun to go crazy with that withe plastic again. Cheers Larsa

Hi folks In the local club there is two builders starting up a groupbuild on this lovley Hanriot. Rogga the other builder have the limited box including the etch. For me I´m not that lucky, having just the weekend edition, so there will be some extra work with the white plasticards The build is to be done to the last sunday in Januari next year, so this will be somewhat of a "quicky" The first session is the cockpit before all paint. If you like it, it will come more cheers Larsa

Hi Folks Today’s session was to paint up the White stripes on the underside of the wings and belly. I used Humbrol gloss white mixed with some Humbrol Natural wood. The Humbrol white is just too white in y taste, so by adding some brown into it I´ve took out a little off that brightness that tin has. I’ll have never use up so much masking tape on one build before in my life, so that company will have a Happy hour or two. So here you have the result for today. Larsa

Yes the first pic did come out last :shithappens: So the grey birds is the metalbird before the metal cheers Larsa

Hi Juglovers I used up one bottle of Alclad today and still got areas to cover. Huh, never used that much of Alclad before. I was surprised to find the way it just vanished from the jar. Okay next step will be to cover the rest who needs the aluminium, the there will be shadings in the darker tones of aluminium. I did the upper D-day stripes before painting the aluminium, the effect I was trying to achieve was that washed/etched look that will be in the metal. Hm don´t know if it turned out that way I hopped for so there’s going to be more work on this. Now the Jug is a shiny beast to take pics of, the camera went total mad on this Larsa

The Razorback got its first coat of paint. Here are some pics from the paintshop. The Rback got its first coat of paint. I’ll used Humbrol gloss grey 7 as primer. This will be the basecolour for the finishing Alclad when it’s time for that. I’ll going to mix some different shades of this grey to get some extra fancy tones of the Alclad, you’ll see I´ve just spotted some minor jobs to refill in the seam on the belly and a nasty superglue mess on one of the flaps, so that’s going to be corrected before a second coat of the same grey. until next time all the best Larsa

Hi Ian and all others Here is the update on the build. For the moment I’m preparing the machine for the paint. So there are a lot of imperfections to correct I think I’m done more then Trumpeter. After gluing all he big parts together and sanding down the edges around the fuselage I also sanded away a whole bunch of rivets, so there was a bunch to recreate with a needle one by one. When I’m glued the lids for the armament in the wing I was not that precise in gluing in a spacer so the lid came in line with the wing, so I´ve just had to cut them all up again and redo the job. As a nice treat that’s giving me more imperfections to fix up. So if you build this one after me be sure that you use a 10 mil plasticard to get the right level for the panels The panels will be fixed with some Milliput and rescribed with an Olfablade. The cowling for is a little to short, so it’s have to be lengthen with a bit of plasticard. Also the inside duct under the engine has to be shortened just a little. No big deal but these things take some time to sand and fit, sand, refit. So hopefully I can load the airbrush next week with the first coat of paint in the search for the new imperfections I´ve missed this time, and if not then I can start the Alcladjob. To next time cheers Larsa

And you will have it my friend. updates tomorrow. Larsa

Thank´s just done with the sanding some filler. Tomorrow I will put on the first coat of colour, to check out sandings. Don´t want any lowspots. Cheers Larsa

Hi Time to glue the big peices But first the small ones Going to show of just one of the gunbays, so I just painted up one side. there will be some wires added to the guns before painting the final bits. The wheel bays is just painted, no extars here. trumpeter got it clean and bnice so I´ll just leave it with that. Now for the promised big parts to glued. there is some gaps between the wing and the fuselage, so I´ll using Milliput for this filling. The best thing with Milliput is that you can sculpt it before it´s complete dry. That will give me less filler to sand Now it´s time to order some Alclad´s for this one, so let the fun begin Cheers Larsa

Thanks, I´ll just push it forward

Hi folks I’m back to the hobby bench again. Last week I’ll had to much to do, so never got that time for the model, but this week I will .I have got the seat belts in place (used Eduards US set 32 506) and going to add some cables in the back of the instrument panel. I used Mike Grants instrument decal for WW2 aircraft on the panel. Last thing is to paint the sight and give the interior a satin finish with the airbrush. Later this week I’ll get the fuselage halves together with some glue, then is the downhill race to the paintboth. For this time Cheers Larsa

Thank´s Bob been away from home under the weekend so I´m back today. Sending in some updates on the Razorback later this week. Thank´s Lars
-
Thank you ED Cockpit almost finished almost everything is painted and weathered. Will assembly the office this weekend. I’m going too use Mike’s instrument decals and Eduards Seatbelts. The acetatefilm you got from Trumpeter is a very nice thing, but the transparent panel has sadly not clear lenses for it so you can’t see the instruments as clear as you would like to. Eduards belt are much better then the kits. Lars

There you have the problem. You need to wipe of the excess paint, and a flat surface. Good luck Lars Q

Painting woodgrains, any tips. Nop, not exactly just practise, practise. Something to paint on I use an old brush number 0 will do the job. Oilpaint for the wood Humbrolpaints for the basecolour. White spirit or similar Here it goes. For start paint a semigloss light brown basecolour. I prefer the semigloss paint. The oil will not get that stick to the Humbrol as if it was flat colour. So just mix Humbrol clear to what brown you want to use. Ratio 50%-50%. Spray the basecolour and let it dry complete. Now’s the time for the oils to go on. Mix what colour you choose and thin them with some white spirit or what ever is your brand. The consistence will be like cream. Brush the paint from one side to the next side in even strokes. You won’t need much of paint, the oil will have some difficulties to stick on the semigloss surface. Now wipe of the excess paint from the brush, now is the time for some grains to come to you. After each stroke with the brush you wipe of the excess from the brush and working your way down on the part that will have the grain. You have plenty of time to work and practise on the wet oil. When you are satisfied with the grain let dry for two days, then you will have a flat surface. Now’s the time to chose the clear you will use, Gloss or semigloss. So practise and good luck Lars Q
